A small sigh of relief left the Officer's lips as Ceyla lowered the barrel of her gun. It wasn't exactly that he doubted the woman's patience, but given the urgency of the situation, it could make anyone's trigger finger a little too itchy for their own good. Much like the Prime Minister standing at his side, Alburn was no exception to such nature overtaking him in the midst of combat, but he was trying this damned best to keep his head cool as much as possible for her sake. Initially, he feared that this would only escalate, but the situation quickly diffused itself as the monk surrendered the Void Crystal to her, the group was finally ready to advance. "Alright, guys. Let’s get going.”Promptly, like the rest of the hunters, Alburn followed suit right beside her, with his gunblade held in his hand, but as he'd initially expected, the journey was extraordinarily treacherous. The forest of concrete and twisted metal blocked every path they seemed to take. It was like a maze - one wrong turn and one could easily find themselves lost. It stretched endlessly like a spiderweb, but with her leading the way forth as their sole guide, the group had little to no difficulties finding their way around the city on foot. However, when the sound of Grimm reached his ears, he knew that the battle would soon be waged. “Well, guys, this is it. The last push before we reach the veins.” Ceyla noted before pointing towards the young men with canisters of explosives, Immediately, Alburn knew that protecting these two hunters would be the key to their success. “You two stay close. We’re going to need those explosives ready to go once the Grimm are coming after us. The rest of you will have to provide cover.” With these orders, the Officer nodded without a word and faced their adversaries within the infinite blackness that stretched out before them. The swarm of red eyes were moving, grow and multiple continually in numbers much like how a cancer would in both variety in shapes and sizes. That's what they were, cancers. Alburn's eyes narrowed in focus, cocked the hammer back on the Second Sun as he lightly rested his finger against its silver trigger. Suddenly, his attention shifted away from their enemies to Ceyla at his side, who promptly reached for his face with her soft hands. “Thank you for being here. I appreciate it.” In response, the Officer silently shook his head almost as if to say that he had no need for such things. All he was doing was keeping a promise the day they met at the Police Headquarters. "I don't make promises that I can't keep," Alburn intoned with a small smile growing on his hard features, "I'll be with you till the end." “Promise me you’ll be okay. I need you to come out of this okay," She pleaded with him before planting a small kiss on his lips. Alburn also held her body firmly with his free hand, to reassure her that they'd make it through this day. In this battle for survival, she wasn't alone. They were together, as one, as a team. Then, on Ceyla's signal, the hunters poured through the streets, cutting their way through the hordes of the foul creatures that were in their way. With them, the Officer spear headed the assault on the left flank to keep the Prime Minister from being attacked from an angle she'd be hard pressed to defend from. Immediately, Alburn's eyes caught on the Graylich. It was massive, hulking and in its berserk anger, was charging through the lines with its massive arms smashing against the stone streets, ignoring all forms of obstacles that was in its way. No - it was more like knocking them away. Determining that the creature would be his pray, the Officer stormed through the streets in as well in a similar manner with his weapon dragging itself across the ground, kicking up numerous sparks as it did so. With its spiked mask, the Graylich attempted to smash into him, but before the mountainous creature could possibly get any strikes on him, Alburn slammed his left foot forward and pointed his weapon directly at the Grimm. The trigger, thereafter, was pulled. The silver blade lit up in an angry crimson, flames emitted from its chambers as a large wave of inferno raged forth from his weapon like a tidal wave, consuming the monstrosity in its all-purging hellpyre. Initially, the monster buckled down on the ground, fighting against the force, but it was quickly blown away into the opposite direction it initially intended. Alburn then turned, his weapon pointed directly against the creature once more, pulled down the hammer and pulled the trigger. Click---. Again, the Graylich's world became lit up by flames, and from the smokes, came the Hunter clothed in black as the night sky with a steaming crimson blade crying for its blood. Alburn slammed his weapon against the creature numerous of times as it fell, smashing and tearing against its exposed vitals. It struggled