Amber had tossed and turned for most of the night, unable to adequate sleep as a direct result of her busy mind. She couldn’t stop thinking about the events that had occurred back in Setek, particularly the revelation of who her attacker truly was. The only question she had was why? If she could get a response to that one simple question, it was likely the Princess could deal with everything else. Knowing the reason for the betrayal was the only thing that really matter to her for the time being. At least she wouldn’t have to deal with all of this alone, though. Ferr was with her. The young man she considered, above the others, to be her rescuer. This wasn’t to say that the others didn’t do anything to secure her safety - it was simply because he had caught her during her fall, on top of that speaking to her in a proper manner to her standing. Amber, at her very core - and despite the fact she’d never admit it, missed home. She missed being spoken to with the respect that came with her title. Not that she wanted to be cooped up in a palace again, rather that she detested being a nobody in the outside world. Perhaps that would change, perhaps not. In a bid to retain her sanity, Amber’s thoughts drifted back to the defeat of the Taijitu Nagara. --Begin Flashback-- Amber slipped, as comfortably as possible, into Ferr’s arms - laughing as the two tumbled towards the ground. She had never really fallen into the arms of a guy before, and the very sensation of having those arms around her forced out a light shiver. It was, without a doubt, the safest she had felt since leaving home. In fact, she was even willing to bet it was a feeling completely new to her. If this was the kind of stuff she missed out on while living at the palace, then she certainly didn’t want to go back. Maybe she could tag along with him instead? She snickered at the thought, also smiling as the young man attempted to cleanse her of the “Grimm goop”. "Princes Amber Sablier. I am Odin Ferr Aesir. Leader of the Aesir Clan. And I will be taking you home to your mother in Rift. That is, if you got all your fight out of you.” He said to her with a smile. The look alone was enough to make her swoon a little on the inside, her smile curling into a bashful grin. "Didn't know a Princess could fight like that. Please let me know if you ever need a sparing partner. I'd love to take the position." The compliment made her rather light featured turn a soft pink, and she looked away slightly with a nervous giggle. “I guess that would depend, Sir Aesir.” She replied in a sly tone, while also addressing him like the knights back home. “Are you saying you think you can take me on?” Looping her arms around his neck, Amber’s grin grew - albeit slightly. “I promise you, there is much more to me than meets the eye!” She added with a whisper. “But if you’d like to wrestle around a bit sometime, I see no reason to say no!” --End Flashback-- Rolling onto her back, Amber looked around the small room given to her for the duration of her stay at Vytal. It was plain in appearance, white walls and a dark carpet. A single desk with a small computer sat tucked in the corner, and a wardrobe rested against the wall at the foot of her bed. Said bed was rather plain, as well, with a simple faux-silver frame and blue bedding. At least it was comfortable, though. With that, she could very easily ignore how completely mundane her temporary quarters were. She just needed something to do now. Perhaps seeing what Sir Aesir was up to would be fun? Reaching for a small bag next to the bed, Amber rummaged for a couple of her accessories beforr heading out. A red and green band, slipped over her right thight. A memento from the children she had taken care of while living in Setek. With it came fond memories, the sort of which she’d never forget. On her left arm, the golden bangle her father had given to her shortly before running away. Thinking about him, about home, made her heart sink. Maybe Ferr would be able to give her closure. After all, given his status as a warrior, it was likely he was there. Slipping into a black tank top and her brown low-rise shorts, Amber wandered awkwardly into the halls and started her search for the man known as Odin. |

The man was restless that evening as the events of the Setek operation could only replay themselves in his mind. Thinking back on it Ferr discovered many things he could have done differently; could have done better. His fight with the cultists showed he was still weak to ambushes and sly attacks. Though they were simply zealous- almost feral- followers of a dark religion, the cultists managed to wound him a number of times. While the visible damage aura didn't instantly heal were healing quickly, they were scars on his pride as a warrior and a knight. His blue eyes burned with a mixture of regret, hate, and disappointment. Ferr should have been better. But he made it out alive. The attack of the Taijitu Nagara was a different story. He barely got any hits on it. If there weren't any civilians in