Episode Two: The Waters of Life
Status: ENDED
Premise:
It came as a surprise that news of the attack on Rift was so late to reach the island of Vytal. Just after New Years, the official report landed on the desk of the city’s Board of Directors, and a massive story was published in the papers the very next day. The inhabitants of the island, including the students and staff, were stunned by the news and the outcome of the battle. It had seemed that Legion seized control of the capital city, but the most distressing news was the execution of the king. Fear and anger began to stir up among the populace, and for a time it seemed like the island was about to erupt into complete anarchy. People began choosing sides, despite Vytal’s history of being a neutral state for so long.
Grimm began to target the island. Spawning somehow out of nowhere, Barghests and Krahe began targeting the outskirts of Vytal’s city. Many died, but ultimately the wave of monsters was pushed back and peace once again fell upon the island. The distraction was enough, it seemed, to mellow out the people and allow some sense to finally make its way into discussions pertaining to Vytal’s official response. While most focused on the attack, a select few grew concerned with what the sudden stir of negative emotions might have stirred up. This, paired with the sudden and - to some - excessive use of Aura was sure to draw in something much worse than the Barghests that targeted the city. Some speculated the legendary Wills would return, but such beliefs were quickly shrugged off as conspiracy.
That is, until news came from the Vytal Oceanic Research Administration.
According to their analysis, significant seismic activity was detected beneath the sea. Some thought this was perhaps a new species of aquatic Grimm, while others began to panic. Was it the Wills? Were the mythical beasts of Remnant’s past preparing for their return? In response to these speculations, the Board of Directors petitioned the construction of a wall around the perimeter of the main city, dubbing it Operation: Waters of Life. Barrier technology that was once utilized on the Amity Colosseum would be implemented into the wall’s design, allowing it to protect the city should the massive dragon-like Grimm surface. In the meantime, Hunters and students on the island were recruited to protect the construction workers from potential Grimm swarms.

Need-to-Know:
- This thread will start as character development, then shift into combat.
- Most enemies will be NPC'd, controlled by a Moderator.
- You must specify whatever equipment your character has on their person in your first post.
- You are expected to post in the thread at least once per day. If you do not post while there is combat occurring, your post will be skipped and you will suffer one-hundred (100) points of Aura damage. If this reduces you to zero Aura, you will be removed from the thread unconscious. Failure to post in non-combat portions of the thread will simply result in being skipped.
- Episode length has not yet been determined.
- This thread is exclusive to Vytal Students or Staff (exceptions for Hunters with good reason).