uselessly before finally crashing on top of numerous of Barghests, crushing them under its tremendous weight. Lying dead, and disappearing like ashes, the Hunter jumped on top of another target, his weapon, easily bisecting the creature in half with a single cleave downwards. His eyes then turned towards the young men running through the hordes of Grimm with canisters of explosives on them. They were making an excellent progress, and by the looks of their faces, they weren't total green horns. Good, but a sudden force slamming into his back turned his world white, slamming his body flying like a ragdoll before slamming into an abandoned building. Thankfully, his body seemed to take notice of this danger and immediately activated aura to soften the blow of the landing. However, that didn't mean it hurt. It no only ruined his favorite coat, his carelessness seemed to have landed him another few scars on his back. "Damn it," Alburn turned his attention towards the creature of the sky who'd attempted to grab him earlier. Judging by its razor sharp talons, which was bloodied, he had no doubts that it was obviously gunning for him. It was flying around the area, its crimson eyes directly on him, waiting patiently for its prey to come out of the hiding. Fighting against the pain, the Officer gritted his teeth and trudged out of the ruins. Without relenting, the creature swooped down on him with talons first at incredible speeds, but he was far from unprepared. Activating his semblance, the Hunter simply blurred, and flashed in front of the surprised creature. "ARGHHHHH!" Pouring forth all his rage and curses at its being, Alburn snapped his gunblade down on its head. The sheer force he'd admitted from his swing alone simply cracked and shattered its armored mask and sent it plummeting downwards to the ground. Quickly turning the revolving chamber of his weapon, he snapped down on the hammer and pulled the trigger. The violent gust which followed sent him speeding down towards it with a strength of a freight train. His kick smashed against its ribcages, and felt it buckling before snapping in many pieces. Once his foot was firmly put in place, he unleashed barrage of lightning fast cleaves against its flesh, mainly targeting its wing to keep it from taking off into the air once it hit the ground. As it squirmed uselessly against his attacks, all resistance was made futile as Alburn planted his weapon down on its body. "I'm done with you!" Once again, pulling the trigger, the violent cyclone burst forth from his weapon, and at once, the raging winds consumed it in its hungry maws. -- Remaining Usage for Rounds in Chamber -- - 4x Red; (9/12) - 1x Green; (1/3) Active - 1x Orange; (2/3) AP: 580/650

One! Her bullets tore through the Barghest with relative ease, causing the creature to twist in pain. Her attention immediately shifted to another - just a little bit smaller - running towards her with its sharp claws ready. With her sword ready, Ceyla carved through the wolf-like creatures blackened pelt, straining in her efforts to do so. The blade didn’t complete its journey, instead sticking about halfway through the monster. She struggled frantically to remove the sword from the now deceased Grimm, yanking and twisting with all her might. Sounds from behind alerted her to a Graylich stalking her from behind. Her heart raced as her attempts grew more frantic, jerking the sword as hard as she could.
With no luck, Ceyla fired off the rest of her revolvers rounds, only striking the beast with two of them. The lumbering bear Grimm continued drawing closer and closer until a gentle ripple caught her attention. It had traveled into the range of her Void. Grinding her teeth together, she watched intently as the monster crept closer and closer. Ceyla felt as it wandered further into Gallows’s range, until it was close enough for her Semblance to wreak true havoc on her target. Several powerful waves struck the Graylich over and over again, each one with enough force to punch a hole through concrete. A few of them were powerful enough to travel through the Graylich with relative ease.
She exhaled tiredly, slouching just a moment before finally managing to tug her sword free. Her red eyes scanned the battlefield, her mind processing every single detail - no matter how small - in an effort to determine their current situation. Noticing Alburn, Celya felt her heart drop as he was attacked by one of the Krahe that hovered above. “Alburn!” She cried out. Without a second thought, she ran as fast as she could in his direction, her sword cleaving through one Grimm after another to rendezvous with him. Another Graylich appeared, cutting her off with a heavy swipe of its mighty claw. The surprise was enough to catch her off guard, leading to the paw meeting its mark and sending her flying through a small building nearby.
