| TAKE ME TO VALHALLA WHERE MY BROTHERS WAIT FOR ME | |
As the Officer took the suggestion of going to the belltower for a map, he briefly scratched the underside of his chin at the thought of going all the way there just to plan out their assault. No, that'd take too long. There's no time to waste. he thought. There had to be some other way. Anything. Think Alburn, think! However, when a woman that caught his attention not too long ago was brought over as per Ceyla's request, his attention was brought to her. Fortunately, this woman named 'Kim' was no ordinary Huntress - rather an android, probably specifically meant for combating Grimm. It was actually a good thing that someone like her was on their side. They could use all the homefield advantage they could possibly get. There was a brief ringing in his Scroll. Alburn quickly brought it up to recieve the data that was transferred to his device. "That should do it, I have uploaded the map to your scrolls. Clover felt I should know more about the city before I arrived, so he uploaded everything he could find about it to me." Clover...? Ah, that must've been that strange machinery that he caught wondering about with her. Then as she extended her hand out for a shake, the young Officer took it and briefly shook as a form of greeting. Despite the awkward, strained-looking smile on her face, he didn't mind it too much. "My name is Kim by the way, rebuilt mechanical weapon found derelict in a cave a month back. Pleasure to meet you." "Alburn, a Police Officer of the Legion." Now with the brief introductions out of the way, Alburn turned his attention back to Ceyla to hear out what she had to say. “You handled that very well, Alburn. I’ll be sure to remember the good work once we get home.” The male shook his head in response, almost as if to say this wasn't the time, but Ceyla seemed to realize this and imemdiately turned her mind to the battle that was raging all around them. “Back to the matter at hand, though. I think it’d be wise for us to make our way to the eastern edge of town. If we could somehow draw the Grimm there, we can take advantage of some of the magma veins that sit just a little ways beyond the city wall.” Pull the Grimm to magma veins that was sitting beyond the city wall without damaging the public property more than it already was and let them burn to their own demise without exherting more energy than needed? It was a brilliant plan, as expected by Ceyla, but these creatures that they were dealing with weren't exactly beings of nature that could so simply be herded like sheep. If that were the case, anyone would've come up with this kind of solution a long time ago long before this city was attacked. "And, just how are we planning on doing that?" Alburn inquired, "I can't imagine them being so willingly to fall to their own deaths. They aren't so simple as we think they are." The answer to his question was actually a lot simpler than he'd initially imagined: “Void Dust. It’s not readily available anywhere, but I know some is kept at the Monastery in the event something like this happens. If we can get there, my father will help us. I’m sure of it.” The Void Dust.... They were perhaps the most controversial form of Dust which often led to questionable usage between the four kingdoms. Its effects were so dangerous that series of rock solid prohibitions were placed on it to keep it from falling into the wrong hands, but like Ceyla said, the Monastery was indeed in posession of such items. As Kim asked, it was indeed illegal just to keep them, but not if they were in the right hands. Only the select few percentage of population of Remnant was known to be in posession of them. Technically, they'd be breaking the law if they knocked on the door and asked Cela Monastery to just hand it over without the right papers to claim it, but issues of legality was not something that could be asked at such times. Desperate times often called for desperate solutions. Even as a Police Officer, Alburn was well aware of such fact. They had lives to save. BGM;; The Key We've LostLike Ceyla said, it was going to get messy. They were going to cut their way out of the city, make their way through hordes of Grimm that surrounded it, knock on the door to the monastery and then come back. Alburn wasn't so sure if the command post would hold until that time, but this was no time for doubts. With determination burning within his dark eyes, Alburn double checked on the revolving chamber of his weapon and setting it back into the gunblade. "Alright, we're going to go with the Prime Minister's plan on this one! All Hunter teams, form up on us! We're going to spearhead the assault, and cut our way through the city! If any of you fall behind, then know this: We will NOT come back for you. Stragglers WILL be left behind, and that'll be the end of the line." He placed the gunblade on his shoulder before turning his attention towards Ceyla, "You're the only person who probably knows the location of where we are heading. I'll be right beside you." -- Remaining Usage for Rounds in Chamber -- - 4x Red; (11/12) - 1x Green; (3/3) - 1x Orange; (2/3) Active AP: 630/650

Kim nodded to Ceyla's explanation, staring into nothingness as she contemplated things. That made sense, but if both Divine and Void were in a grey zone, that meant that she was only quasi legal in how she was built. Kim wasn't sure how to feel about that, but she didn't really have a chance to continue debating. Alburn took charge and began ordering people around, something Kim knew was fine with but made her feel, slightly defiant. She shook her head and pushed those thoughts out of her head, instead choosing to nod and extend her claws. Three inches of silvery metal shot out of each fingertip, the five on her left arm glowing with the same light as the arm they belonged to. She turned Overheat up slightly, her skin taking on a slight red tint as her metal claws turned blue with heat. This was the equivalent of a hunter preparing their weapon for Kim, but the way she did it looked very aggressive. As Alburn spoke to Ceyla, Kim couldn't help but pipe up. "Actually, I know where we are going as well. Programmed map and everything." She tapped her head with a smile on her face, looking oddly triumphant with herself. Leo meowed and crawled off her shoulder, instead padding along next to Kim as she walked beside Ceyla.

