Ferr’s smile, kind in nature, eased the bit of tension that had built up from her - probably unjustifiably - being offended. "Sure Amber. No problem. And I understand if you fear climbing or heights. It makes you human to have one or two. Only monsters fear nothing." He replied, releasing his grip of her arm. Amber had almost forgotten they still had their arms looped together before the release, and while she knew it meant climbing the wall before them, having that sense of security suddenly taken away forced her heart to sink yet again. ’Get a grip, Amber!’ She though, scolding herself for freezing up. ’It’s not even that high!’She had to hand it to him, though - Ferr was absolutely right. Only monsters feared nothing, and that was exactly what made the creatures of Grimm - real, living monsters - so dangerous. It was what made people like Sayf and his allies so dangerous. There were so many monsters in the world, and that was why Amberleigh resolved to help put them down - to bring peace to Remnant once again, no matter how small her contribution to that peace might be. As with all things, it would be a process, and a long one at that. If Amber wanted to see the end of that road - full of great battles and even greater struggle - she would have to remain patient and strong. As long as there were people that believed in her, Amber was sure she could believe in herself. She released an exasperated sigh, looking up to the top of the wall as Ferr moved behind her. "Whatever you do, do not be too afraid. You trust me?" He added. A question to defeat all questions - did she trust him? Amber knew the answer to that inquiry was “Yes”, but something compelled her to remain in place and thing about it for a moment. What was trust, anyway? She had grown up along so many people, all of them betraying her eventually. Even Cullen, the man that had helped raise her and shape her into the warrior she was destined to become, had betrayed her. Could she trust Ferr? If she did, would he take advantage of that trust? Would…he betray her, too? She quickly shook thoughts of treachery from her mind, nodding with a confident smile. “I think that…if you can trust me, then there is no reason I cannot trust you.” She replied, turning her head to the side to glance back at Ferr. “I’m sure you’ll understand if, at any point, I end up coming off as a little more wary than necessary.” With those words, Amber once again looked back to the top of the wall. Clearing her throat, she exhaled calmly and nodded yet again. “Alright, Ferr!” She announced. “I am ready for the climb!” |

It was akin to a child measuring up the boogiman that stood before them. That large mountain the small person had to climb. As Ferr looked down to Amber he looked worried. His smile fading when eyes were put elsewhere. He could see Amber visible shaking off the doubt and fear in her mind. That is all it was. It was a mind game. Anything could be equated to such a thing. The human mind was capable of many things. Even fooling itself and causing self-harm. For what reason or purpose this was, Ferr didn't know. For all he knew this mechanism of sorts could be a method of evolution. Keeping select traits to restrict humanity. In anyway you look at it, it was but a game to play. Finally it seemed Amber was ready to play. “I think that…if you can trust me, then there is no reason I cannot trust you.” Ferr would give her a thumbs up due to pride. But his action was stopped the moment Amber's head turned. Her eyes glanced at him and became fixed for a moment. “I’m sure you’ll understand if, at any point, I end up coming off as a little more wary than necessary." A part of Ferr was a little hurt by that statement. Was is necessary to say all that? Ferr thought it might have been. But still. In turn, the man took in a deep breath and presented a thumbs up to Amber. " Alright. If that is how you feel. We'll just dispel that." As he walked up to Amber from behind, Ferr bent down. Bending both of his knees to become eye level with Amber's rump. In that event, he slightly redirected his eyes before continuing. An instant later Amber could hear Ferr taking in a deep breath. " Don't move until I say so." The words came out like a cold order a Sargent would relay to a Private. Ferr would grab Amber by the ankles. Taking care not to or hold onto her too tight but ensuring his grip. With a grunt the Knight would lift Amber up over his head. The motion would mimic lifting weights. Once the princess was up, Ferr inched towards the wall. "Here. Grab the ledge! This should help." He explained as his diaphragm began to contract. " I'll stay down here to ensure you'll be safe. I swear on my pride and life. Everything will be fine."

