Ama Grinned like a Madwoman when MiMi brought up Sparring, then looked like she was about to cry when Vanny shot the idea down, then perked right back up when Ty suggested it again. "Pleeeeeeeeeeeease Vanny? Can I Can I Can I CANICANICANI!?"At some point she had taken Vanny's hand's in hers and started bouncing up and down. Then Ty brought up the time that he froze the Pizza guy. "Ooooooooh I remember that! That was funny! ... Now I want Pizza..."

Tilting her head as she soaked in Lavender’s words, Eve smirked a bit. Though Eve had never spent very much time with any of the other professors in particular, she was a little surprised to meet someone so…pessimistic? Maybe that wasn’t the right word, but - at least to Eve - it seemed like Lavender was set on some sort of impending doom. She couldn’t blame her for that, though. Just look at the state of things! Rift attacked, the King of Rift executed before his own subjects. To top things off, the princess was still missing. Eve set her focus back on the wall, her hands rested on her hips as she stood there in silence for a few minutes. “It’ll work, Lavender. I’m sure of it.” Were the only words to escape her before Zari joined them. Frankly, Eve was surprised to see that the man had managed to finish some of the work without so much as a speck of dirt on him. After he sat down and made himself a cup of tea, Eve sat on the ground as well. Her head hung back and she stared at the sky, but immediately started to feel a little uneasy. There were clouds moving in, and fast. Confused, her head cocked to the side before she glanced at both Zari and Lavender. “There were no reports of clouds or storms, right?” She asked. Worry was in her voice. This was so bizarre. A strange rumble echoed through the air. It was dull, but loud. Eve would have been surprised if the students in the school didn’t hear it as well. The workers on the wall all looked out to the ocean in a frantic search to find whatever had made the sound. Was it thunder, perhaps? The air was now becoming cooler, more typical for a day on the island. It wasn’t a problem, necessarily, but the forecast called for a heatwave that was supposed to last the rest of the week. One of the workers then belted the words Eve did not want to hear. “There’s something in the water!”Jumping to her feet, Eve picked up her staff nearby before running to the wall and climbing. A quick flick of the wrist, and the staff transformed into a bow. Her eyes focused as she aimed in the direction the worker was pointing. No use, it’s too far. She opted to activate her Semblance, giving her vision akin to a hawk for a period of time. Just long enough to get a pinpoint shot, but in this instance she was using it to see far out into the blue horizon. Now when she saw what she did, Eve wasn’t sure how to describe it. Whatever it was, it was massive, the size of a large boat maybe. It was flying through the water at incredible speed, throwing massive waves in its wake. Its back emerged from the water as a large hump, and several black projectiles fired off into the sky. “EVERYONE GET DOWN NOW!” She called out. “SOUND THE ALARMS! SOUND THEM NOW!” Workers still in camp followed her directions promptly, and soon the entire island was flooded by something akin to a tornado siren. Some of the black objects fired from the beasts back, resembling seeds, landed just within the wall. They seemed to melt away before Grimm emerged from the pool that they left behind. Some of these Grimm were the usual - Barghest, Graylich - but others looked different. One took the shape of a crocodile-like beast, while the other looked like a twisted black figure. They were under attack.