Continuing to wander the abandoned city the void dust on his person made him feel uneasy, as if he was being stalked. Running as fast as he could he made his way around town till he came across a group of three and ran to them. "Y'all shouldn't be here, always calmest before the storm." he said as calmly as he could. If they were to look at him they'd only see a monk who had ventured from the monastery. "the monastery is currently gathering any stragglers, they should be fine in the safety of the Monastery, you should evacuate." he continued to protest but his way of speak was very informal as he didn't know who he was talking to. Out of one of his pockets a black shine could be seen as the sunlight hit his open pocket as some of the black dust could be seen if one would look at his pocket.

This was really happening. She was going home.
A little anxious, Ceyla sighed to let off a little steam. It had been so long since she had seen home, so long since she had seen her father and her friends. She wondered how much had changed in the last few years, and if people would even remember her - or if they’d even recognize her without her tail. It was only a matter of time until the wheels of fate pointed her back to the Monasteries, and given the way things were going in the world now, she figured now was as good a time as any. "Alright, we're going to go with the Prime Minister's plan on this one! All Hunter teams, form up on us! We're going to spearhead the assault, and cut our way through the city!” Alburn’s voice echoed over the square.
Thank god he was there, ready and willing to stay by her side. He was right though, despite her not wanting that added pressure. She was the only one that knew exactly where they were going, and she knew it wouldn’t be a pleasant trip. The catacombs - the fastest way to the monastery from the city - were twisted and treacherous by design. It was the only reason Cela had never been sacked by enemies - it’s location. "Actually, I know where we are going as well. Programmed map and everything." Kim chimed in, but Ceyla smiled awkwardly as she shook her head in response. “The way we have to take there isn’t recorded on maps, because it’s the only thing that keeps the monasteries safe.” Ceyla corrected her. “We have to travel through what they call the Ribcage around here.”
Snickering at the name, she opened up her Scroll to show how the area they would be heading was blank on maps. This was a law passed long ago - even before her father’s time. “There’s a series of catacombs not far from here that lead through the underbelly of the temples, leading to a large door just before the main building.” She continued, using her finger to draw a crude map of the catacombs. “They call it ‘the Ribcage’ because of a rock formation just outside the entrance. It’s dangerous, definitely full of Grimm. We have to be prepared.” With another calming huff of air, Ceyla stuffed her Scroll away before drawing her sword. It was time to move.
"Y'all shouldn't be here, always calmest before the storm." An unfamiliar voice from behind interjected. "The monastery is currently gathering any stragglers, they should be fine in the safety of the Monastery, you should evacuate." Ceyla turned to the source of the voice, identifying the source as a young man. Early twenties, he seemed, dark hair with gold-colored eyes. He seemed to know his way around, which was good. At least he’d be safe. “We’re actually on our way to the Monasteries now.” She revealed, resting the broad side of her sword against her shoulder (in a similar manner to Alburn). A subtle glow emitted from the boy’s pocket, which she took note of immediately. Her hand moved towards her holstered revolver, whipping it out and aiming at the boy with a stern glare.
“What’s in your pocket?”

Looking at the revolver pointed at him, Kradec spoke calmly. "Void dust." he explained wrapping his hands in his sleeves and took out two handfuls of void crystal. "I took it from the monastery to use as a distraction and pull any Grimm away from the town allowing the other monks to gather up stragglers and get them to safety." Kradec said seemingly with good intention, his true purpose was hidden deep inside and would be nearly impossible to find out. Putting the dust back into his pockets he raised his hands. "I don't mean any harm now please holster the gun." He said looking the lady in the eyes with his golden eyes and a smile. Kradec also looked to the other two to make sure they weren't drawing weapons on him as well, can never be too careful in these times. Kradec's posture was very straight as if he was relaxed but hiding tension.