the combat zone then the job would have be over much quicker. Executed efficiently. As the man's heart began to pump faster and faster from his mixture of emotion, his mind continued until he finally reached his amusing encounter with the Princess. At that moment, Ferr didn't feel angry anymore. Instead, his face grew a slight pink from remembering the woman's comfort. Her arms around his neck were what really put his heart into overdrive. Never in all Ferr's years of living did a woman do that. Let alone thee Princess. She was of another nation sure, but she was still royalty. It had been some time since Ferr left his room. He walked the corridors of Vytal until he found a vending machine. As an alumni, it brought a smile and feeling of familiarity to be in these halls once more. Especially knowing that they didn't ever move the soda machine. Just more than a couple of years ago he graduated. As he received his water bottle from the slot, Ferr looked up into the hall to see a moving shadow. Quickly the man ran down the hall with a great deal of urgency. His mind flashed back to when the students wanted to take Amber away from him. He understood how they felt; it was their mission. But could one of them wanted to assassinate her instead? Until she got back to her mother, Ferr swore nothing bad would happen to that girl. Upon arriving at the end of the corridor a lone window was placed beside a tree outside. The night air made it wiggle back and forth since it's branches were weak and bendable. Seeing how the moon hit the branches to create a shadow made Ferr feel embarrassed. "Ugh. I need to relax." He whispered before opening his bottle. After pouring most of the water into his mouth, a minor amount slipped and managed to get onto his gray shirt and blue pants. He sighed with a mellow dissatisfaction. The water didn't really help much. Looking out to the moon, Ferr leaned against the windowsill with a small frown. Amber Sablier

The halls of Vytal were, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful things Amber had ever seen. Her bright blue eyes hovered over the many features of the Academy’s interior, whites and purple as if it were home to royalty, her jaw almost hanging open at the sight. Gorgeous. To Amber, home paled in comparison to how majestic the Hunter school appeared that night. With the night in mind, she had ended up so distracted by the design of the school interior that it hadn’t clicked to her just how late it was. Glancing around, she came to realize some students shuffling to their dorms - or leaving the campus if they lived in the city. Tugging the blue bow from her hair, Amber paused for a moment as she tied the violet strands into a messy ponytail. She had grown accustomed to the look since leaving home, taking the necessary steps to keep her hair long but short enough to make it look good. Stifling a quiet yawn, Amber stretched her arms towards the ceiling, almost ending up on the tips of her toes. Release was accompanied by an audible sigh, then a quick twist to crack her back. The sensation of it all gave her goosebumps, but she quickly forgot about it all and was on her way. There was a slight skip to her step, the heels of her dark boots clicking softly against the surface of Vytal’s tile floor. It was rhythmic in a sense, and with every step, Amber bobbed slightly - actually, it was almost as if she was dancing. A smile on her face, the princess quietly hummed an old folk song as she traversed the halls. Part of her was beginning to feel like it was time to give up her search. Who’d have thought that a man like Ferr would be hard to locate? Her eyes passed down a lone corridor, settling on the figure of a young man leaning in a window. She was pretty sure this was Ferr. Amber approached slowly with a sly grin, her eyes scaling the young man’s figure as she drew closer and closer. A result of her sheltered upbringing, no doubt, Amber found herself a little curious when it came to the anatomy of men her age. She tried to remain cool and collected as she inched closer, her face a little red as she cleared her throat. “F-...Ferr?” She said in a sheepish tone. “I, uh…um...H-hey! What’re you up to, out here all by yourself?” God, she felt like she was rambling. Would he think she was rambling? Wait, wait, wait - why did she care? Great. |

