Hunters had one important job and that job was to rid the world of the creatures of grimm that threatened it. That was the job that Max and his brother in arms were on their way to do during a rather cold and snowy week. Earlier that week, Max had been walking in the Academy when he happened to pass by the schools job board and noticed something rather odd. Most of the jobs had been taken by upper classmen except for a few small time jobs, all except for one. It was a sophmore and Junior ranked mission and yet no one had snagged it up. It seemed that quite a few small villages on the boarders of the mountain continent of Pinnacle had been under siege by different types of grimm. The weird part about it was that most of the attacks seemed to happen mostly at night. Once Max got all of the info he needed, he signed himself and his friend Kyle up for the mission. Once the pair were signed up, Max called Kyle up and explained the situation and despite Kyle arguing because he had a date later that week with his new girl friend Molly, Max finally had gotten Kyle to agree after telling him that they were seeing a new continent and were being paid handsomely upon their return. Max then told Kyle to gear up and meet him at the air ship yard once he was ready because they needed to leave before the snow storm hit them. Max then quickly ran home and packed an extra suit, his ammo bag and his skateboard and then dressed in a nice warm outfit. Once that was done, Max grabbed a large present box containing a new combat outfit for Kyle he had made for him for colder climates. Once he was ready he met Kyle at the ship yard and they boarded. That was three days ago. The pair had been on the air ship for about three days and it seemed that after such a long traveling time, they were about to touch down in Pinnacle to begin their mission in about an hour. As Max waited, he sat down by one of the windows, sitting on his board. The young hunter finally pulled out the large present box and slid it across the room to his friend with a smile. "Go ahead and put this on. Pinnacle is one of the colder continents because of all the mountains. I had this made for colder climates, I thought it might help ya out. Just too review our objective, several small villages have been getting attacked for about a month now. What makes it so strange is two things, each village is on the continents boarders and the attacks seem to happen only at night when the villagers can't see to fight back. I did some background checking and have come to an incomplete conclusion that there might be a grimm made underground tunnel system that goes between each village that I believe the grimm are using to get around and the reason for the night time attacks is because they need the dark."Max's tone was a bit more serious then usual and yet slightly tired from lack of sugar and the fact that every night during their ship ride, he had stayed up late to do Grimm research to try and narrow down what kind of grimm they were dealing with. Grimm Hunting. Why did it have to be Grimm Hunting? He couldn't believe that no Sophomore or Junior student snatched up this mission. It was paying a whole lot of money! Before Max called him, he made plans with Holly to see a rom-com action flick about two swordfighters, one man and the other posing as a man, fighting together and discovering their true Semblance: Love. But before he could pre-order the tickets, Max called his scroll. If it would've anyone else, he'd have blown them off. But for Max, he'd go with him, even though he was grumbling a bit about missing quality time with his girlfriend. But he decided to assist his brother-in-arms after a hour long debate between them. As he got to the shipyard, he saw Max standing beside the airship that was taking them to their destination. Pinnacle. The last mission his parents went on was around here. Before he entered depression mode, Max seemed to kick over a present towards him. "What is it? Coal as a joooooooOOOOOOOH MY GOOOD!" It was the outfit he was looking at a few weeks ago! A cool looking hoodie that had a built-in Mic built in it, pants that had pouches WEAVED into them, and the entire thing was a blue and black color scheme! "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!" Kyle was screaming at the top of his lungs! He'd never been this happy! "I KNEW you had something to show me! Thanks man! It's just that I've also got you something...." Kyle then reaches behind him and pulls out two weird-looking boxes. "It's no outfit, but here. Thought that you'd like them." Kyle says as he tosses them at Max. "Both of them have x10 zoom on them. The purple one's night vision. You're welcome." Kyle says as he prepares to be hugged. Max Chromium Max's Gift(1)Max's gift(2)