Amber smiled, returning Ferr’s thumbs up with one of her own. "Alright. If that is how you feel. We'll just dispel that." He said, an obvious response to what she had said before. She could feel a tingling sensation in her face, indicating a blushing response to the young Huntsman’s words. Most, if not all, of that initial uneasiness had completely dissipated. Paying attention as Ferr moved behind her, Amber felt her blood run cold for mere seconds as he knelt down. The sound of him drawing in his breath added to that tension, sending a slight shiver up her body. "Don't move until I say so."Then, suddenly, Amber felt Ferr’s hands round her ankles. Everything after that was so fast - so instantaneous - it was almost mind-boggling. That said, Amber’s response wasn’t to panic, nor scream or cry. Instead she let out a euphoric laugh, doing her best to maintain her balance as she was held in the air. She did her best to keep her weight evenly distributed, hopefully making it all a little easier on Ferr down below. Remaining still, Amber eyed the edge of the wall with a determined grin, readying her hands to grab onto it as soon as she was close enough."Here. Grab the ledge!"On cue, Amber grabbed onto the wall ledge, doing her best to get a firm grip. "I'll stay down here to ensure you'll be safe. I swear on my pride and life. Everything will be fine." A wide grin began slowly creeping across her face, one she would have hated anyone else seeing. Pulling herself up onto the ledge, Amber immediately covered her mouth, trying to force the smile away. Embarrassing. Amber exhaled slowly, then released all the pent up air with a quick puff. She then crawled over and peeked down over the edge, smiling down at Ferr. “Thank you wanting to make sure I’m safe, Ferr!” She called down to him with a playful giggle. “But I think it’d be easier for you to do that up here, with me!” |

For a moment Ferr wobbled as Amber's weight shifted slightly while latching onto the ledge. The task was not a very hard one but still it caused him a little discomfort. It lasted for but a moment. Looking up to make sure Amber was safe, Ferr blushed for a moment when he realized the area his eyes stopped at to stare. If a human being was capable of smoking due to internal breakouts, Ferr would be on fire. The only time his eyes ever dare looked towards such a bodypart was when he was going through his phases as a teenager. "God. Busty Brawlers magazine." He muttered under his breath. The memories made him feel awkward. Thankfully Amber quickly climbed over the ledge to free up Ferr's hands. Any longer and Ferr didn't know how hard his hands would have begun to sweat. Embarrassing amounts, without question. For a moment Amber vanished behind the stone fixture. Worried, Ferr began lean up and standing on his toes in a childish attempt to view her. her giggling laughter ensured her safety as her blue eyes looked down to the man like stars. “Thank you wanting to make sure I’m safe, Ferr! But I think it’d be easier for you to do that up here, with me!” Well the woman did speak the truth. With a smirk, Ferr nodded and took a few steps back away from the wall. Hopping on the balls of his feet, Ferr would gain some momentum before bolting for the wall. With a hard jump, Ferr managed to scrape his way up the wall and reach the ledge. The man tightened his core muscled to pull with his arms and push with his legs. Managing to echo a small grunt, Ferr was able to cling to the ledge easily. With a smile towards Amber, Ferr pointed to the next ledge above them. "Good first leap. Just a few more. Lets move it." He said playfully before standing up and jumping towards the next ledge. Amber cheered proudly as Ferr jumped towards the wall, stepping back to give him room to climb up as she beamed at the young Huntsman. As Ferr got to his feet, he smiled, to which she smiled back. It was an odd little impulse, the smile almost sending a slight jolt up her spine. Amber felt her face grow light pink, but the dark of the night was likely her ally and would hide that small detail from her companion for the night. "Good first leap. Just a few more. Lets move it.” He instructed with a playful tone, again causing that little energy pulsing up her back and through her extremities. What an odd sensation. What an odd young man.Her eyes followed the direction Ferr pointed, observing the next couple ledges in their journey. She wondered where he was taking her, and what it was like. There were a lot of questions she wanted to ask him, questions she felt were important if the two of them were going to spend so much time together. All in all, Amber was mostly nervous that she could say something wrong, but at the very same time she couldn’t comprehend what was making her feel so strange. Her eyes slowly shifted from the ledge ahead, nonchalantly observing Ferr’s figure as he stood at her side.Gods, was he ever handsome. The burning in Amber’s face spread to her ears, and she coughed nervously in an effort to take her attention off the young man. “Well, suppose we better get going!” She laughed nervously. “I’ll catch you on the next ledge!” This time, Amber felt like being a little creative - like showing off. With her Semblance activating, her blue Aura glowed as a spear construct formed at the top of the ledge. Glancing over to Ferr, Amber winked playfully before she disappeared. A blue streak - almost a blur - shot towards the spear. This was where she reappeared.