Ferr placed his water bottle on the windowsill beside him. He didn't feel like holding it for the time being. It was just a bother to him at the moment. In a way he was being lazy; in another way he wanted to focus on watching the sky and the moment. He thought the moon of Remnant was a beautiful yet eerie thing to behold. Ferr thought for a moment it could be a parallel to himself. While it was large, bright, and vital to life in the night, it was broken and not whole. It was lovely but incomplete. Similar to who Ferr felt about himself. Whole in the sense he understands how to look that the big picture. But there is not a specific thing for him to focus on. Was it bad? Good? The man didn't really know and that itself could spoke about his principles. The sound of skipping steps slipped into Ferr's ears with a harsh start. The tiled floors were never his favorite part of the academy. For a moment he watched until the source made itself known. The students should be in bed or on their way right now. Who the hell could sound full of energy at this time of night? He watched with intensity until Amber was half-way visible. Instantly Ferr turned his head back to face the moon. The man began to panic internally as merely seeing the Princess brought back flashbacks of her being in his arms. Her body heat was unique and noticeable even in the warm city of Setek. Of course he wouldn't dream of thinking anything perverted or shameful of the Princess. But he'd never had that experience before and the thought of it was making him freak out inside. Amber speaking in such a meekly voice did not help him too. As much as Ferr wished to not expose his growing blush politeness dictated he at least bow before her presence. So Ferr looked away from the moon and instantly bowed his head towards her. "G-good evening Princess Amber!" As he rushed to spit out the greeting Ferr bit his tongue. The pain caused the knight to grunt before covering his mouth. He stood there for a moment with his eyes closed before he was able to handle the sting. With hands returning to their sides, Ferr continued. "Sorry about that." A single droplet of blood could be seen smeared on his lower lip. "Guess I am just really tired. Biting one's tongue is such a silly mistake. And a painful one." "To answer you though... I'm just out here. Thinking about life and fighting against sleep." Suddenly the window flashed. A heavy cloud momentarily blocked the bright silver moon. Ferr glanced back to the sky before returning with a proper smile on his lips. "Guess you could say I was moon-watching too. But what are you doing out here? You should be sleeping some more. I'm sure you're exhausted after that whole business in Setek." Normally Ferr would look over his comrades while they talked. Making sure no one was hiding any injuries or other post-combat symptoms. Body language was one of the few things Ferr was able to understand well. His eyes became focused on Amber's face this time. Considering his face grew in color the more he looked at her under-dressed body. If he continued to scan her Ferr was afraid he'd find something he couldn't forget. The worst part was that she was now under-dressed by normal standards. Ferr just never saw a woman showing that much skin in person. Especially Royalty. Amber Sablier

Ferr seemed a little put off by her sudden arrival, his attention shooting back to the moon for a moment before finally turning to face her. "G-good evening Princess Amber!" He greeted her, biting down on his tongue in his odd little fit to press the conversation forward. "Guess I am just really tired. Biting one's tongue is such a silly mistake. And a painful one." A quiet, muffled giggle escaped her awkward smile. Amber’s eyes remained focused on his for the time being, taking note of the almost unnoticeable bit of blood on his lip - likely from his tongue. Hopefully it didn’t hurt too bad. Trying to peek out the window, Amber remained attentive as Ferr answered her string of questions. "To answer you though... I'm just out here. Thinking about life and fighting against sleep." So it sounded a bit like they were in the same boat. Amber wasn’t so much trying to avoid sleep, however, rather she had too much energy to get her eyes to remain closed. The slight flicker in the light of the moon announced the arrival of some clouds, but that didn’t do much to distract from the beauty of Remnant’s satellite. "Guess you could say I was moon-watching too. But what are you doing out here? You should be sleeping some more. I'm sure you're exhausted after that whole business in Setek." He added. It was a good question, and she supposed he was right. There was a long journey ahead, and Amber was going to need all the energy she could muster to pull through. That said, there was the matter of whether or not she even wanted to go home to begin with - the answer, of course, being that she didn’t. After all. Amber had run away from home for a reason. She wanted to get out, to become a Huntress, and help save the world from the Grimm. She didn’t feel like she needed Vytal like some other people did, as everything seemed to more or less come naturally to her. Amberleigh wanted to be a fighter, not royalty. “Well, first off, you can just call me Amber. Forget that Princess stuff.” She replied. “But I suppose you could say you and I had the same thing in mind, I guess.” She shuffled into the windowsill close enough for their arms to rest together, trying not to invade too much of his personal space. It wasn’t something she was going to pay too much attention to, as she had spent many days shoulder-to-shoulder with people during gatherings at Rift’s palace. That said, the warmth that radiated from Ferr’s body was of the