| TAKE ME TO VALHALLA WHERE MY BROTHERS WAIT FOR ME | |
Though their newly-met companion actually seemed to be well aware of where they were heading, Ceyla, actually coming directly from the Cela Monastery itself knew a much better route. From what he'd heard, the Monastery was actually isolated from the touch of the civilization - or any of the four kingdoms for that matter, making them secluded high in the mountains, only accessible via airship. However, instead of procuring an aircraft, they indeed had a way to get there by foot, and potentially, much faster. “There’s a series of catacombs not far from here that lead through the underbelly of the temples, leading to a large door just before the main building,” She explained, “They call it ‘the Ribcage’ because of a rock formation just outside the entrance. It’s dangerous, definitely full of Grimm. We have to be prepared.”Great. There always had to be a catch to every plan, but there was no way around it. This was the only possible option they had to retake the city from Grimm, and save the lives many before any more were lost. If the rock formations that Ceyla spoke of were indeed formed as he thought they were, it'd be prime points for ambush by Grimm big and small. Going in there unprepared would only mean disaster, but they had no time. It meant they would have to go in there blind, ready to face off against any unforeseen dangers. "We don't have time to worry about the dangers we're going to be facing," Alburn urged, "If we're going to go, then we have to go. Now." However, Alburn's attention was ripped away from Ceyla when a stranger dressed monk robes came up to them. Immediately, out of habit, the Officer started profiling his overall appearance. The younger man was no doubt in his early-to-mid twenties, had a pair of golden eyes that made him stand out from the crowd, unlike the rest. However, for a monk, his way of speaking threw him off a little and got him asking if he truly was someone from the monasteries, especially from his explanation: "Y'all shouldn't be here, always calmest before the storm. The monastery is currently gathering any stragglers, they should be fine in the safety of the Monastery, you should evacuate." “We’re actually on our way to the Monasteries now.” "We're on our way there, now." Alburn and Ceyla spoke in unison, but the woman seemed to take notice of something. The Officer knew that glint within her crimson eyes, which brought his attention towards the pocket that gave off an odd shimmer. Unlike the Prime Minister, the male wasn't so quick to bring out his weapon and point it at him to forcefully reveal it. Before he could possibly ask what it was, the revolver-toting woman demanded that the monk ought to reveal what was in his pocket. "Void Dust," The man explained to them as he pulled out a handful of black crystals in his pocket, "I took it from the monastery to use as a distraction and pull any Grimm away from the town allowing the other monks to gather up stragglers and get them to safety."Alburn's eyes narrowed. It was actually hard to imagine any monks coming down - let alone to middle of a city to pull the Grimm's attention. If this monk was trying to pull the Grimm's attention, then why was he here? If there were more monks here, then why didn't he see any more of them around? The Officer's eyes narrowed his dark eyes in suspicion at the monk's statement. However, did they truly have any time to be asking accusations towards this stranger? Surely, even Ceyla must realize that. With that, the Alburn gently rested his free hand against the barrel of the revolver which Ceyla was holding in her hands, pleading for her to lower it. "We don't have time for this, Ceyla." He urged, "Who this man is - and what his intentions are is going to have to come later. He doesn't look to be our enemy, not at this moment, at least. Comon', let's get going." -- Remaining Usage for Rounds in Chamber -- - 4x Red; (11/12) - 1x Green; (3/3) - 1x Orange; (2/3) Active AP: 630/650

"Void Dust." The young man responded directly to her inquiry. Her finger stayed on the trigger, though her grip on the revolver tightened as she watched him reveal two handfuls of the blackened crystals. What a dolt, handling something so dangerous. Ceyla furrowed her brow at the sight, shaking her head with a disappointed sigh. "I took it from the monastery to use as a distraction and pull any Grimm away from the town allowing the other monks to gather up stragglers and get them to safety." He added with a smile, his golden eyes set on her own. His place in the sights of her gun, however, remained. Not only had he stolen from the Monasteries, which was a crime in and of itself, but he had also stolen Void Dust of all things.
It would be Alburn’s hand that spared the young man’s life, for the moment. As his hand eased down the barrel of her gun, Ceyla let out another sigh - this one clearly disgruntled. "We don't have time for this, Ceyla." He urged her. "Who this man is - and what his intentions are is going to have to come later. He doesn't look to be our enemy, not at this moment, at least. Comon', let's get going." With a quick huff, Ceyla stuffed the revolver back into its holster, staring the young man down as she did so. “You’re right. We don’t have time for this.” She replied. Her hand extended towards the young man, palm up. She had noted him stuffing the crystals back into his pocket, but the facts remained - it was illegal for him to have them.
Having them in their possession would cut out a lot of unnecessary time, too.
“Relinquish the Void Dust now.” She instructed in a stern tone. “If you cooperate, then there’s a good chance I can mitigate any chargers that would be issued against you for breaking the law.” As soon as she had the Dust in hand, they could make their way to the magma veins. She wondered how many Grimm were in the city, as the explosions from the defense force paired with the screams of the monsters continued to pierce the usually quiet streets. Up above, a group of Krahe had started circling overheard, the largest of them - roughly three times that of normal - locking its beady red eyes on the group.
The time to move was now. Participants must take 100 AP of damage for late posting. Alburn Redgrave is safe due to advanced notice of absence.

