精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @open WORDS count here NOTESCOME AND LEARN YOU YOUNGBUCKS! | In the days which led to the Vytal Festival the campus and the whole island were frenzied with people preparing for booths, for the fighting, and for fun. In response to this a few Professors had allowed there students to be excused from their daily training and lectures. It was a moment of rejoice for the more relaxed students and extra time to study for the dutiful. The campus was alive with young adults going on with their lives. Goofing off or simply enjoying themselves. The sun was out on the Tuesday afternoon and the mild temperature reached a comfortable high. With that scenario set, a few students were not so fortunate.
In a lecture hall on the second floor of Vytal Hall, Professor Thorn was holding a mandatory lecture. One he drilled the importance of into the heads of his new Freshmen students for the past several days. Should anyone fail to come to the lecture and stay until the end, Zari would mark them down a letter grade. Anyone and everyone he taught was to report to the lecture hall. The current time was one-twenty, the exact time the lecture would begin.
The room was nothing too special; the walls were a light blue which was easy on the eyes. There were several rows for students to sit in, each inclining the further back they went. In each row three long wooden desks could sit four students comfortably to each section. In the front was a small metal desk for the Professor to take his place. The desk was contrast to Zari; for it was a dark black metal while the Professor was pale in skin and in hair color. The only color which came from his person was his emerald-green left-eye. Hanging from his desk were a pair of tonfa, equally dark.
As a few stragglers walked into the lecture hall he looked up to the clock and to the watch on his wrist. The handsome man would whisper a sigh before gathering a small stack of heavy-looking tomes. Before slamming them onto the desk before him Zari huffed and greeted his students. "Good afternoon Students. So happy to know most of you have been paying attention." A frightening 'thud' waved throughout the room for a moment as Zari's tomes slapped the metal desk. Dusting off his gloved hands, he tightened his red neck-tie before grabbing a stick of chalk. "I understand most other classes have been let out today in anticipation for the festival coming up. And while I traditionally follow this path, I wished to withhold that option. Instead I believe I must go in-depth on the Flow of Aura and how to best channel the force. Any questions? Topics individuals feel need to be explained more? Reasons you are having trouble with controlling your aura? Perhaps you want to get some jokes out of the way before I start my lesson? I really dislike being interrupted."

Ciela was bored out of her mind already and the class hadn't even really begun. She breathed deeply, setting her chin on her hands and staring at Professor Thorn. She'd rather strategically chosen her seat, towards the back but not actually in the back. That way she gained many of the laziness benefits of being in the back of the class, without some of the scrutiny that actually being in the back granted. So she was just chillin' in the back, doodling in her notebook.
She did want to just go to the festival already, but Prof Thorn just had to hold class today, because Ciela really needed a wet blanket on an already slow day. She'd gotten out much of her energy with a quick flight around the grounds right before coming to class, but it wasn't quite enough, she felt. 142 | @troubadourtales | Inner monologue. Fuuuun.

精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @open WORDS count here NOTESCOME AND LEARN YOU YOUNGBUCKS! | "Nothing at all huh?" Zari asked while he rolled up the white dress-shirt sleeves. His green eye looked over the lecture hall to see the disappointed faces of his Freshmen class. A sigh escaped through his nostrils before he offered them a subtle shrug. Moving over to the blackboard the Professor began writing down a series of words. Energy, Soul, Power, Life. After which he placed his chalk down and looked around the class. "Energy, Soul, Power, and Life. Who can tell me the obvious answer to this timeless riddle. Hm?" After a moment of silence the Professor crossed his arms and narrowed his gaze around the classroom.
His eyes shifted towards the back of the class; a lone student sat sleeping with their mouth agape. "I see. So I was right to have this class it seems. If no one can tell me what it is, I might just have to hold you all loner than I intended to." Zari made a motion towards his desk before taking hold of his tonfa. In a split-second the weapons were brought to life with a white-aura surrounding them. "Aura people. They are all relate to Aura. But that is not all."