“Well come on, silly!” She said with a teasing giggle. “If you take too long, the night will be over before it’s even begun!” |

Ferr could feel Amber's eyes fixing on him as he stood up on the ledge. It wasn't a glare of irritation but more of admiration. He could tell. Also he glanced over at her and it was clear. Though the darkness of the night made it a tad-bit harder to make anything else out. However her eyes were bright and he could see the emotion in them. If it were a trick he'd be a magician. With a turn of his head Ferr looked back to the ledge and was prepared to make another jump. He dusted off his hands before bouncing on the balls of his feet. When Amber said she'd catch him on the next ledge, he was confused. What exactly did she mean by that? It was only clear when Ferr saw what could only have been Amber's semblance. The blue hue of wisping energy ran away from him. Tracking it's trajectory upward, Ferr was treated to the sight of Amber's giggling face. A smirk broke across his face. "The night will be eternal if you let it." He rebutted before crouching down. The knight placed great effort and force into his legs, jumping up high and grabbing hold of the ledge. With a deep breath, he pulled himself up like a diver exiting a pool. "Didn't think you'd be the show-off type." Ferr said jokingly. "But I guess its easier than my way huh?" Ferr reached out his hand to pat Amber's head. Only once and rather quickly. "Lets hurry though. I want to reach the top already." For a second time, Ferr leapt up and took hold of the ledge. This time he grunted aloud as he caught the stone fixture. His hands were becoming moist with sweat along with the rest of his body. It wasn't an easy task- jumping up and pulling himself upward the way he was. But he had to do it. Amber could use her semblance as she just showed, but Ferr would have to work extra in order to reach the top correctly. There were only five ledges in total, and so it shouldn't take so long since they just cleared the second. MADE BY VEL OF GS

From above, Amber took the opportunity to get a better look at the Huntsman before he made his ascent. "The night will be eternal if you let it." He replied to her with a smirk. Amber’s response was a slight scoff through her nose and the rolling of her eyes, shaking her head slightly with a smile. ‘What a dork.’ She thought to herself. ‘Cheesy, but cute, I guess.’ She watched with a degree of anticipation as Ferr made his way up the next ledge, giggling playfully as he pulled himself up on the next level. Hopefully he could keep up with her. If not, oh well - she supposed. "Didn't think you'd be the show-off type. But I guess its easier than my way huh?" The young man said in jest. Amber could feel the slight burn in her ears as she nodded, a wide grin stuck on her face. “Well yeah, I guess so.” She replied with nervous laughter as he patted her on the head. “Nothing wrong with a little bit of showing off though, right?” Leaning towards Ferr, she playfully elbowed him, speaking in a hushed tone just enough for them both to hear. “If you want, I can do it the old fashioned way though.” She teased, playfully sticking her tongue out at the young Hunter. Watching as Ferr took off for the next ledge, Amber followed promptly, using a jump from her Semblance to give her a little bit of a head start. Cheating? Maybe. Fun? Absolutely. Running as fast as she could towards the ledge, Amber planted her dominant foot against the wall, the muscles in her legs and core flexing as she pushed herself up. One step, then two - and she was able to grasp the ledge. Adrenaline pumped through her veins as her biceps grew sore, slowly pulling herself up and onto the ledge just as Ferr himself got up. It was tiring, but no less fun. Rolling onto her back, Amber remained on the ground for a moment, her eyes looming on the Huntsman for mere seconds before raising her hand towards him. “Could you help me up?” She asked, panting slightly with staggered breath. “That was a little more intense than I thought it’d be. A blast, really, but like…just a little more intense.” |

