It's without fail an expected outcome; the civil war between the kingdom of Legion and the kingdom of Rift, without a doubt had caused turmoil within the people. Members of the kingdom of Rift had been ostracized by their fellow Legion citizens, and vice versa. The great enmity between the two has lead to a general hostility not just in Rift where the fights had taken place, but in Legion as well.
Within the busy and cold streets stood a young girl in her late teens, dressed in Cela-Pinnacle garbs of whites, reds and pinks. It was clear this girl wasn't a local, reinforced by the slight Celan accent of hers, this girl with pastel pink hair had been standing atop a crate, speaking aloud for the passerbys to hear. A calm determined expression covered her face, complimented by her speech.
"Now is a time of forgiveness, peace and camaraderie. The deed is done, blood has been shed. Unnecessarily, in my own eyes, but however, there is no longer any semblance of a need for conquest nor hatred! Put aside your enmity towards your fellow Man and Faunus, whilst our people are scattered and at each others throats fighting a war against one another, it is up to all of you as the people they are fighting for to forgive such that we can end this horror."
The girl had announced in hopes to calm the people. She was well aware of the situation, a missing princess was certainly plenty to be angry about, but nonetheless, despite her likely unpopular opinion, the girl continued to relay her message to the people. Knowing that these negative emotions were what the forces of Grimm lust after, she was aware she had to all that she could to help prevent such an attack, of course even the slight mention of the Grimm could put people into panic, she had remained silent of that reminder and kept her message a pure one of hope and caring. Whilst most who heard her message would pass her by like any stranger on the streets, the occasional one or two who stayed to listen to her message had given her hope.
This Celan girl herself wasn't exactly an individual inspired to partake in her religious duties, most usually partaking in them out of pure duty to her family, but in cases such as this, she had found the need to do so.

[nospaces] PEACEFUL TIMES [break][break]
The shrill beeping of an alarm echoed through the quiet apartment, bouncing off the walls until it eventually made its way to Coquel’s ears. Her eyes shot open, their pupils dilating rapidly to adjust to the darkness of the room. Judging by the light invading the shadows through the blinds, Coquel deduced it was either late in the morning or rather early in the afternoon. Without peeking at the alarm clock, she unplugged the device mid-buzz and rolled onto her side. This had been how she spent her free time since returning home. This was her life without the person she had cared for most. Her arm extended to the empty space on the bed beside her, and for a second she had to fight off a near devastating swell of tears. Gripping onto the sheets, her teeth grated together as she choked down a quiet sob. This had to have been some sort of punishment.[break][break]
It just had to be.[break][break]
Despite having returned to Legion from the city of Rift a couple weeks ago, Coquel had spent almost every minute since then locked up in her room. Depression had plagued the girl that, regardless of what was thrown her way in a given day, managed to find any way she could to shrug it off. The proverbial dirt on the shoulder, as it were, was something that never seemed to weigh her down. None of those things even came close to stacking up against the emptiness she now felt. With all she had gone through in her short life, all the things she was still expected to do for the Fang, a part of Coquel dreamed that her constant lying and running away had finally come to an end. Elijah was her rock - her support whenever she needed it - and the only true source of comfort she had in her darkest nights. Now, because Legion was scared into striking a crippling blow to Rift, he was gone.[break][break]
A tired sigh escaped Coquel’s lips as she finally let tears roll down her face, tracing the line of her nose before eventually dripping off onto her pillow. She remained silent as she cried, holding back the impulse to scream and let it all out. Drawing attention to herself was the last thing she needed. A buzz from her Scroll drew Quel’s attention from the void at her side, and she sluggishly rolled over to check whatever message she had just received. It was from them. A preacher from the Monasteries had been spotted in the city, going on about peace and the like. She always scoffed at the idea of peace, dismissing it as a fairy tale left behind at the Monastery when she left. Never thought someone from Cela would make it all the way out here, though. What if she knew the person that was speaking to the people? The idea of seeing someone from home, after all this time, caused a slight smile to replace the emotionless expression she had sported the last several days.[break][break]
Slipping off the bed, Quel shuffled across the room with great haste and changed. Nothing too fancy, and rather casual given her usual sense of style. She observed herself for a minute, making sure everything about her was neat and in proper order. A confident nod, and she was out the door. At her side was Daedalus, strapped to her belt and ready in case she had to extinguish a fight. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that, though. Leaving the front of the apartment, Coquel was immediately stunned by the sunlight. It was definitely the afternoon. Legion was a perpetual winter wonderland, and being early January meant snow was plentiful. The light bouncing off the snow was almost blinding, but Coquel had planned ahead and snatched a pair of sunglasses before walking out. Flipping the rose-colored sunglasses over her eyes, she made her way to the location she had been given by her informants.[break][break]
There was a crowd forming around the person as they spoke. It was small, but slowly growing. It took Quel a while before finally realizing the speaker was a girl, a realization that left her feeling stupid for not noticing sooner. As she watched and listened to the girl for a few minutes, a sense of recognition began pecking at the back of Coquel’s mind. This girl looked familiar, almost too familiar. It made sense given the assumption that the girl was from Cela, and chances were high her and Quel crossed paths at least once. While she wasn’t a celebrity among the Monasteries, being the adopted daughter of one of the Celan Elders exposed Coquel to a lot of people that lived among the old temples. Now, what was this girl’s name? It prodded like a hot iron before she finally decided she couldn’t hold her tongue any longer. Drawing in a deep breath, she shouted out loud enough for the girl to hear.[break][break]
“Hey! Don’t I know you?” She inquired. She felt like such an ass for shouting out of nowhere among strangers. That said, Coquel figured she might as well go with the flow. “You came from Cela, right? The monasteries?” [googlefont=Raleway]