Lavender Rose Lavender nodded, her smile becoming a little less cold at Eve's words. However when she brought mention of the strange clouds the smile vanished completely, replaced with a look of determination and thought. "Not that I know of, no." Then a worker belted out the words that nobody wanted to hear, but that were the whole reason she and the rest of the hunters and students were there. Lavender shot up out of her chair, her coffee mug thrown to the ground beside her and shattering, spilling the small remainder of purple tinted liquid over the ground. Skorpio was in her hands and the alarm sounded as Lavender began advancing on the strange crocodile like Grimm. "You four," She gestured at the group of Mizumi, Dusty, Chrohn, and Ama. "focus on the Grayliches. Mizumi, Dusty, synchronize. All students, do not engage the unknown Grimm!" She shouted the orders completely confidently, no hesitation and a tone that allowed for no dissent. They carried throughout the camp and various students began scrambling into action, a few of them deciding to escort some workers out instead of fighting Grimm. She arrived a few feet from the strange crocodile Grimm and stopped, pausing to examine it. "And what can you do beasty?" She muttered, stepping into a defensive stance and dipping Sting into the vial on her hip to coat it in poison. Mizumi Tai Mizumi was nodding and laughing at Ama when the sirens started going off. As Professor Rose began barking orders Mizumi stood up tall as well, pulling Blowback off her hip and turning it into its hammer form as she turned to Dusty. "Alright, let's do this!" She reached out with her aura and found Dusty's own, feeling for his heartbeat and the rhythm of his soul with her semblance. She found it and attuned herself to it, matching up to it perfectly. Their auras began pulsating in unison and both turned green, hers blue tinted and his yellow tinted. Now they'd both be able to innately know what the other was doing, as well as spend aura together. Dusty would instantly know which Graylich she was charging before she did, and as she did so would understand that any aura he needed to spend she would happily share the burden of. As she was running at the nearby Graylich, she felt her feet moving faster, her body more mobile and quick to react. The other effect of synchronize was giving her an increase to her physical agility, and also giving Dusty a boost to his strength thanks to her own power. She came in next to the Graylich and swung Blowback at its head, aiming to crack it in two if she could. Of course, she likely wouldn't, so she followed up with a quick swipe of the massive hammer to the torso of the monster. The purple crystals imbedded into the shaft of the hammer started humming and pulsing, slowly building up kinetic charge. (Note: Dusty can spend any aura points as though Mizumi would take half of it, unless she does not have that much aura to spend.) It was the end of the world, everyone was against him. Not really, though to be honest Chrohn wasn't really in the mood for sparring even though everyone else was. And as per usual Ama went off on random tangents as she begged him to do stuff.
During this time, his focus had shifted as clouds had appeared and the environment darkened. Chrohn's mood lightened up a bit, though quickly soured as sirens and people yelling and screaming ruined his chance to watch the clouds. "I'm not allowed anything nice today, am I? I want clouds, and I am given clouds, only to have it pissed on by these little...furry, scraggly fucks," he muttered with increasing anger. Usually Chrohn was calm, but he didn't take too kindly to things ruining his interests, especially when the area was supposed to be clear.
The skygazer huffed and puffed a bit as he unclasped his sword, and put on his jacket as he took to his hoverboard. While he wasn't too terribly good at thinking ahead, one thing that he had picked up from the last month was to get a good view of the battle field before charging in if possible. Luckily for Chrohn, he had the means for this method as he quickly took to the skies, though staying within earshot of Amanda if she needed something.
....And there were grimm splattered here and there all around the area. "Yup, no fun allowed," he said a bit disheartened. With this he took back to the ground level near Amanda, and started on a grimm of his own.
He clipped the slot machines lever and waited a moment as he kept his guard up against one of the Graylichs, with a Ka-CHING, it finished revolving and he loaded up the chips into Lucky 7. Yellow, Yellow, Red.
Chrohn pulled back and charged forward atop his hoverboard as he activated the lever on the blade, and it proceeded to eject a stunning fire in a scattershot like manner towards the grimm immediately in front of him, but due to the manner of it's ejection, it seemed to also hit some grimm that were farther out. Following this, Chrohn backed up a few meters. "Hey Ama, I think they're open for ya!" he shouted towards his partner. Judging by how close he was to the grimm when he initially fired, Chrohn was positive that his attack was effective, but who knew.

Dusty stared up at the sudden appearance of clouds, his expression turning serious. He didn't like clouds: they often served as bad omens and they blocked the best power source for his semblance. Dusty barely had time to stand up and retrieve his gear when he heard shouting and saw black shapes falling from the sky. He bit back a curse as he scrambled over to his gear. The objects were hitting the ground by the time he reached it. No time to fully gear up. He slung on his bandolier with his quiver and bottles of Dust, strapped on his bracers, and grabbed Daybreaker. As he turned around, he could feel Mizumi syncing up with him. The young man felt stronger and more energized and moved into action. He tapped away at the screen on his gauntlet, setting up the next few arrows with Dust, one with Ice, three with Fire, and three with Kinetic.
Dusty drew the Ice arrow and fired it at the ground, creating a long path of ice right underneath the Graylich Mizumi was fighting. He took a running start and slid onto the ice, riding it all the way to the Grimm creature. "Heads up!" he shouted unnecessarily at Mizumi as he broke apart Daybreaker and tried to stab Ardu into the Graylich's stomach, attempting to drag the blade from its chin to its tail. His newly enhanced strength helped him keep hold of the knife as he reached the end of the ice slide. He snapped the knives back together and drew his three Kinetic arrows. The young man fired the three arrows at three different Grimm's ankles - two Grayliches and a Barghest -, hoping to pin them in place for a few seconds before drawing the three Fire arrows and shooting them at the same three Grimm. He hazarded a moment to glance at the two new Grimm and bit back a curse. If only he had some shadows to work with. He could turn their own shadows against them for a moment to see what their weaknesses might have been. Not to mention the incredibly loud noises coming from outside the wall....