Zari took aim to the sleeping student before clapping his wooden weapons together. As they met a sharp echo disrupted the air. The pair of tonfa then went flying through the air, repeatedly bouncing off the walls and floor. "Each of these attributes are can be wild and unpredictable just like your Aura. Or the usage of Aura. If you aren't careful with the output you're in shit. Too much you dry up, too little then you aren't potent." After a moment of flying through the classroom, Zari's weapons found their targets. In rapid succession; the first slammed into the students stomach before the second slammed their mouth shut by hitting their chin. "Today I will be guiding you through how to get to that blissful middle. So pay attention!"
Zari turned his attention to Ciela and pointed his gloved hand. "Miss Azurios, what is required to unlock the Aura of a person?"

Professor Thorn was talking about stuff Ciela already knew. She knew what Aura was and what it did already; that much Uncle Reg had taught her when she was still in undergraduate classes. She was doodling possible modifications or tricks that she could do with Cloudburst Queen when this class finally let out, when something finally started happening, drawing her attention upward. Someone had fallen asleep, rather obviously.
Amateur. Ciela thought to herself, watching what happened next. Prof Thorn picked up his weapons and clapped them together, causing her to flinch, and then they started bouncing everywhere. Ciela's head snapped every which way as she tried to track where the professor's tonfa were bouncing; it made good practice to keep her eyes sharp for flying. They rebounded all around the room, before both of them slammed into the sleeping student. It took a lot more willpower than Ciela wanted to admit to to not burst out laughing at the scene. That was one hell of a way to wake up.
"Miss Azurios, what is required to unlock the Aura of a person?" It took Ciela a moment to realize that she'd just been spoken to, and she jolted a little, suddenly turning to face Prof Thorn.
"Usually the Aura will unlock on its own in a stressful situation, but it can manually unlocked by someone else with Aura." Ciela responded, gulping. Hopefully that was a good enough answer for him to ignore her for the rest of class, but she highly doubted it. Prof Thorn was not the kind of teacher to let kids just sit in the back and doodle without having to field a question or twenty. 279 | @troubadourtales | Inner monologue. Fuuuun.

Zari nodded before walking away and standing in front of the board. He took a piece of chalk and began to write on the board. "It is Stress. Or it is force. Either way a human is not able to access their aura knowingly without some force acting upon it." He then turned around and crossed out bother words. "That is the old way of thinking. The standard and easy was to think about it. While it is hard to accomplish there are Monks who have drawn out their Aura through meditation. They studied the principles and methods of using Aura. What it can and can't do. After much time they were able to simply will it out. Control it with their minds. This is what I am on about today class."
He then placed the chalk down and and put his weapons to the side. "To control and master the flow of Aura around yourself is akin to becoming a master marksmen. Managing the output and usage of your own power is just like maintaining your weapons. Most underclassmen and some upperclassmen forget this simple reality. Hell even some Hunters. And that is why their will lose a fight against other Hunters. Or lose their life to Grimm. Now would someone like to approach the front of the class and demonstrate how they utilize their Aura? Buddy you're a young man hard man, Shoutin' in the street gonna take on the world some day!
