Overview:

Following a successful preemptive attack on the city of Rift, Aldous Barnett - the Chairman of Legion - has declared the city an official piece of Legion territory. For a week, a celebratory feast is held in the Royal District for all to enjoy, building support for the Chairman that the late king found himself without. As the people warm up to Barnett, he uses the final day of the aptly named Festival of Feasts as an opportunity to announce his intent to marry the now widowed Queen of Rift. There are many that find this decision and announcement in poor taste, believing the Chairman’s hand in executing the king to be “too much”. Most, however, take the announcement positively. The Chairman had been a bachelor “for far too long” and his union with the queen would bring “peace and prosperity” between the two Kingdoms. It was out of this support, as well as their arrangement to have the runaway princess returned home safely, that led the queen to accept this proposal.

As regent King of Rift, Aldous Barnett announced his plans to unite the kingdoms and benefit both from the advantages each one holds over the other. Under the new rule, Rift and Legion would serve as two separate entities under the same universal banner. Aldous and the queen would remain in Rift, whilst an appointed regent based in Legion maintained the kingdom to the north. It is with that final decree that the best among the invasion force are given the order to return home.