Thankfully, her Aura absorbed most of the damage. That said, Ceyla could feel all the pain that would’ve accompanied the wounds she was spared from. Breathing stung, and as she did her best to rise to her feet, she felt her left knee give out under her weight. Stumbling to the ground below, Ceyla landed at the base of a rubble pile. Without Aura, she was sure her situation would be a lot bloodier than it was. That said, she had to make a decision - let her Aura give just a little, allowing her to use it in combat if needed, or dedicate it all to suppressing the damage within her body. It was a difficult conclusion, but she eventually insisted on easing up her Aura’s healing factor.
Almost instantly, her lung tried to fill with blood, forcing her to choke at first. Letting out a quiet gasp of pain, Ceyla drew her sword and prepared herself to meet the now charging Graylich. Her Semblance flared as the beast plowed into her, allowing her to drive her sword through the creature’s core and inflict massive damage using Gallows’s Final Void. The Grimm was decimated, evaporating into a thick smoke as Ceyla’s limp body rested among the now larger pile of rubble. She was still breathing, still alive. It was all just pain - unimaginable pain. The world around her remained black, as images flashed in the darkness. Images of the past, of the present, and - presumably - the future.
Ceyla saw a giant serpent looming over the capital of Rift, its glowing eyes beating down on her as a series of corroded letters flashed before her. Screams, of people and monsters, echoed in this odd dream. They were so loud, so real, that she had trouble identifying whether they were all in her head or the sounds of Pinnacle being attacked. All she could to is lie there, in agonizing pain, struggling to push back what felt like Death's beckoning call. Ceyla didn’t want to die. She couldn’t. There was so much she had to do, so much more she had to experience. Using all her energy, Ceyla managed to open her eyes to a slight squint, staring high into the skies above.
Death would not take her this day.

As the Krahe dissipated into nothingness, Alburn's quietly scanned the battlefield, taking a note of the situation that they were in, but that came to an abrupt halt when he caught a sight of Ceyla being so easily sent flying through a building with a single swipe from a Graylich. The male felt his eyes widen, and screamed for her name. "CEYLA!" A response. Something. Anything. The image of his father's bloody corpse repeatedly flashed through the young Officer's mind as he sprinted across the broken street pavements, while desperately cutting his way through the hordes of Grimm that defiantly stood in his way. Angrily, the Hunter belligerently plowed through them, and each time he did so, he felt his muscles burning - protesting.
However, it was then when a pack of two Grimm slammed into his body, causing him to tumble on the ground for several feet before his wounded back finally met the stone wall, staining it crimson with his own life blood which still yet poured from his wounds. The male felt his lungs gasp for air that it needed as he glared at the creatures before him. Their crimson eyes narrowed, almost as if they were laughing at him. Mocking him. Mocking at his helpelessness, almost as if to ask: W hat will you do now, hunter? The answer for that was clear. Using his gunblade as a support, Alburn stood back up on his feet with his weapon raised. "Don't get in my way," He commanded. Whether these creatures understood it or not, Alburn pushed himself off of the ground with great force, disappearing - and reappearing before the creatures. He expected a single swing would do them in, but the two worked in near unison to block his attacks. Once again, they pushed him back - and using that opening that they've created, one of them dove underneath him and slammed their claw into his torso. The Officer felt himself stumbling back from the attack, losing his balance and falling on his back. A grunt of pain left him, but before he could possibly get up on his feet, one of them was already on top of him with its razor sharp maws widen open to bite into his head. Even with his aura shield, he wasn't going to survive that. Before the abysmal maws could close in upon him Alburn quickly rolled off to the side, dodging the creature's attack just by hair's length. His thumb cocked down on the hammer, pointed directly against the creature and pulled the trigger. The blast of cyclone thereafter sent both him and the creature flying backwards in opposite