Well, if there was anything that that Raven didn't expect out of his Freshmen year in the academy, he certainly didn't think he'd be taking one of Professor Thorn's classes. It was a 'mandatory lesson', the dashboard read, and it apparently listed the following students that the white-haired boogieman apparently felt that needed it, which, was obviously most - if not all the Freshmen that were in this academy. With the festival around the corner, he could almost hear some students just groaning with obvious excitement at the mention of a potential lesson from their favorite professor. Even though the mute was somewhat reluctant to participate, he forced himself to go through those damned hallways that led way towards the lecture room. Of course, Raven arrived earlier than most, and he'd sat himself at the corner of the classroom, so that the professor wouldn't notice him the moment he entered. However, the room seemed to be quickly filling up, and with signs of disgruntled students about what lesson was going to be, the boy had a feeling that this was going to take a lot longer than he'd hoped for. This also meant that he was going to be late for his dance practice that he scheduled with Celia, so as he typed away into his scroll to let her know not to wait for him, the white-haired man entered the room before his heavy set of books slammed on the table, catching everyone's attention at an instant. Those tombs looked ancient, and did that mean that they were going to have to get through the whole thing? Yes. It was a good thing that the mute had come prepared with a phone to keep himself entertained with messages returned to him by Celia - otherwise, his brain would simply turn to a mush before this whole thing was over. However, the mute's attention was ripped from the device when he heard noises of things being thrown across the room, and bouncing off the walls, apparently. A pair of tonfas almost flew at his head, but the boy managed to dodge just in time to see it bounce off somewhere else and hit some poor sod's head. Two times. If Raven hadn't been paying attention, he probably would've ended up like that kid, but he couldn't help but almost laugh at the scene. That was indeed one heck of a way to wake up someone, and what did they expect out of a class that was taught by a veteran hunter? Did the students simply expect to be able to sleep quietly? Shaking his head, the brunette turned his attention towards the Professor who now seemed to be giving an overview of what this lesson was about: Aura. And how to use it correctly without draining themselves. Now that was the kind of lesson that he seemed to need, and without any further due, the boy took out a note and a pen to jot down whatever know-hows the man was about to pour to them. But as always, Professor Thorn started with a very obvious, and basic question asked to all Hunters and Huntresses: How did one awaken their aura? Even the mute knew the answer to that one, and the pink-haired student not too far off from where he was sitting managed to answer it quite accurately, but... "That is the old way of thinking. The standard and easy was to think about it. While it is hard to accomplish there are Monks who have drawn out their Aura through meditation. They studied the principles and methods of using Aura. What it can and can't do. After much time they were able to simply will it out. Control it with their minds. This is what I am on about today class. To control and master the flow of Aura around yourself is akin to becoming a master marksmen. Without trying to blow a hole in the roof?"Again, there was not a single volunteer willing to come up to the front of the room, and quite understandably so. This went beyond a simple stage freight. Revealing their aura meant that they were revealing themselves, a part of their secret, their tactics. No students in their right minds would simply go up just show everyone in front of them what their powers were, despite them all being one and the same. Even though they were no more than students, most of them realized that they were also potential future competitors. The fact that the professor was forcing them to do it... well, that was also very frightening thing. Did he realize their positions? Most likely so, given his background, but he didn't think Professor Thorn would do it without a good reason. He was giving them a chance to correct their mistakes. Their faults. If the brunette was able to do that during this man's lesson, then he was more than willing to step forward. Standing up from where he sat, the mute walked down the alleyways, already earning some looks of the frightened students. Already, Raven had earned quite a bit of infamy after his bout with the teacher, the scorched training field was still under repairs due to the damage done by his weapon and there were still quite a bit of windows getting replaced next week as the result of the fighting. As Raven walked up to the taller man, the boy gave him a look as if to say: 'It's been a while' before transforming his left prosthetic arm into the full glory known as the 'Hellhound' with a flick of a wrist. The obsidian metal plates slid, and popped forth, forming savagely clawed fingers and armored plates much like that of Barghast's. As the metal darkly shone under the light of the classroom, he began to walk up to a dummy target that rose from the floor. Then, with his left arm reeled back, the mute slammed his armored fist into the target with the kind of violence expected out of him. As the aura poured forth from his body before miliseconds of contact, what seemed like a bolt of lightning ran towards the spiked knuckles. By the time the fist pummeled into its intended area, the spiked knuckles began to crush the soft target's flesh, biting into it. The metal frames inside groaned and bent under the stress of the sheer force and strength that the arm exuded. The impact, however, caused an explosive chain reaction in his black arm, triggering the canister within the arm to create the sort of explosion one would see out of a shell fired from an artillery. The volatile fireball lit the stage, and with the aura poured into his weapon, it seemed to create a secondary shockwave that followed thereafter, ripping away whatever resistance that the target had left. The explosion literally ripped, and liquefied the victim's flesh off of its metal skeleton. A devastating end to the fireworks from hell. If one were to describe the scenery, it was very much like a miniature nuclear explosion going off in the room, all of it concentrated into a single point of the target, focused on utter annihilation of the enemy. In fact, it almost seemed as if the target had no longer existed. At the epicenter of the smoke, the boy stood, his aura was still crackling through his body, coursing through him like a miniature lightning storm. The smell of the burning ballistic gel caused Raven to scrunch up his nose. He did create an explosion, after all, so that was to be expected. Satisfied with his work, the mute student turned his golden eyes towards the teacher expectantly, obviously wanting a pointer about the technique he'd used. MADE BY VEL OF GS

"Now would someone like to approach the front of the class and demonstrate how they utilize their Aura? Without trying to blow a hole in the roof?"
