Alright, so back in junior year of high school (I think?), a buddy of mine and I started building this fantasy world type deal and a while back, I revamped it so it is far more fleshed out that it was originally. I have the basic story line settled on, but what good does that do me without characters and lore to fill it? Right now, I'm working on how the countries of the continent where it takes place was founded with each royal houses' founders, house symbols, weapons, etc. Because I'm not very good at naming and generators can only take me so far, I decided to come to you guys! So, here's what I've got so far:
Noble Houses
- House Insata
o Founder: Emrys Insata/<Dragon Name Here>, the Wings of <Continent Name>
o Country: Calletaia
o Symbol: Eagle Head
o Weapon:
- House Balcomb
o Founder: Josiah Balcomb/<Dragon Name Here>, the Claws of <Continent Name>
o Country:
o Symbol: Helmet with a crack diagonally along it
o Weapon:
- House Woodyer
o Founder: Evelyn Woodyer/<Dragon Name Here>, the Scales of <Continent Name>
o Country:
o Symbol:
o Weapon:
- House Gallomere
o Founder: Arabella Gallomere/<Dragon Name Here>, the Head of <Continent Name>
o Country:
o Symbol: Rising Sun
o Weapon:
- House Rutherhope
o Founder: Gwyneira Rutherhope/<Dragon Name Here>, the Fiery Breath of <Continent Name>
o Country:
o Symbol:
o Weapon: Dei Assula
Not a lot, right? And also, what the hell does "<Dragon Name Here>" mean, right? Well, in this world, the continent was originally only wildlands with dangerous creatures that prevented the humans from achieving anything. So the gods (explained at a later date, if any of y'all are interested) blessed the five most heroic people among the humans to lead humanity to prosperity. Their physical prowess were enhanced beyond any other human. While all were stronger, faster, tougher, and smarter, each had a particular skill they were the 100% best at. Emrys was the fastest and most agile man of his day, easily able to sprint miles in a matter of minutes. Josiah was strong enough to lift and shatter even the toughest and densest of metals like it was glass. Evelyn's skin and bones were completely unbreakable and her stamina could keep her going for days. Arabella had a mind so powerful, no knowledge was lost on her and nature itself bent to her will. Finally, Gwyneira. Not the most physically imposing woman, but one of such conviction and bravery with an absolutely indomitable will that she quickly proved herself the mightiest of the five.
Each leader had their own weapon, as well. Emrys wielded a wicked sharp razor that could pierce through nearly any material placed in front of him. Legends say he could split fog itself with his blade. Josiah wielded a war ax tough enough and strong enough to cleave through mountains when combined with his own monstrous strength. Gwyneira wielded a very unfitting weapon for someone of her stature: a great sword fashioned from the fiercest beast that roamed the wilds of the continent. The other two, I'm not entirely sure what to do ._. Help here is appreciated.
Now, for the dragon thing. You see, the greatest power the gods granted the heroes was the ability to change their form into that of a dragon. Now, this ability was not hereditary and their descendants don't get this power, but the weapons they wielded can only be used by those that have the dragon blood the founders bore in them.
As a note, magic is not in the traditional kind of magic. I know that most people will look at Arabella and think "Mage! Spell book!", but magic can't be used by humans without being blessed by the god of magic (again, can be explained if your curious about it).