Dusty cursed again. Damn these clouds.

The island had interrupted into chaos.
One after another, the black pellets rained down from the sky, spawning the creature of Grimm that wreaked havoc on the city. Eve was having trouble deciding the next course of action. Too much was happening, and much too fast. Every time one of the monsters was cut down, another one was quick to take its place. The Barghest and Graylich that emerged from the black puddles were easy enough to deal with, or as easy as they could be. It was these new beasts, the Grimm she had never seen before, presenting the most challenge. How do you combat a foe so new, so much more prepared than you?
Counting down the number of arrows she fired, Eve downed as many Barghest as she could. Her weapon would do little good against the Graylich swarming the area. Luckily, there were plenty of faculty and students in the immediate vicinity, meaning they had strength in their numbers. It wouldn’t take much teamwork to trim down their numbers, so long as they played their cards right. While things seemed to be going well on the island, Eve was worrying about whatever was moving through the water. Whatever it was, it was massive. Could it have been the source of the seismic readings not long ago? The idea of something that large caused her to tremble, albeit slightly.
From the sea, a thunderous roar echoed through the air. Loose rock on the ground clicked against the surface, windows and doors rattled. Had she been inside, Eve would have thought something had blown up. The sirens of the island continued to blare throughout, the oscillating sound pounding at the eardrums of the fighters. For a split second, Eve considered ordering that the alarms be deactivated. However, without the warning to the inhabitants of the island, the potential for casualties was just too high. They would have to deal with it, even if it presented a disadvantage in most cases. ’No worries, Eve. No worries.’ She reassured herself.
With haste, she pulled her scroll out of her back pocket, sending a message to everyone on the island - student or staff. “I need as many able-bodied people as possible to the northeast side of the wall!” She called, her voice frantic and short of breath. “We need to start pushing the Grimm back, and prepare for whatever made that noise to get here - if it gets here. Hurry! NOW!” Wasting no time, she resumed firing arrow after arrow into the battlefield, sticking a multitude of Grimm as a result. Hopefully things wouldn’t get worse, hopefully they could push back this attack. They had to. They just had to.

Lavender RoseShe had stopped and stared for long enough, now was the time to act. She had identified the closest point with the least amount of armor covering it, as good a place to start as any. Lifting Skorpio up she fired a needle from its hilt, the dart coated in black poison as it flew towards that unprotected spot. Lavender sprinted along behind the needle, determination on her face as her stinger curled up and over her shoulder. When she was about a foot away from it Lavender vanished, reappearing instantly behind the unknown Grimm just as the poison coated needle would hit. Just in case she drove Sting into its leg, the pointed tip of the finger ring still coated in the same Grimm paralyzing poison as the needle. To finish the attacks she attempted to stick Skorpio straight into its back, the needle specifically designed for stabbing attacks like this one. Her movements were all but instant, showing her many years of training with not a sign of hesitation. The students had never seen Lavender fight, at least, not for real, so watching it would have been quite impressive. Mizumi TaiDusty was right, the warning call was completely unnecessary. As he was calling out for her to look out, she was already stepping around his movements. Dusty slid straight past her and as he split the Grimm in half the call to defense rang out. She thought they needed to get to the northeast wall, they'd be most useful in defending that. These feelings and thoughts easily transmitted across her semblance to Dusty, and she began moving towards said wall. As she was moving she spun Blowback and slammed it once into the ground, sending up dirt and more importantly continuing to build up kinetic charge. As she arrived at the wall she felt her semblance pull from her aura, and since she knew Dusty had just burned a bunch of his aura on his own thing she decided to take the full brunt of the cost. Mizumi arrived at the northeast wall and hefted her hammer, ready to smash in the face of any Grimm and a strange resolve present on her features. It wasn't every day Mizumi was so determined to do something, and while it may have just been Dusty rubbing off on her it was still a surprising thing. "I do hope you're ready for this. We have no idea what is coming, and with the unknown comes danger. Try not to die." Circi's words in her ears caused a small nod, Mizumi's hands gripping her hammer tighter. (Okay, so to start with stuff, as we know, Gorgo is having IRL problems that will be keeping our friend from the site for some period of time. So I talked with buddy boy and I've been granted rights from him to have domain over Amanda. However , I feel I couldn't do her justice in capturing her personality or her fighting style, so to put it simply I will be writing her out of le plot thread, regrettably. If there is need to verify, you can ask Gorgo himself, or I can provide screenshots of the exchange per the staff's request.)