Ferr held onto the side Amber nudged with her elbow. He took a second to regain his breath after pulling himself up. The bumpy and rough stone felt like nothing to his hands. Though they were big and used to ridged textures, the back of his hands were soft and virgin. Save a single and minute scar just below his thumb. As he examined the next ledge, the Huntsmen noticed a small crack on the right side. He raised his hand to test the severity of it to find that a mere nudge was enough to break off a small segment. With the stone in hand, Ferr let out a long and drown out sigh. As he tossed the stone across campus, his eye drifted back to the moon. How late was it getting? He had just made a romantic and possibly memorable quote yet in truth they needed to hurry their pace. Atop of the building waited a small gazebo-like structure. From there a person could look down to were most of the civilians lived. At this time of night, the lights were still on to homes and shops. When mixed with the dark of the night, the sight mimicked a sea of glittering candles. However if they took too long and people began shutting off the lights, it would become a deep abyss of nothing. To him, it would just be regret. So when Amber called for his aid, Ferr did more than lend her a hand. "Hold on tight." Crouching down beside the woman, Ferr placed his hands underneath her. Once again, he had lifted her up to give her an advantage in their climb. "This is way more tiring than I remember. Probably because I was already tired." MADE BY VEL OF GS

As the night continued to drag on, the air of Vytal Island invaded the streets in a single hawkish breath. Amber was not dressed for the weather, and as such she was beginning to pay the price. Her weakly bronzed skin was plagued with goosebumps, and every so often she found herself trembling, fighting off the yearning to coil her arms around herself just to keep even the smallest semblance of heat within her. Even her breath was noticeable, crystallizing just enough to waft off into the air. Glancing at Ferr, Amber’s did her best to hide the faint red glow of her face from the revealing light of the moon.Ferr’s return to her appeal for help was, frankly, exactly what she had grown to expect from him so far. The knightly sort that he was, Ferr crouched down next to her in a similar manner to how he had before, setting his hands underneath her. Following his instruction to hold on, the Princess looped her arms around his neck, holding herself against him in an effort to make lifting her as easy as possible. In spite of this, she was anything but prepared to be lifted off her feet. As Ferr hoisted her upward, Amber let out a startled yelp, tightening her hold around his shoulders. Her eyes snapped shut, panic rushing through her body as adrenaline coursed through her veins. Then nothing. That is, except a feeling of weightlessness. He sounded a little weary, a combination of what she assumed was the energy sapping cold and general tiredness that came with the life of a Huntsman. Her eyes opened slowly, the twin blue orbs settling on the young man’s face as she smiled bashfully. “S-sorry about that.” She said with a sweet, apprehensive giggle. “Not sure what…uh…came over me, I guess.” Looking up to the ledge, which was just within reach, Amber released her hold around Ferr’s shoulders and gripped onto the ledge. Pulling herself up was easy, but the feeling that came with it was a different story entirely. As she worked on hoisting herself up, Amber could feel the effects of Vytal’s cold air on her strained muscles. Her body began to tremble, threatening a violent spasm as she tried to work through the sudden feeling of exhaustion. Gritting her teeth together, she let out a frustrated squeak as her body slowly eased its way out of Ferr’s arms, inching up as fast as she could. As her navel passed over the ledge, Amber leaned forward and rested her body against the cold surface and let out an spent whine. Her legs remained hanging over the edge for some time, twitching with the rest of her body as she succumbed to her tiredness. Her eyes remained open, her senses completely alert - but overall it appeared as if the Princess was shutting down. She didn’t want the night to end so soon. Not now.Not with him.For a moment she drifted off, her eyes closing as she daydreamed about being back home. Even though she knew it wasn’t real, the sensation of the warm sun against her skin burned - but in a way that was comfortable. This was likely the cold nipping at her legs back in reality, but she didn’t let that draw her attention away from the fleeting wonderland that was her thoughts. The image in her mind was of the day she left home - the weather welcoming to all who came to attend the Festival of the Mount. The people she saw, though