CHARACTER NAME |
★ APPEARANCE
Kim’s most obvious feature would be her left arm, replaced when she was reforged by Legion scientists. It is a fully metallic piece, composed of a silvery metal that shimmers and shines in light. In fact, it actively produces light like a torch, glowing with an inhuman radiance that is evidence of the trace amount of Divine dust used in its crafting. She clocks in at 5’5, and appears to be rather lithe and light, though the copious amounts of heavy metal used in her creation cause her to weigh close to 250 pounds. Her black hair is long and curly, having restyled it after being remade, and atop her head is one feline faunus ear, and a stump where a second once sat. These are covered in black fur the same color as her hair. Her eyes are a piercing green, and when she gets focused the pupils in them slit as she does so. Her features are very angular, and when she extends them her claws are long, pointed, and the same shimmering silver as her left arm, though her right claws do not glow.
Kim’s robotic nature is much more apparent than it was when she was originally built, with a massive robotic arm and the normal skin on her right leg being replaced with silvery metal. Her knees, hips, elbows, and shoulders have visible motors and gears, swapping the space for skin for these to increase her physical abilities. She tends to walk around in a light blue blouse, with a much darker navy blue jacket covering the majority of her arms. Her black pants are loose without drooping, but they aren’t tight enough to impede movement. She doesn’t like shoes, for some reason she always prefered feeling the ground beneath her. Along with that her fighting style and overheating capabilities give her reason to expose her bare feet when she fights.
★ PERSONALITY
★ HISTORY
Kim’s history is completely unknown, in fact the start of anything anybody knows about her will be in rp when she is found derelict in a cave. However, there is history that is pretty much out of character, and there will be a part between her being found and her being able to start rping that people will know, so all of that will be detailed below. Once again, the only thing anybody will know will be her life being rebuilt in a legion lab, and her being found in a cave. Everything else is primarily out of character knowledge to establish a baseline for her personality and experience. Also to note, she was created as F.A.T.E, so any references to Fate or F.A.T.E or referring to the same character.
A millennia ago, before humanity ventured into the mountains, the violent faunus rights group The White Fang raided an Atlesian science facility and stole their research on utilizing the forces of heat against the creatures of Grimm. For four years the Fang’s scientists studied the research, until finally they were able to create a prototype of their own, coupled with other research on artificial intelligence and aura. Soon, the Feline Autonomous Thermodynamic Experiment was born, codenamed Project F.A.T.E. This creation was meant to usher in new strength to their cause, to protect them from the hunters who would try to stop them and strike back at the ones who got away. So she trained for two years after being built in everything she needed to know, from history to subterfuge and combat.
Soon the Fang realized that Fate was very good at the art of lying, and more importantly she was designed to look like just another faunus, being a relatable idol to rally around. So they decided to implant her into one of the hunter schools, specifically into Titan Academy as a normal faunus named Omega Fate. She got through her years in Titan, growing attached to a few humans who could look past her faunus nature and enjoy her company for who she was, not what she was. Her robotic nature was revealed halfway through her third year, and yet some of the people still cared for her despite it. Come graduation, she was hesitant to follow through on the plan to assault the event with the Fang.
But she was a loyal soldier, she was built and programmed that way, so she let them in a back way. It was a massacre, ending in the deaths of many White Fang members and hunters alike. Fate found herself regretting making the decision, wanting to turn it around, wanting to change it. But she couldn’t, and the Fang shut down her mechanical mind and took her back to be upgraded. They had figured out how to make her more powerful, more dangerous, and most importantly more compliant. So she was upgraded, her robotic body more clearly shown and acquiring a semblance of her own. She fought with the Fang for years, all the way up until dust stopped working and humanity was driven into the mountains.
Fate was abandoned, torn apart by Grimm and finding solace in a cave before shutting down. The cave became a nest for a Deatheater, the centipede Grimm finding Fate’s old body to be a fitting trophy and guarding it closely. She stayed like this for a thousand years, all the way up until a group of hunters found her and brought her back to Legion, the closest kingdom, where she was worked on by their scientists. This event will be rped, and will be known to the people there, as well as a few who have the means or reason to find out. However, upon being examined it was discovered that her memory banks had been completely corroded, leaving no information on any time before she was booted back up. Thus there is no recollection of the time she originally hails from, before humanity was driven into the mountains.
It took the scientists a month to fully rebuild her. Her left arm was gone, as was her left cat ear. Her remaining claws were all dull, and some of them were bent and cracked. The skin on her right leg was rusted, and all her metallic joints were breaking down. Worst of all, she was completely out of power and fuel, suffering from the equivalent of bleeding out. Luckily, her aura and semblance generators just needed to be rebooted, but everything else was rebuilt. Advances in robotics allowed them to replace all of her grey, steel like metal bits with a stronger metal of a shimmering silver. The scientists decided to experiment, and in creating her replacement arm infused it with a tiny amount of Divine dust. The details of what this did will be stated in her weapon and semblance sections.
When Fate woke up, nobody knew what to call her. All her files were corrupted, and there wasn’t a soul alive who could recall her creation. So one of the lead scientists, an old man by the name of Clover, named the robot after his deceased huntress daughter. So Fate was renamed as Kim, and sent to Vytal academy for monitoring and training. Now Kim waits at Vytal, constantly monitored by scientist and hunter alike, all of them hoping that she will prove to be an ally. All Kim wants to do now is prove her loyalty and trustworthiness, so she can go fight the Grimm and protect those who can’t protect themselves. Her passion is to protect, to help, and to save. Of course, she still possesses some lingering resentment towards humans, and more specifically those who are prejudiced against faunus.