While Dusty and Mizu easily had a year of training together, Chrohn and Ama were still stumbling over each other on the field. That being said, when he looked to Ama, things weren't well.
She was slumped on the ground, weapon still in hand, but luckily still in one piece from what Chrohn could tell. Worry had begun to take over. He'd already started towards the two Grimm that were on her, loading up the sword as he did. Closer and closer he sped towards the girl, calling out her name in worry. Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK, FUCK! he was going on mentally. As he'd approached the grimm that were on her, he swung out after pulling the sword's lever, to let out an explosion that sounded like a bomb went off, except it wasn't. It was that combination that Chrohn had pulled off with his sword.
The explosion managed destroy one of the grimm entirely or at least Chrohn thought so if only due to the proximity to the blast, while the other was simply shot flying, potentially surviving due to the distance but also because the explosion had gone through something else before it. The stargazer didn't bother to check as his mind was focused on something else. That something was on the ground before him, slumped and quiet. It was the latter of which that Chrohn definitely knew something was wrong. He hopped off his board, and knelt next to Ama, checking her pulse and breathing as he did so. Chrohn had mixed results to the quick battlefield check: He was happy that she was definitely alive, but her blood pulse and breathing were arrhythmic. "Guys, GUYS! I NEED HELP, AMA'S DOWN!" Chrohn thought he was calm, but what came out was far from it. Mentally, maybe he was, or so he felt, but his body clearly thought otherwise. He was crying and his voice came out watery and waving. However, one thing was apparent: he was cold. Subconsciously, he'd stepped back and looking back, Chrohn was glad he did. His chest was tight, and his tears were frozen to his face. Ca-calm down. I can't help if I'm like this. And it was with the frostbite lightly nipping at his hands that snapped out of it.
His fingertips were numb and a nasty shade of light-blue took to the tips. Deep breaths, she's okay, but she won't be for long. Stopping for a moment, he visibly took in a deep breath and his mind cleared, if only a little bit. After this, he hoisted Ama onto his back, tying his jacket around their waist as a means to keep her secure, carefully cradling her as he did, using his aura in an attempt to alleviate any pain she might be in. Chrohn honestly had no idea, Ama wasn't even conscious, so he was doing all that he could with the limited information. "I kinda wish that they covered more in battlefield first aid."
Carefully he re-boarded the hoverboard, keeping his blade at the ready in case anything got between him and his allies.

Arrow after arrow, Grimm after Grimm. The fight was growing more intense as every second passed. Men and women flooded the city, frantically trying to get themselves and their families to safety. It was absolute chaos. Eve had climbed her way up a church bell tower, using the vantage point to get a good view of the city. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It was almost as if a riot had broken out. Luckily, the group was doing a pretty good job of keeping the Grimm at bay. With a little bit of luck, it was likely that there would be no injuries - or worse. She let out a relaxed sigh, slightly lowering her bow as she looked for any of the help she had called.
No dice.
Everyone was too wrapped up, fighting off the creatures of Grimm threatening the wall, the school, and the city itself. “Damn it!” She cursed, checking her Scroll for her Aura percentage. ‘At least I’m alright in that department,’ she though, tucking it away in her back pocket. ‘But these kids, though. I need to start having everyone rally towards the school. There’s too many of them for so few of us to fight.’ It seemed she was still going to need her Scroll after all. Retrieving the small device yet again, Eve sent another message to everyone in the area - as well as the school itself: EVERYONE, MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE ACADEMY. DO NOT ENGAGE THE GRIMM - REPEAT - DO NOT ENGAGE THE GRIMM! It read.
Now it was time to move. Keeping her weapon ready in case a Grimm got close, Eve hopped between roofs as she started her journey across town and to the Academy. Every so often, she’d have to stop and shoot down a Barghest or whatever the crocodile beast was, helping civilians and students get away and to their designated position. She was ready for this - she had trained for this her entire life. What Eve did not expect, however, was the sudden storm. Shifting from being cloudy and relatively calm, the seas began to thrash while the clouds churned. Something was very, very wrong. A sudden bolt of lightning struck the roof she was on, throwing her off and crashing down into the street below.