Max couldn't help but smile as Kyle opened up his gift. Max had seen his friend looking at the outfit but thanks to the density of the outfit it would have been rather to hot to wear at their school unless it was snowing. In Pinnacle however the outfit seemed perfect. As Kyle pushed two small box's over to him, Max quickly opened each up to find two pairs of high tech goggles. As Kyle explained what each pair did, Max picked up the silver pair and pulled them over his head so that the goggles were hanging around his neck. He then slipped the purple goggles into his satchel for later use. "Thanks man! These will come in handy for the mission. You might wanna go get changed, we'll be landing soon. It will be a bit of a walk from the central transportation hub to the first village and we need to get there before nightfall."Max then smiled and stood up from his board. He then scooped it up and placed it back inside of his harness that he wore on his back before walking over to kyle and giving him a quick and gentle hug. Once the hug ended, the pilot of the jet came over the intercom and said that they would be landing at the central hub in less then ten minutes. This prompted Max to walk back over to the window where he had been sitting and sit back down. Once he was sitting he pulled out both of his pistols from his suit Jacket and checked them over. Neither one had clips in them because before he knew what he was dealing with, he didn't know what kind of ammo he needed. Since he was now pretty sure that they were dealing with Nightstalkers, he now knew what he needed. Max quickly reached into his bag and pulled out two ice bullet clips and popped them into his pistols and placed his pistols back in his Jacket. As the Jet landed on a landing strip, Max stood up and quickly placed his new goggles over his eyes to protect them from the snow as the landing ramp was lowered. Before he exited he looked back over to where Kyle would be. "I'm pretty sure we're dealing with nightstalkers. They are underground dwelling grim who live in tunnels for warmth but dig out of the ground to attack their prey to take it back to their nests. They are used to heat so fire dust won't do any good and neither will electric dust because their hides are so thick. Our best bet is Ice dust because they can't stand the cold."Once Max was done with his explanation, he exited down the ramp and then pulled his skateboard from it's harness and dropped it to the ground before mounting it. It was obvious that Max was born to lead when it came to small groups of two. He had studied hard and had made notes and seemed ready for anything. "The first village is about 20 miles to the north. There should be a rest stop and a vehicle rental place about half way there so we don't have to walk the whole way. It's about Noon now so I would say we have about seven hours before dusk. Our primary objective is to find the exit points of the nightstalkers near each village and plug them and then follow their tunnels back to their underground nest and clean house. Let's get moving."With a small grin showing he kind of liked being in charge, Max propelled himself forward to start their journey. Kyle Alodis

Once Max was done with his explanation, Kyle began to check his weapons and their clips. He had brought some of his normal rounds for attacking any other targets, but as soon as Max recommended Ice, Kyle checked his pouch again. Rifle clips(Ice): Four. Pistol Clips(Ice): three. He loaded them up, switch rapid fire mode to single fire, and started changing. He took off his normal attire and into the outfit Max gave him. It fitted perfectly! The pants felt like a dream! The hoodie also came on perfectly! 'The hoodie-mic?' Kyle thought to himself. "Charlie tango. Bravo formation." 'YES! It works!' Kyle fist pumped to himself as he got out of the Jet. As soon as Max started to give orders, Kyle was taken aback by the sudden appearance of Max's 'Leader' mode. But it figured that being the second in command of a team would do that to you. "After you, boss-man." Kyle decided to hang back about three feet to take in the sights. Beautiful snow. Beautiful Sky. Beautiful-MY GOD THIS IS BORING! After about thirty minutes of walking around, It seemed too silent for the good natured slacker to be in. He had to ask a question!"So how's things between you and Ushio? Ahhh That felt good!"Max Chromium

30 minutes of silence, that's all Max had gotten while skating down the path with his buddy behind him until his friend who was the more talkative of the two finally asked a question to break the ice as it were. Max stayed silent for a moment as he thought of a response. Things had been going great for the loving couple lately although instead of the other half of his team being just room mates, they made the whole four person team thing feel like Max and Ushio were a married couple with two overgrown children. It took a moment but Max just sighed a happy sigh as he sped up a bit on his board. "Things are going alright. She and I merged rooms so that we had an extra room to use as a weapon workshop. Let me tell you, the four person team thing isn't as glamorous as it sounds. I feel like Ushio and I are already married and are raising two kids." Max couldn't help but laugh, that was until a loud high pitched screech rang through the air causing Max to instantly stop in his tracks and hold up his left fist as a silent way of saying to stop. He then zoomed in his new goggles and looked toward the sky while pulling out his pistols in the upside down position. It took a few minutes of searching but Max spotted a flock of three average sized Krahe just about 50 feet away to the east circuling something like Vultures. Once Max located all three, he jumped back to where Kyle was standing and pointed out towards them. "50 feet east from here, three Krahe of average size circling something. I can take one out with one clean shot from here but I'm gonna need to borrow your rifle for a second. Once they spot us we might have to fight close range. We will need higher ground."Max then quickly looked around them and noticed that they were surrounded by quite a few trees as well as rock formations which caused him to smile. "Once I take out the first one, take your rifle get to the highest point you can. I'll keep their attention off you so you can pick them off. Can your rifle make that kind of shot?"Max smiled and hopped back onto his board and used it to climb a tall but thin rock formation and waited for his friend to join him. It was time for target practice. Kyle Alodis