directions. Though he painfully landed against another obsticle, it gave him more than enough time to regain his bearings and quickly make a run for it using the cloud of dust as his cover. Finally, Alburn slowed down when his eyes beheld upon Ceyla's body lying in a pile of rubble. Bloodied. Wounded. Dying. The despair, fear of the worst washed over the young Officer as the strength in his hand simply faded. Like a marionette with its strings cut, he collapsed on his knees, and his gloved hands shakily reached out for Ceyla's soft cheeks which was still yet free of all blemishes. "Don't leave me," He whispered as he gently caressed her face. "Ceyla, open your eyes... d-don't do this to me."A silence. "I NEED YOU, GOD DAMN IT!" However, when his cries attracted the attention of Grimm, Alburn's attention was immediately plummeted back into the battle. There was no where to run, or to hide. Surrounded by enemies on all sides, the Officer put strength back into his arms as he picked the gunblade back up. He refused to let them take Ceyla from him - no, he WILL not let them take her. Or he'll die trying. -- Remaining Usage for Rounds in Chamber -- - 4x Red; (9/12) - 1x Green (0/3) - 1x Orange; (2/3) AP: 400/650

Kim was tearing through Grimm like a demon all her own, sprinting to a Barghest and tearing it to pieces with her claws, then leaping onto the head of a Graylich and rending out its eyes, before making short work of the rest of its head. She fought with pure, primal ferocity, all the while a savage smile rested on her features and her skin glowed with heat. Leo ran alongside her, assisting where he could by attacking the legs of various Grimm. With the sheer force she fought with it became abundantly clear why she was considered a weapon before she was found, and as her green eyes slit and her glowing arm tore apart another Barghest, she realized, only for a moment, how truly dangerous she was. Kim paused, lowering her guard for a moment too many and not noticing the claw of a Graylich coming at her until it was too late.
Before impact though, Leo jumped into the way of the blow, intercepting it and once more going flying through the air and slamming into a nearby building. He yelped as he impacted, spending a few moments struggling to get up. Kim's mind snapped back to the action, and she swung at the Grimm with everything she had. Her claws tore into its stomach, tearing it in half and dissolving it into dust. Through the sounds of fighting she heard Ceyla cry out, her feline ear twitching as she focused on the sound. Kim turned and, eyes narrowed, sprinted towards the sound of her voice. Before she could get to her though, Alburn cried out from the skies and made his way to her. Kim paused and, observing the battlefield, noted a few Krahe circling dangerously towards them. Kim growled, with Leo padding up to her and growling next to her. She turned to her mechanical companion and, with a smile, held out a hand. "You ready my friend?" He meowed in response.
Kim took that to mean yes, and lifted him gently. She held her arm back and, taking aim, threw Leo with all her might at one of the Krahe. He soared through the air and with his aura enhanced claws latched onto its underbelly, tearing into the beast with all his might. It shrieked and rolled, flying in circles attempting to dislodge the sudden, painful attachment to its body. Leo would not let go, and continued tearing into the winged beast as it began spiraling towards the ground. Kim braced herself against the ground and angled herself, green eyes narrowing as she focused on her objective. Then, she launched, and the sounds of mechanical servos firing echoed as she jumped. She went high, higher then anyone should be able to accomplish, and landed upon the back of a Krahe.
She wasted no time, and the bird began crying out as its skin burned under her bare feet. Kim gripped both its wings, lifting them up and sending the bird towards the ground at an alarming pace. Then, with a mad cackle, she pulled with all her might on those appendages. A sickening ripping sound emanated from the wings as she pulled them off the Krahe, the Grimm scratching and clawing at the air in an attempt to tear her off its back. The wings fully separated, and Kim jumped off its back onto another Krahe, coincidentally launching the first one faster towards the ground. This one she killed even faster, slamming her left hand into its back and caving in its bone structure, her arm smashing through its body and coming out the other side, aided of course by her extremely sharp claws.