Ciela sank into her chair with a relieved sigh. It seemed that she'd managed to give the correct answer. She had forgotten how low the chairs were though, so she almost sank below the desk before scrambling back up into a sitting position, which still only really let her head pop up above the desk. Her height (or lack thereof) had its advantages and its disadvantages, but she got the feeling just sitting here and trying not to be noticed by Prof Thorn would only end poorly for her. She clambered her way into a kneeling position, giving herself a little boost which let her see what was going on.
A student was approaching the front, one she didn't recognize immediately. Seems he was the one who was taking up Prof Thorn's offer to demonstrate Aura and it's use. Without blowing that hole in the roof. The look in his eyes made Ciela doubt he'd actually succeed at not blowing a hole in the school. She decided to batten down the hatches as best she could, for when it happened.
And then his arm changed.
Her eyes nearly popped out of her head as she watched this student's arm shift and mutate into... something rather akin to a Grimm claw. She didn't know much about the Grimm but that thing did not look human in the slightest. She took a firm grip on the desk, waiting for the other shoe to drop. The dummy rose out of the floor, and she noticed a few other students seemingly preparing for impact. When it came, Ciela was nowhere even close to ready.
"AAAAAAAAAUGH!" Ciela screamed as she went flying out of her chair, her tiny body nearly flung to the back of the room by the impressive impact. If she hadn't snapped her wings open and quickly caught herself, hovering about ten feet above the floor to catch her breath, she'd have likely gone flying through a window, or worse, through a wall. She quickly floated back to her seat and started arranging her hair back into place, folding her wings closed and trying to act like nothing had happened. A particularly perceptive individual might have noticed her hands shaking as she tried to fix her hair. 402 | @troubadourtales | Inner monologue. Fuuuun.

精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. WORDS count here NOTESCOME AND LEARN YOU YOUNGBUCKS! | As Raven approached the front of the class Zari graced him with a welcoming smirk. At Raven's telling-glance Zari offered a subtle nod to the boy, acknowledging his presence and welcoming him to the front. Zari would take a few steps back as he crossed his arms. "Okay now. Lets see what you got." He muttered as a foot turned and Zari's knees bent slightly. He didn't think Raven would be so willing to demonstrate his explosive moves. Progress it seemed.
After a moment the explosive punch was launched. Almost immediately the dummy was destroyed like...well...a dummy.
Over the sounds of the blast and debris that would scatter into the air, Zari looked into the crowd of students as a few were seemingly stunned. While some were sent into a frenzy. And then there was Ciela who was becoming a literal mess thanks to the shocking impact. The professor sighed as he placed a hand on his eye. "This is what I must work with huh?" He muttered under his breath. "Any. Raven that was very informative. Not exactly what I had in mind. But it will still serve a purpose." A light pat on the shoulder would follow before Zari shifted towards the dummy.
The ruined target sank into the floor as six new dummies rose up. "Now class. What Raven just demonstrated was a very blunt and powerful example of offensive aura power. Combining your soul with a weapon increases the power output. Yet what most people try to do is got all-out without a care for their necessary output. And it is clear why. If you are going to go be using your own life-force to attack, might as well use all you can. It is easier to go with brute force." Spinning around to the new dummy, Zari took a his position and cocked his arm back.
