CIELA AZURIOS |
★ APPEARANCE
Ciela is a remarkably short individual, standing only 4' 11" tall with her trademark heeled boots (4' 9" without). Her tiny frame also means she weighs just over 100 lbs. She's so tiny you could practically pick her up and stick her in your pocket. Her hair is naturally a pinkish-white shade (she gets the pink from her mother), and she often keeps it pulled back into a ponytail. She's very fond of sleeveless dresses (with shorts underneath for good reason) in a wide range of shades depending on her mood, with a white bow for decoration on the back of her waist. She's rarely ever seen without her weapon strapped to her back and goggles hanging around her neck. She wears elbow-length fingerless gloves on her arms, with metal slots on the backs of her hands that can serve as knuckle protection in a pinch. As for footwear it's one of two options; either her knee-high heeled boots or barefoot, more often her boots.
★ PERSONALITY
★ HISTORY
Ciela has always lived what could probably be considered a "charmed" life. The second daughter and third child overall of a reasonably well-off family in Rift, her mother Delia being a (mostly retired) Huntress and her father Cedric being an non-Hunter teacher at Vytal. Her mother began teaching her the ways of the sword from just about the moment she could walk, and she often trained alongside her older brother Marcus. They would train, and then Marcus would take her on what he called "adventures", which were really just hikes through the woods. To Ciela, they were just about the best thing in the world.
When Ciela was 6, they were on a hike when a pack of Grimm attacked them. Marcus sent out a distress signal and then started fighting them, hiding Ciela in a tree before engaging them. Ciela watched as her older brother took out three Ursa, before the fourth got a lucky shot in and managed to bring his Aura down. And by that point it was over. Ciela blacked out at this point; the next thing she remembers is waking up at home, with her concerned family surrounding her. When they took her to the spot where Marcus fell, it was... gone. An area of about a quarter mile radius around the spot where Ciela had watched Marcus die had been wiped clean, the only sign something had even been there being a scorch mark all across the floor. Her parents weren't telling her what had happened, and somewhere deep inside, she felt like she didn't want to know.
From that point on her training went up a notch. Her mother began teaching her more and more advanced techniques and by the time she was 10, she was sparring on equal footing with her mother. Her father at around the same time began bringing her into his workshop to design a weapon for her. They went through quite a few design stages, as Ciela got older and her tastes and skills changed and evolved. They eventually settled on a prototype form of what would become Cloudburst Queen, and her father began building it with her, including new advancements whenever he found one that seemed relevant. It was completed in time to be Ciela's twelfth birthday present, and she started training with it immediately. She took to it naturally, and was soaring through the skies like a champ by the time she entered Vytal Academy the next year.
She excelled in her classes, only getting more and more skilled with her weapon and in the use of her Aura. She learned to heal, feeling like it was her duty since she couldn't save Marcus. She made friends, especially with her roommate, Maria. Ciela and Maria were just short of inseparable, and her father recognized their bond. So he sent them on a patrol together, when the Grimm were having a bit of low point of activity. No one could have predicted the Deathstalker, and it triggered the second activation of Ciela's Semblance. The explosion could be seen for miles, and Cedric was the first to find her, unconscious in the forest, sprawled over Maria's badly injured body and with pieces of Deathstalker scattered around. She slept for a day.
Once she was awake, Ciela returned to her studies like nothing bad even happened. When questioned she didn't remember a thing outside of the initial battle with the Deathstalker. This continues up to the day she entered Hunter classes proper. She doesn't remember a thing; she doesn't know she even has a Semblance, and her father is going to make sure it stays that way as long as he can. In the meantime, she's taken up writing as a pastime, and hopes to be the world's first novelist Huntress.

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPONS
Ciela's weapon of choice, her and her father's pet project, is named Cloudburst Queen. Inactive, it looks like a normal backpack, except for the extra strap wrapped around Ciela's waist, giving it an eerie resemblance to a flight harness. The pack itself can actually detach from the harness, allowing Ciela to slip it on and off at a moment's notice. The moment Ciela pulls her goggles into place over her eyes, the fun begins and the Queen awakens.
It's most recognizable form, and primary component, is the wingpack. It's a compact Dust-powered jetpack with a pair of fully articulated razor-sharp wings with a 9.5-foot wingspan that Ciela controls with her goggles and Scroll. The goggles themselves are a highly advanced system, capable of full holographic heads-up display that shows her things like flight time, optimal path to her destination if she's programmed one in, as well as a short-distance radar, with a radius of about 45 feet that works both on the ground and in the air. It also has night vision and thermal vision modes. Ciela is quite skilled in its use, able to pull off all sorts of daredevil stunts with it when she's in the mood to show off, but it also has the ability to hover in place. Ciela is not above using this functionality to be eye-level with people she's speaking to.
It also has a second form. Ciela can grab a handle sticking out from her upper back, right behind her head, and can pull the wings right off of her back, forming a double-edged greatsword taller than Ciela and wide enough to shield her body from incoming attacks. The lightweight construction of the wings allows even someone as small as Ciela to wield the sword with relatively little difficulty despite its borderline absurd size. She's very fond of dropping onto her enemies and bringing the sword down on them with the force of terminal velocity. If she's not feeling the greatsword, she can split it into two single-edged swords, both still longer than she is tall but still lightweight and deadly.
MISC.
The ribbon on the back of Ciela's waist is actually much more than it seems. It's made of a carbon-fiber-like material, with Violet Dust worked into the material, and is actually around 250 feet of material, most of it being wrapped around Ciela's torso under her dress. She uses it mainly as a panic weapon or when she specifically wants to deal non-lethal damage to people.
Ciela's aura is an enormously comforting presence. It glows a soft white and when it flares especially bright, it takes on the form of two pairs of wings, making a rough X behind her. She mainly uses her power to help others; she's best currently at healing. She refuses to fight using her Aura outside of self-defense, and even then does most of her defending with her wings. She usually burns about 3-5 points healing others, and can't do it at range; she has to be touching whoever she wants to heal.
Emotion Bomb
Ciela's Semblance is strange, because she's not aware she even has one to begin with; the only other times she's triggered it, she's repressed the memories. Her Semblance is an incredibly powerful and self-destructive ability that literally transforms her emotions into destructive power; the more intensely she feels a certain emotion, the more incredible the Semblance's power is. In essence, if she feels a strong burst of emotion, it's entirely likely she could literally explode, either using about 65% of her remaining Aura or completely expending it. She would be unharmed by the explosion, but she can't guarantee the safety of anyone around her, friend or foe. She can't even guarantee her own safety; in the past, after triggering, she's fallen unconscious for anywhere from two to twenty four hours.
Since she doesn't even know she has this power, she has no training in its use. However, according to a theory developed by her father, if she feels a significant amount of a directed emotion, such as rage or hatred, she might be able to focus and direct the blast toward the target of this emotion. However, this is only a theory, and its a complete crapshoot at that; all anyone can really do, if something bad happens to her or someone she loves, is to dive for cover and hope the enemies don't follow suit.