Kim rode the Grimm's carcass all the way to the ground, and it impacted with a thud. Leo came up to her, looking only a little less active, and meowed happily. She smiled and pet the cat, who purred in response and nuzzled into her hand. "Good boy, who is my favorite monster slayer? You are my favorite monster slayer." She laughed and lifted Leo, spinning him around for a moment before she actually noticed the area around her. Her eyes returned to their normal, round pupiled state and Overheat turned off. The glow on her skin and claws dissipated as she looked around the battlefield, finding Alburn cradling Ceyla not far off. She decided it was best not to intervene and, with a final glance backwards, continued with the rest of the soldiers towards their objective.

Despite the subtle light of the sky flooding her senses, Ceyla’s world remained relatively dark as she struggled to snap out of her stupor. Most of what she could hear had to fight off an intense ringing in her ears as her blood pressure skyrocketed, while also trying to shrug off the immense pain firing off throughout her body. Her muscles jerked, subtle enough to be unnoticeable to whoever was nearby. She could hear the sounds of the demolition crew reaching their objective, resulting in a painful sigh of relief. The silence remained until she felt someone close to her, followed by a familiar voice. "Don't leave me.” It was Alburn, having discovered her in the aftermath of her battle with the Graylich.
"Ceyla, open your eyes... d-don't do this to me." He pleaded as he gently touched her face. Despite best efforts, she couldn’t open her eyes enough to offer a viable response to his request. She remained quiet, fighting to give him some sort of sign that she was okay - that she was alive and wouldn’t die. "I NEED YOU, GOD DAMN IT!" His cries made her heart feel heavy, and as he turned away to face the Grimm, tears began streaming down her face. “A-…Al-…” She said quietly, coughing as she forced out his name. There wasn’t enough Aura left in her to utilize her Semblance to the same effect she had early in the battle, so she focused it in healing her wounds as best as possible.
That didn’t change the immense pain, though.
Reaching for her revolver nearby, Ceyla slowly went about reloading the gun before pointing towards the Grimm that had tried to get a jump on Alburn while he had tended to her. One bullet fired, the sound echoing through the air as the projectile punched a whole through the white mask of one Barghest. Another round went off, ripping through the front leg of another. The beast howled as if in pain, locking its eyes on Alburn as if intending to attack him as a means of getting back at her for the inconvenience. “I-…I think I lost count of how many of them I’ve killed.” She said with a pained giggle. “Odd, I’m usually better about…paying attention and all that…”
Managing to stand, Ceyla’s breathing became heavy as she coughed up a small amount of blood. She had to get to the magma veins beyond the wall. It was now or never, and she absolutely did not consider the latter an option. “I’ll be back, I promise.” She told him, turning away and running after the soldiers that carried the explosives before Alburn had a chance to respond. When she arrived, they had finished preparing the trap. Luckily, none of the Grimm had followed her, being occupied by the rest of the team. “Okay, guys, get back there and help them out. I’ll take care of things from here.” Ceyla ordered. The men listened, rejoining the battle behind the city’s walls.
Preparing her Semblance to throw her upward when the Grimm attacked, Ceyla removed the Void Dust crystals from her pocket and looked at them, scrutinizing every little detail about the pitch black crystal as she did so. With a reluctant sigh, she raised her hand to the sky above, her Aura triggering the effects of the Dust within. It was a gentle flicker at first, mostly black. Eventually, it began to spark like electricity, with a blood red hue mixing in with the darkness. Then, almost like a beacon, a powerful bolt shot into the air. With it came unfathomable pain, forcing Ceyla to cry out. Her voice carried into the city, drawing attention from the Hunters that had accompanied her - and more importantly the Grimm.
