Episode 1: Red as Blood, White as Snow

Following the disappearance of the Princess during the Festival of the Mount, the Kingdom of Rift’s royal family petitioned the Council to open an investigation against the other three kingdoms - particularly the Kingdom of Legion. It is their belief that foul play was involved in the Princess’ disappearance, pointing to a recent billion Lien trade agreement falling through as Legion’s potential involvement in the incident. Legion’s Chairman, Aldous Barnett, refused to comment on these allegations at first. Instead, he suggested the leaders of the Kingdoms meet at a summit held in Pinnacle, where they could discuss the incident and the many possible scenarios they could be facing.
Two months passed, the summit was held. Media reports it as a catastrophic failure, citing Eisen Sablier’s wrathful outbursts towards Chairman Barnett and his absolute refusal to listen to reason. Other outlets even reported physical violence between summit spectators. Despite this, the representatives of Pinnacle and Setek were able to voice their own concerns. The “Blacklands” had remained, as far as everyone was concerned, untouched and unexplored since the battle against the Black Witch. What sort of evils waited beneath its dark depths were uncertain, but with people - particularly the Cult of St. Ashes - predicting the return of the Four Wills, the present times were much too dangerous to stir up any feelings that might rally the creatures of Grimm against them.
With that, the summit ended, and everyone returned home. For some, however, that wasn’t enough.
A week following the summit, it was announced that an assassin had been taken into custody after attempting to kill Chairman Barnett. While he was able to survive with minor injuries, the Chairman appeared live and made the claim that the assailant was sent from the Kingdom of Rift according to “interrogation reports”. Fearing the worst, the Kingdoms of Pinnacle and Setek chose to remain silent on the matter, instead offering sanctuary to those wishing to flee from any impending violence.
Only a few days ago, there were unverifiable reports of a massive force moving from Legion to the south.
It has been four months since the Festival of the Mount.

- This is a combat thread.
- Most enemies will be NPC'd, controlled by a Moderator.
- You must specify whatever equipment your character has on their person in your first post.
- You are expected to post in the thread at least once per day. If you do not post while there is combat occurring, your post will be skipped and you will suffer one-hundred (100) points of Aura damage. If this reduces you to zero Aura, you will be removed from the thread unconscious. Failure to post in non-combat portions of the thread will simply result in being skipped.
- This episode is expected to last approximately 1 week.
