Argent smirked as he saw Ciela's blade cleave through the wing, leaving a nearly identical gash to the other. The damage caused he Krahe to rapidly lose altitude, and as soon as it came close enough, Argent made his move. A small clasped hook shot out of his sleeve, attached to a metallic cable, and the cable wrapped around the bird's uninjured leg thrice, before the clasp hit the cable and hooked closed.
As soon as the clasp shut, Argent dove back, the cable snapping tight against the tree limb, and his weight pulling at the Krahe, which struggled to resist it. With a swing, he looped back over the branch, and then once more, taking a perch on the branch again. "Not such hot shit if y'can't fly away, eh, y'big birdy bastard?"
The Krahe struggled roughly against the constraints of the tether, but with injured wings and an injured leg, it stood no chance of escape. Argent's grin grew even more wicked, as his grip on his sword shifted slightly.

Ciela dove under, landing on the forest floor and looking up. So he had a grapple cable handy. That would likely come in useful in the future, when they were fighting together. She looked down at her own legs and her boots, considering how they'd fare if he used his cable to catch on and hang off of her while flying. "I might need new boots..." She muttered to herself, mentally adding it to a checklist of things to ask for when her birthday rolled around again.
But those considerations could happen later. She looked up again, at the Krahe trying to escape with its two wings barely functional. Under normal circumstances, it would likely have just ripped the tree limb off and started dragging her new partner along with it. But she'd taken its wings out, so it was stuck. Given that Argent had just grappled it to a tree, he probably had a plan, so she just folded her wings and plopped to the floor cross-legged, watching. She suddenly wished she had popcorn.

Argent stood upright, switching the Dust cartridge in his sword from a Red to one filled with an inky, shiny black liquid, before sliding his sword back into its sheath. However, unusually, he sheathed the sword backwards, with the edge edge, before snapping the entire thing off of his waist. "From First Gear, straight into Third." As he spoke, the hilt of the sword titled, angled like a firearm's grip, and the end of the sheath opened, forming a weapon resembling a shotgun of sorts. Aiming this new form at the Krahe, Argent revved the handle a few times, before squeezing the trigger to unleash a mass of blackness, vaguely in the shape of a shotgun slug, barreling at the Krahe.
Upon the round's impact, the Krahe cried out, before suddenly becoming extraordinarily heavy, and plummeting downward at high speeds, completely irrelevant of its attempts at stopping. Argent laughed loudly, reverting his weapon to the previous orientation, before then flipping the sheath around, and stuffing the blade into the end. "And then, into Fourth! Sleep tight!" He leaped from the tree, as his weapon shifted form, the small hatchet blade unfolding and rearranging into a massive axe blade, flipping into a large spin before pulling the trigger, making the axe even more excessively heavy as he fell at the plummeting Grimm.
With a sickening sound, the Grimm hit the ground, the sword lodged in its chest shooting up through its body and flying out, landing a few yards away, before Argent dropped onto it, the gleaming blade of his axe, exuding a wicked black mist, crashed into its neck, severing the head in a single clean slash. "There...Looks like tweetie's done for with that. Ci, you wanna grab the sword?"

Ciela needed to pick her jaw up off the floor first. First he'd pulled out a shotgun, hitting the Grimm with some gravity Dust, before beheading it with an ax he suddenly had... If it hadn't been for her goggles, Ciela's eyes might have popped right out of her head. She got up and slowly walked over, picking up the sword and dragging it behind her, before walking up to Argent, staring up at him. For once, she didn't quite feel so insecure about her height.
"That... was... AWESOME!" Ciela suddenly burst up into the air, wings snapping open as she started cartwheeling in circles around Argent babbling at roughly 400 words per minute. "You have a shotgun holy shit that is so cool I need to take a closer look at your weapon also was that Gravity Dust because that was pretty badass but then you have an ax too holy what the hell and then you're talking about third gear and fourth gear and first gear and your weapon has like 90 different forms I seriously need to study that also WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THAT WAS COOL AS FUCK"
It took her a few seconds to finally stop just babbling about various nonsense and take a proper breath. She hovered lazily in front of Argent, goggles up on her forehead, eyes wide, manic smile on her face, staring at him.

