4:00 PM, 9/8/X1
Dusty walked slowly along a rack of weapons, handguns, to be exact, his blue eyes scanning the rows upon rows of pistols and revolvers. It was honestly kind of ridiculous with how many there actually were. Single shot, semi-automatic, fully automatic, three round burst, machine pistols, double barrel, multiple barrels, pistol that shot shotgun shells instead of regular bullets, pistols with scopes, pistols that shot freaking sniper rifle bullets instead of regular bullets. The list went on and on and Dusty couldn't even begin to guess which one to use. He held up his right hand, his fingers inches from the different handguns as his brow furrowed in concentration. "What to choose, what to choose, what to choose..." he mumbled to himself, scratching his chin. He, after much debate on a topic he didn't know very much about in the first place, picked up a pistol labelled as an M1911 and grabbed the matching magazine.
Dusty turned towards the shooting range, loading the magazine into the gun, chambering a round, and flicking off the safety off. The only reason he wanted to "expand his horizons," as it were. Daybreaker was a good weapon, there was no doubt about that, but a bow and arrow could fire so fast. He wanted to add a handgun to his arsenal to add a little bit of extra speed to his combat capabilities. Plus, a handgun could have just as much versatility as his bow had. He stopped about thirty feet from a target and raised the pistol before quickly firing off three rounds. Smoke rose off of the barrel as Dusty looked down at the target, sucking on his teeth as he did. It wasn't very good. None of the three shots hit center mass, so regular bullets wouldn't have done him any real good. The young man flicked the safety back on and studied the pistol for a moment before quickly snapping the safety back off and hitting a button on a nearby console. Slowly, the range adjusted forming a shooting range filled with barriers and other obstructions.
Dusty grabbed two more magazines and slipped them into the pocket of his jacket before turning back to the course. He quickly took off in a sprint, holding the M1911 up and firing rounds out of it at the target. The last round shot out of the pistol and he quickly dropped the mag and reloaded. He continued firing as he vaulted over a barrier and dropped into a slide underneath a table. The second mag emptied and he reloaded with the final mag as he rolled back to his feet. He quickly jumped up, boosting himself higher into the air and allowing him to flip over the target. He kept up his barrage of bullets as he sailed through the air until he landed on the ground and placed the smoking barrel of the gun against the back of the target's head. He pulled the trigger one last time, putting the final round of his last magazine through the target's head. He stood still for a moment before snapping the safety back on and lowering the gun.
"Damn, that was actually kind of fun," Dusty said as he studied the 1911 with a smirk.

Lily had just been arriving at the training grounds. As was her usual course of action, she scanned everybody present. She recognized a face or two. One was a kid who had berated her for hunting and cooking pigeons on school grounds. A red flush entered her cheeks as she remembered the embarrassing situation anew. The other face she recognized was the boy who had valiantly arrived to fight for the princess. She smiled, he was a good fighter, and that bow of his was something else. She watched for a short time, before starting her own exercises. She was here today to work on her Semblance. She was better at it than she'd originally been, but she still had a lot of practice to do.
She was only able to travel in relatively straight lines, so that's what she'd be working on today. The friction incurred while changing directions at the kinds of speed she could travel was really hard to manage. She would get slightly off course, and wind up tripping and falling all over herself. This could be... less than pleasant. She wanted more control over her paths, so that she could be more effective and flexible in a combat scenario.
She went to the most secluded section of the training grounds, and started dashing back and forth in as long a stretch as she could without intercepting anyone elses training areas. She started by going back and forth a few times, leaving her signature trail of bright white light to mark her path. She then tried two reps with very minor changes in her direction. It looked kind of like a wave of light was left behind her after those attempts. However, on her fifth attempt, when attempting to make the path she took much more serpentine in nature, she found herself tripped by the unusual pattern. She stopped her semblance as quickly as she could, and wound up tumbling out of her light speed quite violently. She skidded across the ground a few times, bouncing, with gaps of about twenty feet in between touchdowns to the ground. As she was starting to slow down, and was close to regaining her balance, she realized that she was moments away from slamming into someone. She knew there was no way that she would right herself at this late stage in the fall, so she braced for impact, and prayed that she wouldn't do any real damage to the unfortunate boy that she was about to interrupt.

Dusty had walked over to the gun rack again as Lily walked in and his attention was focused there. He set the 1911 back down on in its original spot and began perusing again. His fingers trailed over the different handguns, settling on one called the FN Five-Seven. He brought the gun up and looked down the sights of the pistol. He liked the feel of this one, probably even more than the M1911 he was using before. It was smaller, quicker, and had a larger magazine, though the rounds were smaller and didn't back as much punch. Not bad, by his untrained standards. The glow sights were a nice touch, too, in his opinion.
Dusty set the handgun back down and continued down the rack, reaching the revolvers. He had heard that these were some heavy hitters when it came to raw power, though they had low ammo and slow fire rate. The young man picked up a revolver called a Colt Anaconda and looked down the gun's sights. "Hmm," he mused as his thumbed back the hammer of the gun. He cracked a grin as he watched the cylinder rotate around. It made him feel like a cowboy from those old movies and books he'd seen and it was honestly like a childhood dream come true, even though he never really wanted to be cowboy. He quickly turned and aimed the gun towards the target again, his face breaking out in a mad smile as he placed his thumb on the safety. "It's high- oh shit!" Dusty didn't get the chance to click the safety off before he was suddenly tackled at high speeds. He went tumbling across the ground end over end in a tangle of limbs. The revolver went flying out of his hand and luckily didn't go off when it hit the ground. After a moment, his eyes shot open, his irises completely black. Almost instantly after, a large shadow hand shot out of a shadow directly in their path and Dusty felt his back collide with his construct and his glasses go flying. "Oh, dammit," he thought as his thoughts re-orientated themselves.
"What exactly happened just now?"Dusty said as he rubbed his head to ease its aching.