The creatures of darkness set their sights on her, each of them ignoring the Hunters and their attacks as they plowed through the walls - towards Ceyla. Her mind became flooded with images - omens of events to come. She had heard stories of Void Dust driving people to madness, a result of supposed glimpses of a dark future. This had happened when she collided with that Graylich, too - which she presumed was a result of the Void Dust being activated by some of the rubble that fell on her. Was this the future? Two banners flashed into view. She recognized one as the flag of Vytal, while the other seemed…strange. The figure upon it was similar to that of the White Fang emblem, but so different at the same time. This was the emblem of the “cult” of Saint Ashes.
A battlefield, consumed by sand, set the stage for a clash of historical proportions. Two figures stood among settling dust and immense winds. One she immediately identified as Aisio Pendragon, her friend from Legion. The other, though she didn’t know them personally, was still familiar. At first, she couldn’t figure out why. As she regarded details about the cloaked figure staring the Huntress down, things became more and more clear. From the ”Æ” embroidered into their cloak, to the twisted weapon in their hand. The vision reached its climax when the figure pulled down their hood and removed the reddened bandages from his face.
It was the man Aisio had fought in Rift.
The vision immediately ceased, causing Ceyla to let out a loud gasp for air as the Grimm drew closer. “Now!” She cried out, her order reaching the ears of the nearby explosives experts. No hesitation followed, and a massive explosion echoed throughout the city. Ceyla’s Semblance activated, throwing her high into the air, using the blast to propel herself even higher. The Grimm, as planned dove into the now erupted vein of molten rock and fire, consumed by it and leaving nothing behind. Even the Krahe couldn’t resist the beckoning call of the Void Dust, diving into the fiery depth below.
Completely exhausted, Ceyla plummeted towards the ground, only slightly conscious as she took note of the area she would be landing. ’I wonder…will he be there to catch me?’ She asked herself, closing her eyes as she sped towards the surface below.

Raising his weapon, and grounding himself in order to ensure a stable footwork, Alburn prepared to retailate with a strike of his own the moment his eyes would catch the creatures' hostilities towards him and the downed hunter. One of the creatures rushed up to him, he cut it down with ease - followed by one after another, continously repelling their assault, all the while taking the attacks from them to shield Ceyla. It almost seemed as if they knew he wouldn't be able to keep this up for much longer. As another Barghest fell before his gunblade, he gasped for air as numerous lacerations on his body too desperately mended by his aura begun to reopen. Blood poured forth from his wounds, and stained his clothing with his own life. Even as the lion was on his last legs, his eyes still yet burned with the will to fight. The lion still had his fangs. Even as his body protested, Alburn shakily got up and attempted to level the Second Sun up to his body, but as he did so, another Barghest had attempted to take advantage of this opening to land a decisive blow to finish him off for good. His eyes widened, attempted to bring his weapon up for counter. No good, he thought, I won't make it, but if that thing is going to try and eat me. I will make it choke first. With its jaws inches away from his face, several thoughts flashed through his head. Only if I'd been faster, he thought, Only if I'd paid more attention, none of this would've happened. However, before its ivory fangs could reach him, a sound of gunshot went off behind his back and made the creature retract - or perhaps, the better wording would be... blown away. Almost a third of the creature's head was blown clean off. Its mask was torn apart, and the exit wound sprayed a great deal amounts of its gelatinous gray substance and life blood on the concrete ground before finally collasping. This could've been only done by a high-powered caliber pistol round of a practiced hand. Before he could look behind him, another gunshot went off, abruptly stopping another Grimm from approaching in order to avenge its already fallen brother. It howled quite desperately, its crimson eyes glared at Alburn, but within its reflection he could see someone was behind him. Alburn turned. "Ceyla?" “I-…I think I lost count of how many of them I’ve killed.” She giggled, but it sounded strained. He wanted to tell her to rest. To sit so that he can take care of the rest, but no words came out of his mouth. He was too shocked to find her standing, especially in the sort of condition that she was in, but seeing