they were indistinguishable from any other random she might see on the streets of Vytal, were happy. Everyone was so happy.A sudden cough woke her from her fantasy, her eyes prying themselves open as a subtle second wind came over her. Renewed, Amber wiggled her toes in her boots - causing her feet to sway gently - before finally pulling the rest of herself up and over the ledge. She stood up straight almost immediately, stretching her arms high above her head with a loud squeak. Ferr had yet to arrive on the ledge - meaning either very little time had passed or he had remained below for some reason. Was something wrong? Panicked, Amber looked over the ledge to see where the young Huntsman was, her eyes meeting his as soon as she caught sight of him. The worry in her eyes was clear. It was almost a little embarrassing.Flashing a bashful grin, Amber scratched the back of her head with her left hand, her eyebrow quirking just a little bit. “Hey, sorry about that!” She called down in an effort to make up for her lack of pride. “Not sure what came over me. Maybe the cold, huh?” Her left hand reached out, balling into a fist with her thumb stuck out, motioning upward to the Huntsman below. “You should hurry up and get up here.” She said, the tone of her voice almost teasing. “It’s gonna be hard to spent time together with you down there, y’silly man.” Giggling, Amber turned her back to Ferr, taking a few steps to take herself out of view as she gazed up towards the gazebo not far from where they stood. It looked beautiful. She really couldn’t wait. |

The air began to bite and graze the warrior's skin like a mutant offspring of silk and sand. The moon offered no warmth until her brother the sun. Had Vytal always been this cold or was it just this one evening that the warm sea air didn't want to waft inland. For a moment Ferr's teeth chattered and his muscles spasm. Hardening himself only caused the tightness in his muscles to become more apparent. He gave Amber a final push as she then laid on the stone ledge, the final level. Seeing her legs remain still caused Ferr to worry. However the chance she would drop dead due to this climb was zero. She wasn't weak. Logically the only other option was that she was tired; that made sense. The cold, the climb, the whole day before that too. Ferr knew how she felt. The second wind came, bringing Ferr down to his knees. The man quickly wrapped his arms around himself in a futile attempt to block the cold. It wasn't winter-like, just another cool night. But to him it felt like a brutal winter back home. When there is no coal or dust to burn. Ferr spent a few moment collecting himself. The sound of Amber disrupting his break drew his attention as he looked up to the Princess. Her playful taunt caused his blood to rush; it gave his body a chance to become warmer. He chuckled before nodding to her. " Yeah. I'll be there in just a second." Ferr would stretch out his body one last time before taking in a deep breath. Bouncing on his toes to gain momentum, Ferr unleashed the energy into his legs. The movement launched the man up and onto the ledge. His mid-torso reached the ledge before he slammed down onto it with his arms. Ferr would heave as he pulled his body up. The knight laid there a moment as he watched Amber stroll over towards the gazebo. With a push, he lifting himself up to his feet and walked over to it. " Come here. This is what that hard work was for." The man smiled and took Amber's hand into his own before walking over to the gazebo. He'd guide her over the curved stone which rose out of the roof. The half-sphere was much easier than five levels of ledges. The gazebo stood eight feet tall and had enough space for five people inside. The structure was made of stone and wood, painted white and blue. However the night case a shadow over it's colors to warp them into pale silver and black. The moon over head, and the time still right, Ferr rushed Amber into gazebo. Inside a single bench allowed for some proper rest. Before he'd allow her to take a moment, Ferr pointed north toward the residential district. "Look out there. You see it?" he asked while staring. Far into the dark colored space laid a sea of lights. The lights of homes and other buildings caused the darkness to reflect the sky with patterns of lights. Once more the wind would blow; however it would cause a gathering of trees to sway like rolling waves. " It's not much. But I thought you'd might enjoy it." With that, Ferr released her hand before plopping himself down on the bench. He shifted the wooden seat to lean against on of the stone pillars holding up gazebo. A light yawn erupted from his throat before he closed his eyes for a moment. "Just going to rest for a moment. Shouldn't fall asleep up here..." MADE BY VEL OF GS