Lily felt that she had collided with something while practicing her Semblance. She had lost her footing, and gone tumbling. This could have definitely been a lot worse. Whatever she'd hit, it was warm, it was soft. It was a person. Her head was a little fuzzy at first. Though it came back to her pretty quick. She had been crashing. She was crashing into someone.
She hadn't been going her full mach two, but she was still going inhumanely fast. She tried to jump to her feet, but found her limbs tangled up in the boy's.
"O-oh my god, I'm so sorry!" She said embarrassed, her face a bright shade of pink. She did her best to disentangle herself from him. She got a hand free, and moved it to the ground nearby before further disentangling herself. She stood up, and dusted herself off, before looking down at the boy she'd collided with. He looked familiar, it took all of a second before she recognized the boy who was first to the princesses' side in the battle at Setek.
"Oh hey I know you!" She said, offering him a hand up. "You were at Setek, you uhm..." She didn't actually know many of those warriors by name yet. "You and that bow were fearsome combatants. I was glad that you stood with me that day."
She didn't notice the glasses that were just in between her feet. Luckily for the boy and his vision, she had missed stepping on them by about three inches.
"I'm Lily, I was there too, though I don't think I accomplished quite as much as you guys did." She said a bit sheepishly. She watched, waiting for the boy to stand up, hoping that he wasn't terribly injured or anything. She had hit him at pretty high speeds, and though her tripping would have reduced them considerably, she imagined the damage wasn't nothing. Though he did seem to be a capable fighter, perhaps he'd protected himself with aura at the last moment and mitigated most of the pain. Or, perhaps he'd just been lucky and found himself uninjured though sheer chance. Either way, she still felt awful about letting herself lose control like that.

Dusty's shadow hand slowly lowered itself back into the ground, letting its creator get back to his feet. Not that it did him any good. Absolutely everything he could see was a giant, blurry blob. When the girl, he assumed it was a girl based on the sound of her voice, apologized, he turned to look at her, but didn't really look at her. Its hard to focus on something resembling a movie monster as opposed to a human. Damn his eyes. Why did he have to get stuck with this bad of vision when some people got not being able to see things at long distances very well.
"It's alright. I've taken worse punishment, plus aura is a pretty good metaphysical bubble wrap," Dusty said, waving his hand dismissively. He stared at her blankly again when she said she recognized him from Setek, unable to say the same of her. He shrugged in response. "What can I say? Just had to get the job done. Don't sell yourself short, either. Everyone helped out in their own way and all of it brought down that beast. It's a shame that my jacket couldn't make the same claim..." His brow furrowed in frustration and he kicked at the dirt. It had taken him hours to clean his jacket off after that.
"Before we continue, do you mind helping me find my glasses?" he asked suddenly. "I seriously can't see a single detail on your face and I'm afraid I'll step on them and crush them if I try to find them myself."

Watching the strange shadowy hand, Lily took note of what must be this boy's semblance. She'd seen the shadowy attacks in Setek as well, but had somehow failed to register that this boy was the source of them. She looked around for a moment, seeing if she could spot the glasses he spoke of. She found a pair of glass lenses just below her without much effort at all, and picked them up. She was curious about them, looking through the strange glass and seeing the light distorted as you peered through them. She'd seen many people walking around with these on their faces, covering their eyes. She wondered how any of them possibly walked in a straight line, but decided not to comment in case she said something offensive in the process.
She handed them over to the boy who was taking being tackled at extremely high speeds remarkably well. Offering up another apology as she did so.
"Sorry again, but here are your eye blurrers." She said, having already forgotten the term he'd used moments before. She normally would have remembered, but her mind was slightly preoccupied analyzing this boy. She hadn't been up close to him before, and took the opportunity to size him up. He was not too much taller than herself, only about four inches or so. He was also obviously in shape. She could tell the boy sported a good physique veiled beneath his baggy clothing. She wasn't sure how strong he was, but from what she'd seen in the fight at Setek, he had a few dangerous abilities at his disposal.
She briefly wondered how she would do in a serious fight against this boy, wondering exactly how the speed of his arrows matched up with her own speed. She liked to think of herself as faster than everything, and in her own experience that had always proven to be true. Still though, there were bound to be forces out there that even the speedy girl's lightning fast semblance could not contend with.