comforting sort, it was hard to resist - as much as she tried - the urge to lean against him. So it came to be, but not exactly obviously. Sure, he’d know, but she had positioned herself in a way that would’ve made it difficult for anyone else to really notice. He’d probably prefer it that way, anyway. Who knew what was running through his mind. The moon reflected off Amber’s blue eyes, almost making them appear to glow, as she stared up into the night sky. She was absolutely bewildered by the immense beauty of the planet this far away from the larger cities. Was it like this in Legion too? Her eyes shifted from the broken face of the moon above, settling on Ferr’s slightly red face. Was he…blushing? Giggling nervously, Amber rubbed her face in an effort to make any redness on her own face disappear. How embarrassing. “So, if you don’t mind a little conversation…” She began, her voice still quiet - almost timid. “Tell me a little bit about yourself, maybe? I’m interested in learning about what brought you here.” |

Ferr was caught off-guard by the Princess's request for him to drop her title. It was equal to the request he gave to the two warriors he met a few months ago. It was a bother trying to make connections when people called you by a title with weight to it. Perhaps this was the start of a friendship between the two? Ferr's eager-young-man side wanted to think of it as more. As a welcoming of sorts. An invitation for more casual conversation and perhaps other sorts of things. Quickly the man forced himself to dash the vulgar idea from his mind. He'll honor her request, but only out of respect. Not some lewd delusion his primitive brain thought. God he needed help. Only when Amber's arm touched his did Ferr really start to radiate. Going a hundred miles per hour, his heart was pumping blood through his body faster than a bullet escapes the barrel of a gun. This caused him to glow pink all over his body. Though practicing breathing aided in calming down, it didn't make him totally relaxed. If only Ferr wasn't Ferr. Then he might have some control over the situation. The moment of silence between the two would allow Ferr to gaze back upward. It took his mind off of his nervousness slowly but surely. And just when Ferr was drifting into a normalized state Amber spoke up in her timid voice. It was almost playing at Ferr's heartstrings. The idea of a warrior-woman that could go from being powerful to timid tickled him in a perplexing manner. An interesting manner. A moment later Amber's words finally registered. "Tell me a little bit about yourself, maybe? I’m interested in learning about what brought you here.”
When she brought up the topic of his presence, Ferr would turn his body towards her with a serious and properly-colored face. " Well I am here to keep you safe, Amber. A few days prior to our meeting I got word from an old friend here in Vytal. Told me all about how my juniors were coming to rescue you. Of course he wanted me to go too to make sure everything was done right." With his back turned to the moon, Ferr crossed his arms with a proud smile. "Gotta say I think everyone did a good job. Though of course I was sure we'd succeed. I graduated from this very institution only three years ago at the top of my class in terms of combat prowess. Though my class wasn't that great. So I'gotta take that with some salt." A quick chuckle brought out Ferr's bright smile and cheerful expression. "Still gotta make sure you get home though. Speaking of which. Why were you in Setek?"MADE BY VEL OF GS

"Well I am here to keep you safe, Amber.” He replied, turning his back to the moon. Amber, with a slowly growing grin, turned to her side and leaned against the windowsill. She was pretty sure that would be the rest of the group’s story, too - ”Let’s save the Princess!” - but Ferr’s reason sounded a little more noble than the rest. While she wasn’t going to downplay the hard work and excellent job the Vytal team had done, Ferr had nothing committing himself to being there, instead heading out to make sure everything was done correctly. Observing the proud smile on Ferr’s face, Amber glanced up towards the moon again as she began coiling a strand of her violet hair around her finger. "Gotta say I think everyone did a good job.” He added, commenting on the students’ performance. ”Though of course I was sure we'd succeed. I graduated from this very institution only three years ago at the top of my class in terms of combat prowess. Though my class wasn't that great. So I'gotta take that with some salt." Amber’s eyes drifted back from the moon, settling on Ferr and the cheerful look on his face. That said, she was more than prepared for the question that came next. "Still gotta make sure you get home though. Speaking of which. Why were you in Setek?"Amber knew Ferr meant well with his inquiry, and as such decided to be honest in her answer. “Well, I ran away from home the night we were holding the Festival of the Mount.” She said after a brief silence. “All my life I’ve wanted