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPONS
Kim’s primary weapon is, well, Kim. Her body is extremely heavy, and all her training focuses on using it to her advantage. However, the weight of her body does not make her slow, in fact all the things that weigh her down are made to speed her up more. As such she is very fast, very agile, and very strong. Of course, the truly devastating part of her arsenal are her claws. Each 3 inches in length, these very long and thin blades extend out of each hand with extreme sharpness and durability. They can take hits from Grimm as well as any shield, and they can cut through their armor better than some weapons. Most importantly though, they conduct heat extremely well while not being damaged by it.
This is important because of one of the ancient systems within Kim, called Overheat. This allows her to pump her systems’ heat production up, with all the excess heat pouring into her skin and claws. This has two things closely associated with it, the first being that her skin is extremely heat resistant and she can’t physically feel temperature. She can read and interpret it from sensors, but the feeling isn’t possible, the nerves just aren’t there. More importantly though, it causes her skin to become blisteringly hot, and her claws to get even hotter. While active Overheat causes her claws to glow white with heat, the temperature normally high enough to burn through wood and thin metal with ease, and at higher temperatures she could slowly melt thick steel. However, activating Overheat puts a strain on her systems, and too much will cause them to start shutting down and her motors to start locking up.
Of course, even without overheat Kim has more than just her claws at her disposal. Most primarily is her left arm, which she calls The Torch. The Torch is a pure mechanical beast of an arm, made entirely of shimmering silver metal and laced with Divine dust. This Divine dust was used up in the forging of the arm, meaning she can’t use the powers of the dust but instead the Torch has unique properties, most obvious is the fact that it constantly glows with light. This light is bright and white, and can’t be turned off. It can be muffled and covered, but the light is still bright underneath its covers. It also ties directly to her semblance, which I will explain in that section. The most important, however, is that it makes the Torch and its claws hit just a little bit harder than normal, not much though. In terms of numbers, an attack from her left arm would do about 5 more points of aura damage then an attack from her right from the Divine dust alone. However, the Torch is a fully weaponized arm, and as such has simply stronger physical prowess than her right arm. So the actual damage increase is closer to 15-25, 10-20 from the arm itself and 5 from the Divine dust.
MISC.
Kim’s physique is above and beyond the normal limits of man, she is extremely strong, extremely fast, extremely agile, and extremely tough. Of course she has plenty of weaknesses inherent in being a robot. Electrical attacks are more effective on her for instance, and magnetic forces affect her entire body instead of just what she’s wearing. Along with that, cold attacks or temperatures can rapidly freeze her systems and slow her down, though heat is something she is resistant to do to Overheat. However, her aura isn’t compatible with any kind of dust but Divine, and the only reason she can use Divine is because of her left arm. The ancient construction of her aura systems were unable to funnel the power into dust, so she can’t utilize dust with her own aura.
Kim’s aura radiates reckless hope, and though it is an artificial aura that does not make it any less strong. Her aura has incredible defensive capability, and while it can’t heal her wounds the sheer protective nature of it generally means it doesn’t have to. Her aura abilities are also rather limited, not only due to her robotic form but also because her training is ancient and also mostly forgotten, purely instinctual now. She has offensive and defensive enhancement, the offensive being able to either increase the size, strength, or speed of her claws for 4 aura points-she can do any combination of those for 5 aura points each, combining them is harder than doing just one-or she can slice through the air and send blades of aura towards her opponent for 6 aura points, each expenditure forming three blades in a scratch pattern. Defensive enhancement simply enables her to project small, clawed white shields anywhere within 4 feet of her for 3 aura points each.
Familiar
Fate never had a semblance, the Fang instead faking a semblance in the form of Overheat. When she was reforged as Kim though, the scientists felt the need to give her something. So they built her a companion, a mechanical cat forged similarly to The Torch, with trace amounts of Divine dust. Along with that it had aura distributors built in and a wireless connection to Kim herself, allowing her to effectively transfer her aura into the companion. This fully feline robot was about the size of a housecat and shimmering white, glowing with the same light as Kim’s arm. It’s name is Leo, or at least that’s what Kim began calling him after she awoke, and they quickly bonded and became friends.
The Divine dust and aura distributors mixing led to an interesting combination. Kim can spend her own aura to enhance Leo, activating the aura distributors and dust within him. The scientists expected that to mean it would move faster, get an aura barrier, and maybe get a bit stronger. Instead what happened is a white shell from the Divine dust formed around him and he grew to the size of a bobcat with a sort of “avatar” of aura. However, the aura distributors can only stay active for two hours, and after they deactivate they can’t be reused for another hour.
Kim spends any amount of aura, and Leo grows in size and gains that much as an aura barrier. Once those aura points go away, Leo’s avatar surrounding him disappears and he ends up weak and exhausted. If his aura pool gets fully diminished his aura distributors overwork themselves and break, requiring repairs before they can be used again. However, Kim can dismiss the avatar at any point, causing the timer of one hour to be placed instead. Of course, any aura Leo still has when his avatar is dismissed is gone for good, it does not return to Kim except by the normal means of rest and recovery, not through anything with the semblance. Along with that, the two are wirelessly connected allowing quick communication, but Leo has only the most basic AI programming, acting very much like a trained cat would.