Being told to give up his crystals he handed them over carefully. "I advise getting out of here." Kradec said walking away in the direction of his clothes and where he could escape the scene as he still had silverware and a few "sacred trinkets" in his pockets . He best get out of there before the monks find out he robbed them. Looking back to them he had no real reason to stick around though the one who mentioned "Her programming" interested Kradec as he had a curiosity for technology.

Alburn sighed out of relief when Ceyla lowered her weapon, which in itself helped ease her temper. Had the Monastery not been her home, it was probable that she wouldn’t have taken this young man’s attempt to steal from it so personally. That, however, was the hand they both were dealt. Thankfully, the young man offered the Void Dust to her, and Ceyla inspected it quickly to ensure it was legitimate. The pitch black crystals seemed to suck the light in, having sharp edges that could cut with a single glance. Just holding them in her hand, in fact, was enough to make her feel ill. It was fascinating how something so deadly could be so beautiful.
"I advise getting out of here." The young man said as he walked away.
“Thank you for your cooperation, sir!” She shouted after him with a wave, before stuffing the crystals into a small pouch looped to her belt. She turned her attention back to Alburn and Kim, as well as the group that had built up around them. This was their team now. Ceyla took a quick head count - totaling seventeen people, counting the three of them. Hopefully that would be all they need. “Alright, guys. Let’s get going.” She said with a nervous huff. The team followed, with Ceyla leading and Alburn just behind her. The two of them remained close, the group following nearby. She could hear the Grimm. Motioning for the group to stop, Ceyla looked back at everyone with a crooked smile.
“Well, guys, this is it. The last push before we reach the veins.” She said, trying to remain confident-sounding. She pointed out two young men in particular, both of which carried large canisters. “You two stay close. We’re going to need those explosives ready to go once the Grimm are coming after us. The rest of you will have to provide cover.” Her eyes shifted over to Kim, nodding in her direction. “Having you with us is going to make this a lot easier than it would’ve been without.” She said. “Thank you for being here. I appreciate it.” All her attention shifted to Alburn, raising a hand to touch his face. “Promise me you’ll be okay. I need you to come out of this okay.” She pleaded, before quickly pressing her lips against his.
To avoid making a scene, she retreaded right away, nodding at the group as she drew her sword. “Alright, team. Let’s go!” She directed them. One after another, the group poured into the streets, targeting the Grimm that had seemingly waited for them to make themselves known. Ceyla targeted a Barghest, choosing to pick away the smallest of the monsters in an effort to get herself to the wall as quickly as possible. As long as they kept those explosives safe, everything would go according to plan. She just prayed everyone else could stay on top of the Grimm, in the meantime.

Kim kept herself at a distance from the Void Dust, her left arm hurting slightly in proximity to it. Leo hissed at it and did the same, it seemed that the Divine Dust in both of their construction was reacting a little negatively to the presence of its exact antithesis. She shook her head and smiled, making no response to the exchange between the monk, Ceyla, and Alburn. It wasn't her place, not only did she not know enough about the world, but she had no true position of power to make demands from. When Ceyla thanked her for being here, for helping, Kim merely laughed and shook her head. "No, thank you Ceyla, I will assist however I am able. It is kind of you to allow me to do so." Shortly after that, they were off, with the sounds of Grimm right in their path. The monsters seemed to be waiting for them the moment they arrived, something Kim was perfectly fine with.
A savage smile hit her features, overheat turning up and giving her skin a visible red shine, and her claws a blistering white glow. The heat rolling off of them were visible and tangible, the heat waves rippling through the air. Her white aura shimmered around her and flowed into Leo, who become enveloped in a white shell taking on the shape of a large cat. He roared, a loud noise not befitting of a machine his size, and the both of them charged. Kim chose a Graylich as her target, cackling madly as she advanced. This was what she was built to do, to fight, to hunt, to hurt, to kill. Grimm, of course, she was obviously built to fight Grimm, but that didn't matter now, she was too engrossed in the moment.
She got right up next to the large Grimm, Leo leaping at its face as Kim swung at his chest. Her companion clawed at the Grimm's face, hissing and spitting as it did so, while Kim swung both claws in an attempt to tear the armor off its chest. She swung like a demon, rapid hits with no mercy or remorse, in fact she smiled wildly as she did this. She made a break in the armor, the Graylich roaring and growling at the feline assaulting its face, and reached up to pull him off. Leo yelped as he was grabbed by the massive claws and thrown away. "Leo!" Kim cried after her companion, who meowed and stood, then snarled at his attacker. She raised the torch and plunged it through the crack in its armor, glowering at it while she lifted the entire weight of the beast on her arm. The scent of sizzling fur emanated from the Grimm, which attempted to swing at her. She deflected with her other claw, snarling at it and throwing it away. It flew towards a nearby Barghest and slammed into it, dissolving both of them into ashes.