to do something more - to be something more. Doing that from the palace was…well, impossible.” She paused again, twirling hair around her finger a little more aggressively. “I fell in love with the stories of Huntsman and Huntresses, and decided that I wanted to do that too. Of course, my family didn’t approve…” Her tone became a little somber as her eyes drifted out the window once more. “So I…ran away.” With a distressed sigh, she turned back to face the moon, her eyes more focused on Vytal’s campus outside. If only she could have come here when she was younger, instead of being forced to live behind the stone walls of home. Amber drew in a sharp breath as she counted the individual stones of the Academy’s sidewalk, doing her best not to cry in front of her company. It didn’t do much good, though, and with a quiet sniffle a series of tears wandered down her pale facial features. She didn’t want to go home, she didn’t want to see what had happened since she left - since her father had died. She didn’t want to begin to think what kind of ill-will Barnett meant for her. “Please…Ferr…” She murmured in a soft tone. “Please don’t make me go back…” |

Ferr's eyes narrowed downward as they focused on Amber's distrate face. It was obvious beyond the shadow of doubt she believed her actions to be the correct ones. Was it her love of fantasy or admiration and determination which flung the woman onto this path she dared to walk? The question was one Ferr feared to look at. The consquences of her being naive would be staggering. Perhaps even monumental on her and her family. It was no laughing matter, nor a light subject to bring up. A royal heir running away and willing to forsake her duties in the pursuit of a dream. Was it a dream though? The knight wondered if she was just playing hero, or if she wholly demanded to be taken seriously. As tears began to stain her pale and glowing face, Ferr lowered his head. "Please…Ferr…Please don’t make me go back…” His ears burned with the request. He caught the moment Amber's tears hit the floor. Those tears had enough impact to call him to the past. As a boy he trained for years in the wilderness with his mother and grandfather. Other rarely did he ever receive word from his father. But when he did, the man would send books upon books to Ferr. Stories of old knights. Before the Dark Age, before the Legion's militarized knights. Men who upheld chivalry, braver, courage, honor, and humility. Amber and Ferr were parallels in a way. Both growing with a story in their hears. When only fueled a bright and burning fire. "I understand." Ferr finally said with softened eyes. "If you don't wish to return I have no authority to force you. When I was a boy, I was the same. I was influenced by paragons, and wished to become them. So I did. I worked hard, busted my ass so many times I lost count. Blood, sweat, tears, humility at the hands of my betters, and pride and joy and satisfaction came much later. So I understand what drives you. And empathize with you; the burning in your heart."Ferr reached towards Amber's face with his strong hands. The ones which had been burned, cut, crushed, and bruised for over twelve years. Though healed, the weight of his training and trials still made them heavy and marked. Just as they were below her cheeks he stopped and lowered his head. "But on the same token, I don't believe I'mma good man. I say I went to Setek because I was asked. But there is still more to that." Ferr spoke now with a somber tongue. Slowly he went to the floor, kneeling on both knees. With his head almost touching the floor, Ferr took in a deep breath. His thoughts were killing him. He had to tell her. Even if she knew about her father's execution, he doubted Amber knew of his home nation and the part he played in the past. Even if it was minor to most. "Amber. I am Ferr Aesir. Odin of Clan Aesir...The largest family of warriors, hunters, and officers...In Legion." His heart grew heavy. "As leader of a clan I must take certain responsibility. Such as mobilizing for war along with the Legion military. I protested, but my people demanded it. And so me and my kinsmen...were involved in the siege of Rift. I saw many die. My hands will never be clean again. There, I took the life of at least five men." Ferr's eyes began to sting as the memories flooded the foreground of his mind. Almost replaying like a video. He had swore to protect the lives of people at a time. And by engaging in that war, he betrayed himself and his values. "I wanted to reach the king without spilling blood. A fair trail and imprisonment for sending an assassin. It was so simple. But I didn't even get close. Barnett got there first. And in public...As a message...The King was..." Ferr paused as his words lead Amber to imagine the rest of his sentence. "I tell you this because I went to Setek for you, Princess Amber. To ensure you do not fall to more needless harm. Not because I want you to forgive me. But because I want to honor your father some. I will not allow you to die."