The young Celan girl had looked rather confused at first, as she'd seen the blonde haired woman come into the crowd rather quickly due to the rather small size of it at present, growing ever more surprised as the young woman had looked as though she were about to shout something at her. After the woman's claim that she'd recognised her, the Celan Faunus had quickly realised who she was, a rather unusual girl much older than herself from back at Cela.
"Wait... you kinda look like Mr. Ren's kid! Woah, no way, Coquel? It's me, Cheiri!" Cheiri had said with a mix of surprise and joy, much like Coquel, the young Faunus hadn't had contact with many others from the monasteries herself, and whilst a face she hadn't seen for a long time and despite the apparent age gap, it was heartwarming for the girl to see a familiar face. In fact, young Cheiri had been so joyful in fact that she'd quite literally jumped off the crate upon which she had previously stood and almost tackled the older woman for a very enthusiastic hug.
"Gods, it's been years! I was like... this teeny tiny when I last remember seeing you!" Cheiri had said rather giddily, her fox tail, normally rather well hidden had managed to free itself of its bonds and had been wagging rather crazily as the Celan girl had brought her hand into view in an effort to show Coquel how long it had been since they'd last met. In fact the young girl had been so enthusiastic about meeting someone from her childhood that she'd already grabbed Coquel's hand with both of her own and was jumping with glee like a small child and a fantastic grin plastered across her face as she'd attempted to drag her off somewhere.
"Come on! Come on! Let's go! Let's go! There's like a buncha places you need to see around here!" Cheiri said with vigor and excitement, completely happy to abandon the crate that she'd stood on, considering she had been just about ready to finish regardless, and with absolutely no consideration about the fact that her old acquaintance may or may not have been in the city of Legion for far longer than herself.

IS HE ALL THE THINGS YOU TRIED TO CHANGE ME INTO? 寂しい 。。。 ‘Mr. Ren’s kid, huh?’Coquel snickered a little in response to that. She had never heard of her father referred to as “Mr. Ren”, or any other sort of title. He had always just been “Renault” to the people of the Monastery. All that aside, it was nice to see a familiar face - even better for the familiar face to recognize her as well. A smile formed as the girl revealed her identity, and the name brought with it all kinds of memories from home. It was Cheiri! “I thought I recognized you!” Her excited voice echoed in response. “It’s so good to see you again!”The girl was right. It had been years! How many, exactly, Quel wasn’t really sure. Perhaps since her last day at the Monastery? If so, that would mean there had been at least six or so years between when the two had last seen each other and now. It was almost surreal, and there were bits of time where Coquel found herself at a loss for words. She resolved, instead, to simply smile. She’d make conversation as it came up, and hopefully not end up being terribly awkward. Flicking the hair out of her face, Coquel laughed. She remembered how small Cheiri was back then. The girl was five years her junior, a mere child at the time Coquel had left the safety of Cela and ventured out into the world. She had to have been, what? Twelve? Thirteen? Watching Cheiri hop down from the crate, Quel made her way forward and threw her arms around her in a tight hug. She was the first bit of home Quel had seen in such a long time. “It’s really nice to see you again, Cheiri!” She chimed. “I’ve missed home and everyone there so much.”Withdrawing her arms, Coquel’s face adopted a slight red hue - a consequence of the embarrassment she faced from the spontaneous hug. Placing a hand on the younger girl’s shoulder, she collected herself to settle down. Too much excitement would draw unneeded attention for both of them. “How about a walk? We could hit a cafe that I frequent and catch up!” She suggested, motioning towards the rest of the city. “I’d love to hear about your travels and what all happened at home in the time I’ve been gone, particularly how dad is doing.”DOES HE MAKE YOU CRY? DOES HE KNOW THE WAY YOU FEEL? LOVE IS ALL AROUND YOU, YOUR UNIVERSE IF FULL. BUT IN MY WORLD, THERE IS ONLY YOU. MADE BY ★MEULK