Her Aura had taken the brunt of the damage, but she felt the effects nonetheless. Her clothes were slightly charred, and she could feel a burn down her arm and leg where the lightning had traveled. It felt terrible. She winced as she tried to get up, gasping out loud in pain. Her bow was snapped in two, lying in pieces on the ground. She must have landed on it when she fell. Just her luck, huh? She scoffed at the pieces, then continued towards the school - limping. This certainly meant a longer trip, but at least she was still on her feet. It was just when Eve decided things couldn’t possibly get worse, a sound echoed through the air.
Earsplitting.
She dropped to her knees, screaming as she covered her ears and closed her eyes. So much fear had suddenly overcome her, and she hadn’t even seen the source. As the sound flowed throughout the island, windows were blown to pieces throughout the city. It felt like a bomb had gone off. What little light there was from the sun peaking through the clouds had been wiped out by something blocking it. It was dark - very dark. Silence fell after the magnificent roar faded off into nothing. Opening her eyes and trembling, Eve uncovered her ears and turned towards the dark mass looming overhead. A dragon? A seabeast? She fought tears while trying to force herself not to utter the words.
It was one of the Four Wills.
The monster’s giant, glowing eyes observed the city below, bellowing deeply as it’s eye passed over the students followed by the teachers. It’s cold gaze hovered over Eve for a fraction of a second before moving on, but it was enough to push her to the brink of passing out. If just a look from the thing put forced someone like her to that point, she could hardly imagine the power behind the creature. So what now? What did they do? Try to fight it? It was a suicide mission if she ever heard one. Perhaps it would spare the city and carry on? No…that didn’t seem likely. However, Eve allowed herself to entertain the idea that this was the monster announcing its return.
So what did they do now?

Dusty had managed to nab the Barghest and one of the Grayliches with his arrows, blowing large chunks off their bodies. They continued to writhe on the ground, not yet dead, but soon enough. The third Grimm had managed to duck underneath its intended arrow and yank its leg free, but it couldn't do much more than hobble. Dusty drew another arrow, this time just a normal one and aimed again. The amount of Grimm flooding on to the island was too much for his Aura to handle Dust arrows constantly, so he'd have to be smart and conserve it. The loud noises on the other side of the wall made him think as much. The young man loosed the arrow just as the order to retreat rang over the battlefield. He cursed and turned, not really watching whether or not his arrow hit its mark. He began running towards the academy, pulling Daybreaker apart into Ardu and Leagatha and slashed at any Grimm who grew too close for comfort.
"Come on, you ugly mugs. Come get some!" he shouted at the black beasts he ran past. He jumped up and used the head of a Barghest to boost himself into a flip, slashing the nape of its neck as he twisted in the air. He landed back down on the ground, grinning confidently even though it took a lot of effort just to keep his own fear at bay, and was about to begin running again when the loudest and most terrifying noise he had ever heard pierced his skull. Dusty stumbled over his own feet and fell to the ground, Ardu and Leagatha skittering off in different directions. He curled up in the fetal position on the ground, his hands pressed against his head and his fear finally surfacing. Whatever Grimm or monster he had faced before, they were nothing compared to the giant... thing that darkened the island further. He turned to look at the monstrosity only to find that his glasses had shattered when it had roared. He patted his chest for a moment, searching for his Glass Dust bottles and breathed a sigh of relief that they were still whole. He pulled one from his bandolier and, with trembling fingers, patched up his glasses for the time being. With his vision somewhat cleared up, he found that it didn't matter either way. The thing in the sky was just so massive it blotted out what little light was left in the sky. Dusty looked up at it in horror, barely able to see through the gigantic creature's shadow...
An idea clicked in Dusty's head. He steeled his nerves for just a moment to shift around to his hands and knees. His irises shifted to midnight black in color as he concentrated. Sweat quickly began pouring around his face and he felt his muscles beginning to seize up from the sheer effort. Darkness began rising up out of the ground around him and the entire area that the creature covered. The young man grit his teeth as blood began to drip down his nose. A copy of the creature began rising out of the monster's shadow. "Let's see how you like fighting yourself, you son of a bitch!" he shouted as a smirk crossed his face, which quickly disappeared as his muscles completely seized up and he collapsed to the ground. His eyes shifted back to blue as he convulsed on the ground. He heaved on the ground, trying to recover as he strained to look up at the monster again.
Too...big.... was the only thing he could think as spasms wracked his body.