Kyle, now feeling better after talking, starts to creep up to Max's position. As he hunkers down, Max asked if his rifle could make the shot. "No, I call it a rifle because it sounds cool. Of course it can make the shot!" Kyle's voice went sarcastic as he answered his friends question. As he pulls out the sheathed Katana, he presses the button on the Scabbard. The sword's handle began to become a rifle handle. The blade and scabbard extends bit by bit to become a barrel. The entire thing looked like a old world rifle. A sniper sight then popped up and showed itself after everything was done. "Isn't she a beaut? Hand crafted to shoot over 200 feet. Can pierce a Grimm's armor through like a knife through butter. But be careful. She may have good range and power, but her noise and firing speed.....OOF."Drava: Rifle mode!He hands it off to Max, now feeling worried about the recoil. "Just tell me what to do when you need me to do something." Kyle says as he draws both talons out. Max Chromium

Max just grinned happily as Kyle transformed his katana and scabbard into a rifle with a small quip of his own. As Kyle passed it off, Max just twirled it in his hand for a minute before popping his neck. He then grabbed his skateboard and stabbed it vertically as if it was a wall and quickly stacked up a few large rocks to keep it stable and upright. Max then just grinned over at Kyle as his chrome colored aura flared to life and began to pulse around him so much that his eyes began to glow chrome. "Just be ready when I give the signal. Get to high ground and have your catching hand ready!"Max's hands then began to glow a bright chrome color which quickly engulfed kyle's weapon and slowly transformed it into a large and long barreled anti-tank rifle . Once the transformation was complete, Max just threw the gun over his shoulder with a smirk before sitting down against his grounded board. He then held up the gun and looked through the manual sight while using his magnefing goggles to track the bird. As he used the scope to lead the bird, he just licked his lips with a smile. "Boom headshot!"Max then pulled the trigger causing a massive bullet shell to leave the barrel as his aura protected him from the recoil. As the bullet soared through the air, it actually broke the sound barrier and as it connected with the lead birds neck, took it's head clean off causing the now headless body to all to the ground before dissolving. With his shot taken, Max's eyes returned to normal as did Kyle's weapon. Max then stood up and tossed the weapon up toward Kyle before quickly standing and grabbing his board. He then jumped up onto a large thick tree branch and pulled out his pistols. "I'll give you cover fire! Aim for the wings and try to ground them! Keep them seperated!"Max then pulled out his pistols and aimed them sideways and zoomed in on one of the birds and began to open fire on one of it's wings, more as a distraction then anything else. As Max transformed the once humble rifle into a anti-grimm rifle, his face held host to the widest smile he ever made. As it perched on Max's shoulder, Kyle could only say this one word: "Awesome."
Then it fired. The sound of the round.......no shell, ripping through the air and hitting the nevermore square in the head filled him with such joy that he actually forgot what they were doing right then as he screamed, "THAT WAS AWESOME!!" He then covered his mouth and started charging the other nevermore. Using the branches as a booster, Kyle leaped up onto the tops of the trees and got close to the other flying abomination. Kyle then heard Drava being thrown, though still being in it's rifle mode. He smirked and grabbed the rifle out of the air and aimed it at the beasts other wing, and fired three rounds into the monster, making it fall towards the ground! The Nevermore starts to spiral to the ground, screeching out for anything to happen to its two assailants. But before it could screech even louder, it sees a flash of silver metal, swinging at it's neck! The blade severs its connection from the mortal coil known as life, making it fade away in the middle of the sky. Kyle, now free-falling to the ground, is looking to land on anything soft and landable. As he looked around, he saw a pile of leaves and took a gamble that his Aura would at least try and protect him! "Okay. You can do this, you can do this, you can do this." Kyle repeated out loud as he went in to crash-land into the leaves. THUMP! There were not enough leaves piled up in that direction, unfortunately. "I'm okay."As Kyle sat there, he was able to count his blessings that his Aura actually protected him! "I must be being looked after from afar." Kyle said to himself as he dusted himself of leaves. (Aura damage: -8) He then waved his location to Max. Max Chromium