As the Grimm faded into vapor, Argent stood, wincing in pain as his legs stretched a bit, having felt a nasty recoil from his landing. Before he had a chance to compose himself, his new partner suddenly burst up in front of him, startling him slightly before he caught what she was saying. "Geez, it's Tony Two-Tongue all over again. Right, in order; It's a combination slug gun and flamethrower, the construction is a private matter, yes it was, the axe is Fourth Gear, the Gears are the different forms, there are only four, no you can't, and I'm just a regular Faunus."
With a sigh, he lifted the axe, pulling the sword from it to revert it to normal before sheathing it and snapping it back to his hip. He'd have to measure his expenditure later, but for now, he simply wrapped the sash back around the sheath, and held out his hand. "I'll carry it. Looks to be a bit heavy."

Ciela's eyes widened even further listening to him explain. "You... have... a... FLAMETHROWER?" She felt just about to burst. If she'd gotten anymore excited at the mention of a single word she likely would have started foaming at the mouth. It certainly wouldn't be the first time (another notable instance was the day she and her father had finished making Cloudburst Queen, with some help from her uncle here and there).
She was practically vibrating where she hovered, the sword from the Grimm's chest upright in front of her, tip on the ground. She noticed Argent's hand first before hearing him ask to carry it, and she took a stronger grip of it, rising a little into the air. "I've got it. I may be... vertically challenged, but I can carry stuff like this." She swung it around, hooking it over the handle to her wing-swords and holding it in place. She made sure to hover high enough so that the sword wouldn't drag on the ground.

A sigh, before Argent turned back away from Ciela. "Have it your way. Let's turn it in and be done with this." Cracking his knuckles, he adjusted his weapon one last time, making sure it was properly stowed before he began walking. They were to meet with the owner of the sword just outside of the Academy, so Argent headed back to the school, not bothering to make sure Ciela was following, since he was certain she was.
Before long, they reached the gate to the Academy, and a rather bulky man was waiting for them, empty scabbard on his back and a peeved look on his face, until he saw the weapon in Ciela's hands. "Ah, my Glemding! Seems you kids managed to off that damned bird." Argent smirked a bit, before responding to the man. "Yeah, big bird won't be bothering anyone any time soon. But riddle me this; Why was your sword lodged in its chest?"

Ciela saw the giant guy and sighed a little bit. She felt like she'd made a real connection with the blade. She'd named it Warren and was quietly asking it what its hopes and dreams were. Okay she wasn't, but she did have a bit of difficulty pulling the sword off and handing it to its owner. She dropped back to the floor, pulling her pack off and checking on it. She might need to refuel it, but she wouldn't know until she had a proper second to check on its capacity. She slotted it back onto her back, in time to hear Argent's question.
Come to think of it, it was a little strange. A weapon lodged in a Grimm like that usually meant its owner was dead, generally by the hand (talons?) of the Grimm that bore the weapon. Ciela floated up a little and settled on Argent's shoulders, resting her arms on his head and her chin on her arms.

Argent growled slightly at Ciela's action, but disregarded it a moment later, returning his focus to the client, who responded sheepishly to Argent's inquiry. "Ah, that, yeah. So, y'see, Glemding has a propulsion function. It's meant to launch the sword at a grounded enemy to pin them, but...I got a little impatient and used it on the flying Krahe. And then it...flew away."
A loud slapping sound echoed out as Argent's palm connected with his forehead. "And y'never thought to connect a tether to the hilt? I thought th' pros were s'posed to cover this kind o' thing all the time." The look of irritation was clear on Argent's face, but with a sigh, he shook it off, regaining his composure. "Sorry 'bout that. Adrenaline's still a bit hot from the hunt."
The Huntsman laughed, rubbing the back of his head as he sheathed his sword with his other hand. "Nah, you've got a point, kiddo. That was a mistake on my part. Best Huntsmen know when to take advice." He laughed, before taking a quick breath and looking down at the students. "Oh, right, completely slipped my mind. My name's Gild. Nice to meet you kids."

ciela giggled a little at his story. To be honest it sounded like something she might have done herself. Then again, she had her dad helping when she'd built her own weapon so if she'd made something like Glemding, he'd have insisted on a cable. He was smart like that. That's why he got paid the big bucks. Even though he was only a teacher.
"I'm Ciela, he's Argent. We're partners." Ciela grinned, waving with the tired enthusiasm of her own adrenaline. It felt nice to say. Partners. She briefly wondered how Uncle Reg would react upon meeting her new partner. She wondered if Argent knew any of the staff. She pushed the thoughts out of her head, looking down at her Faunus partner.