"I understand. If you don't wish to return I have no authority to force you." Ferr said, breaking the bit of silence that had fallen between them. Amber, with tears still gliding down her face, looked up to the man as he spoke about being young - about all the effort that he had put into becoming the man he was today. Having someone to talk to about all this, someone that knew what she was feeling - to empathize, as he said - with her was alien. When Ferr reached towards her face, Amber felt a heavy weight on her chest. Every breath she drew in became more and more difficult to take, her eyes settling on his as she tried to maintain her composure.Just when she was about to give up all hope of ever breathing again, Ferr’s hands dropped, releasing her from her strange trance. "But on the same token, I don't believe I'mma good man. I say I went to Setek because I was asked. But there is still more to that." He said in a solemn tone, slowly sinking to the floor until he was on both knees. Amber looked down at him, confused and anxious regarding what might come next. "Amber. I am Ferr Aesir. Odin of Clan Aesir...The largest family of warriors, hunters, and officers...In Legion." He added. It was becoming apparent where their conversation was heading, and she bit on her bottom lip as she fought protest. She wanted to hear what he had to say, no matter how much it might hurt.”And so me and my kinsmen...were involved in the siege of Rift.” A sentence that stood out to the young woman the most, it served to confirm the source of her anxiety. Amber then lowered herself to her knees, looping her arms under Ferr’s and pulling him close to her. She had never seen another person act so remorseful, and could only imagine the weight all the things he kept bottled up inflicted on his young soul. "I wanted to reach the king without spilling blood. A fair trail and imprisonment for sending an assassin. It was so simple. But I didn't even get close. Barnett got there first. And in public...As a message...The King was..."A quiet sniffle was all she could really muster in response, instead focusing her attention to comforting Ferr as he spoke on. "I tell you this because I went to Setek for you, Princess Amber. To ensure you do not fall to more needless harm. Not because I want you to forgive me. But because I want to honor your father some. I will not allow you to die." With a tired sigh, Amber began gently caressing the back of Ferr’s head, trying to no avail to think of a proper response. Sitting there would be her response, then - taking every stride possible to console the troubled Ferr. She took note of how the young man smelled.Flowers. She could smell flowers. What kind, exactly, she couldn’t put her finger on - but the floral scent was one that was hard to deny. There was something else, too, something she could only really identify as metal. Iron, that was it. Most likely due to the young man’s time spent around weaponry - and/or the amount of blood likely shed from himself or his enemies. That, and the subtle hint of sweat, had likely become a fragrance that stuck to Ferr on a regular basis. While most of the people she socialized with back home wouldn’t take to kindly to such a thing, to Amber it was comforting. It was, as far as she was concerned, an indication that Ferr was the right kind of warrior. He might have been a hardened fighter, but there was a gentleness about him, a gentleness that caused Amber’s heart to flutter as she held him there.“Thank you, Ferr.” She said, finally breaking the silence that had again fallen between them. “I guess this makes you my hero, huh?” She added with a quiet giggle. She then pushed him away, her hands rising and settling on his cheeks, holding his face to grant her a better look at his dark eyes. “It means…a lot to me that you’re trying to honor my father. I need you to know that” Her face had shifted to red during the time she first caught what she would forever refer to as “Ferr’s Smell”, and she desired more than anything to hide that. Hopefully the dark of the night would assist her, but she knew it was likely that the moon would betray her.Parting his hair, Amber leaned forward and set her lips against his forehead, then hugged onto him again for what felt like several seconds. As she retreated with her shy smile, she laughed. It was the only remedy for her when things got too awkward. “So, what was it like growing up with the Aesir Clan?” She inquired with a curious grin. It was time to shift the subject just a little bit, but deep down, Amber was taking great care in considering every bit of their conversation thus far. She didn’t want Ferr to blame himself for anything, or to feel the weight of the world on his shoulders because of past mistakes. Amber knew he was just doing as he felt was right. Were the tables turned, she probably would have done the same thing. But how did she tell him that? |

When Amber began to descend in front of Ferr, the man closed his eyes. He prepared for her to hit him, perhaps even pull a blade out and kill him. It was perhaps the best course of action in her mind. Killing an enemy solider right before her since he was vulnerable. Taking in a deep breath and hoping for the best, Ferr inhaled Amber's aroma. He was surpised to say the least. After unloading so much evidence agasint himself, Ferr did not expect Amber to hold him the way she did. “Thank you, Ferr. I guess this makes you my hero, huh?"