Professor Thorn's fist soon glowed with a pale light before his fist punched clean through the dummy. As his hand stuck out of the target's back, his fist held in it a piece of the metallic frame that resembled a spine.
Professor Zari would retract his hand easily and look to the dummy. Nothing other than the hole in it's chest was touched. No sound or light other than his aura's glow. "This was a more tame execution. Power is good. But if you can focus on a single spot, it will conserve aura and complish things quicker. Raven. Try to a do same. In the dummy beside me, a glass was used to resemble the spine. As horrible as this exercise may seem please extract the glass rod for me without breaking it. With only one attack."

Buddy you're a young man hard man, Shoutin' in the street gonna take on the world some day!
As the dummy had gone down back into the floor, Raven listened as the professor began to explain to the class about the usage of one's aura, and how it ought to be used. Admittedly, the boy did feel as though he did put in a little too much aura into the attack itself. It was almost a complete, utter overkill by all standards, blowing up an immobile, non-responsive target with what almost looked to be a miniature nuclear explosion. Though it was only a fraction of the strength he'd exuded, he could feel its aftereffect putting a dent on his soul. Maybe there was a lot more efficient way to do this, but that was when the Professor Thorn had gone out of the way to show the class to show them how it was really done. Like that strange Dust crystal he'd used, the man's hand began to faintly glow in a pale light. It danced in his hand, but it soon began to take a more 'solidified'-looking form. Though Raven knew how to apply his aura in various ways, but seeing it being used like this was the first - or perhaps he never paid too close of an attention to such classes. Whatever the case may be, the man's intentions for the new target was clear. The man reeled his arm back, and in one quick thrust, his penetrated through the ballistic gelatin, through all the simulated bone structures, through the organs and out the back, holding the spine of his foe. It was a simple, but very brutal display of feat of what a real hunter could do. The thought of it being executed in real life almost made the boy hurl, but he somehow managed to keep the contents of his breakfast down nonetheless. Then as Professor Thorn began to retract his hand away from the dummy, the mute's golden iris' turned towards the hole that was made at the center of the target. It was so clean compared to what he'd done. There almost was no mess, or things being thrown around everywhere. The only mess Raven could see was the melted gel of the outer coating to simulate human flesh dripping down on the floor from sheer heat. If this was what this man could've done to him if he truly got serious in a fight, then it was truly a terrifying prospect for him. Professor did mention that he was a part of a large criminal organization in the past, and had killed under their name. Seeing this only made him truly believe in his story even more. With only one attack." ... With one attack, huh? This man almost seemed to capitalize everything with one blow. Raven wasn't quite sure if he could possibly be as precise as the professor, but he was up to the challenge nonetheless. Like the demonstration, the mute channeled his aura into the hound's fingertips, focusing it at a single spot to harden it, strengthening it. It crackled and danced wildly in his hands like a miniature thunderstorm going off, a polar opposite to what the professor had previously shown him, but it worked nonetheless. Once he thought his attack was ready, he reeled back and plunged his hand into the target, driving it inward with both his strength - as well as aura's own like a terrible spear. The fingers tore and ripped through its soft flesh, its simulated muscle tissues, bones and organs alike. It felt much cleaner, felt a less strain being put on his soul, but at the end of it all, Raven couldn't grab the spine as Professor had done - in fact, he'd stopped halfway almost as if the boy had lost his concentration during the process, but he could still feel the glass spine of his victim touching the edge of his fingertip. Raven frowned at this as he pulled his hand out of the target's flesh. Though the effects weren't exactly as what Professor Thorn might've previously wanted out of him, it was still yet big and deep enough to be a killing blow to serve as a point, nonetheless. If anyone were to take that, then... well, the chances of them surviving such wounds were quite slim. <"This is more difficult than I imagined. Lose concentration and you lose it, huh?">MADE BY VEL OF GS