this, he almost felt something rolling down his cheek. He could tell if it was either a tear - or his own sweat causing this “Odd, I’m usually better about…paying attention and all that…” "You can brag about how much you've killed later. Let's go get your wounds looked at." To be honest, he wasn't looking all that much better himself, but his worry was on Ceyla over his own. She had to live. Not only because he loved her, but because she was also the symbol of the Legion. Where else would people place their hopes on in these dark times? The will of the people would fall without her. The Kingdom would be sent to turmoil. It was when she coughed blood out of her mouth. Alburn's eyes widened in surprise as he held her up in his arms to keep her from falling again. “I’ll be back, I promise.” Before he could refuse her from doing so, she easily shrugged off from his grasp and sped off back into the battlefield. Cursing under his breath, Alburn sprinted after her, but unlike him - she was faster. Much faster. He knew this when he first fought her, but he didn't know she could run that fast, or was it him who was beginning to slow down? As he cut his way through hordes of Grimm once again, he began to notice something strange in their behavior. They stopped attacking and turned their attention elsewhere. Towards Ceyla. No... was she doing what he thought he was? Acting as a beacon for them? GODDAMN IT! Alburn put power into his legs and propelled himself forward with all his might. Moments later, explosion followed, and he saw a figure of Ceyla being propelled through the air like a rocket. "NO, GODDAMN IT!" He screamed, " What the hell is she thinking?!" Alburn desperately looked all around him. There was nothing he could use to catch her. At the rate she'd be falling, she'd be looking like a roadkill before he could possibly catch her. Using last bits of his own aura, he activated his semblance and crouched as he turned the revolving chamber of his weapon. Then, putting all of his power into his legs, he shot himself up into the air, continously pulling on the trigger of his weapon as he did so. The series of explosion which followed continued to shoot him through the air. Faster. Ever higher, and when Ceyla was at arm's reach, he grappled onto her and slammed his gunblade into the high wall to slow their decent down. Kim advanced with the group, and stayed close to Ceyla in an attempt to keep her safe. She was the one with the void dust, and the know how to use it to draw in the Grimm. But then she pulled the dark crystals from her pocket, and Kim hissed, gripping her left arm. The glow on it began pulsating, gaining a purple tint and sending pain arcing through her body. Leo yelped loudly, his aura barrier turning purple and shattering, the mechanical cat himself running away. Kim felt herself move more slowly, her processing slower, and she didn't realize that Ceyla had ordered the explosion fast enough. She had already begun moving by the time the explosion went off, but it wasn't enough, and she was hit by the force of the blast in the back. Her aura took the majority of the blow, and she went flying forward and impacted the ground nearby. She stood, Grimm flying past her towards the haunting draw of the void dust.
Then her temperature gauge shot into the danger zone, and her aura began rapidly depleting. Looking down, her feet were standing in the magma incinerating the Grimm, and she rushed to solid ground immediately. She was lucky that she couldn't feel temperature, and that her body was innately resistant to extreme heat. It meant that with the help of her remaining aura she was able to survive a few moments within the molten liquid, and she couldn't feel the pain of it. She reached a hand down and brushed ashes off her slightly blackened feet, sighing as she did so. Her aura had been almost completely spent to protect her from the magma and the explosion, but they had won. Grimm were still making their way to their doom because of the call of the void dust, and Kim dropped into a sit, her claws retracting and the light of her arm returned to a normal color.
Leo crawled up to her and curled into her lap, Kim petting him gently. "This is a good way to come into this new world. We saved many people today Leo." Leo meowed at her and continued to nuzzle into her hand. Kim laughed, standing and placing him upon her shoulder. She started to walk around and assist soldiers where she could, in any way she was able. Whether that was lifting something that was pinning them, carrying them to someone who could mend them, or anything in between she helped. "We did well my friend. We did good." She smiled at her mechanical companion, who stared back at her for a moment. Then he stuck his robotic tongue out and licked her on the nose, causing her to laugh and rub his head playfully.