The notion burned him, he a hero? Ferr still believed he had a long way to go before that title was accecptible. More lives saved or more lives slain. That was the question that unlocked the future. Having recovered some composure Ferr's face brightened up greatly when Amber held it. Her hands were so soft and warm and loving. They were like silk attempted to wrap a dulled blade. Ferr being that blade. A smile would emerege from the man's face as the light of the moon showered them both. In it, Amber looked so heavily; so lovely and desirable to Ferr. The Knight and a Princess. It made for a good fairytale to tell children at bed-time. Ferr muffled a chuckle at the thought until he felt his hair parting and lips bless his forehead. As his eyes grew in size and in alertness, Ferr's vision shifted to Ambers. As they hugged his heart would beat hard enough to literally beat against his chest. Actual pain surfaced for a brief moment before dispersing. That was literally Ferr's first sign of affection from a woman. The first kiss he'd ever received. Even if it was on his forehead. Remembering that fact caused Ferr to look away with a deep redness in his face. Once Amber let him go, he turned his back on her and stood up and erection like a mountain. Hearing her light laugh, Ferr knew she too was feel uneasy about their situation. “So, what was it like growing up with the Aesir Clan?” The question allowed Ferr a moment of rest. Thank god, a break. Staggering at first, Ferr fought to recompose himself. Difficult and not fully successful, he began with, "Well..." He'd grab his chin with a hand before thinking. "How do I say this?" He asked himself aloud with a sigh. " Well. It was normal for me. But honestly it would be hell for other kids. Even I cursed most of my childhood. You see, Aesir are suppose to be paired off when they come of age. But my mother was allowed to be with the one she loved. Rare for it to happen but it gave me a sense of hope y'know? An example that love conquers all. Or something like that." He shrugged. "But I was an only child y'see. My father lost the use of his legs after a mission went south. And mother became sterile after I was born. So they couldn't make any more little warriors. So because of that my mother and grandfather took me away from home at the age of seven. Until I was fourteen, I would be trained by the two most ruthless and powerful combatants in the whole clan. I didn't train with dummies. Practiced against a live, moving target that would hit back. Countless times I was ordered to take out small packs of Grimm. That was before I even hit puberty." Ferr would turn to the moon and cross his arms as he gazed at it. "Wasn't all that bad. I was close with my cousins. Family was important. But also strength. So contests of strength and power were the normal thing to do." A disappointing sigh would escape his lips. He remembered how the girls out-performed the boys. Stereotypes are stupid. "But if I had to point out a negative side to it all. It would be that most of my clansmen act like brutes. Simply as soldiers and fighters. It's almost funny really. I, a honorable and shining knight lead a pack of brutish soldiers."Looking to Amber, Ferr offered a chuckle before asking her a similar question. "But that is enough of me. I too would like a little insight to a Princesses life in the castle. What was it like being a kid with access to a wealth of luxury?"MADE BY VEL OF GS
