Today seemed like a good to train her throwing arm a little after all, Lux wasn't the most accurate when it came to longer distances. Most times she'd make up for her less than par aiming with the aid of dust and power but that could only carry a huntress but so far. So taking a little time out of her academic studying to train seemed like the right thing to do when lacking in the area of combat. Starting off at the shooting range Lux was picking settings for her targets she thought starting at a lower level strafing wouldn't be too bad for her warm-ups. She was wrong in this assumption. As a spear of ice shot through the air whizzing freely till stabbing into the back wall of the range near eight other spears of ice, all the while the lone target she'd set up slowly slid to the left uninterrupted in its set path. "I cannot believe how rigged this is why is this thing going so fast I set it to the lowest motion settings without completely stopping it!!" The lavender haired lass screamed skyward as if someone were doing this to pointedly annoy her. Taking a breath she'd relax her shoulders and begin working on another creating another aura spear and then coating the shape in ice before siphoning the aura back into herself. "Alright, Lux you got this it's simple just gotta cock back, look at the target and throw. Easy right?" The girl rolled her shoulder back spear in one hand while the other helped to square up the target to try and assist her aim...
"DAMN IT ALL!!"

Jeremy meandered down to the target range for his daily practice, and while a little tuckered out from the long day of classes, he knew he had to get this done. It was a constant in his life, keeping his aura control sharp so that he didn't slip up with his semblance. Remembering what his semblance could do when he lost exacting control over it was all the refresher he needed to push his fatigue to the side and focus on the practice.
He almost went through the motions on autopilot, stuck in his own head as his hands worked with almost mechanical efficiency in setting up his target. He cast his thoughts to the tournament that he had participated in, the end result of which didn't concern him as much as the consequences of being seen in it. He wondered if now that he was, in a sense, out from under the thumb of his need for obfuscation, could he begin to trust others? Could he possibly start to make friends? The idea was foreign and almost jarring, he shook his head as he finished flipping the switch for the moving targets to start their patrol through the firing range. He generally had them moving at a moderate speed, more interested in practising his aura control than his targeting prowess. He rolled up his left sleeve and focused on his tattoos, the tawny yellow pattern of jagged interlocking curves lit up as a spear formed just above his hand. It looked like an intricate, flowing lance of interweaving glass rivers that still shone with the aura that permeated them. He took aim and threw the spear, missing wildly as he heard somebody shouting about their own luck with their targets. He took a step back to look at the source of the ranting (something about the targets going too fast?) to see a very... loudly dressed young woman. He could also see the targeting range dotted with ice like spears buried in the ground all around the lazily moving target. He watched as the girl produced another spear made of ice that made Jeremy's eye's widen, having only ever seen something like that from, well, himself.
Another tattoo user? He wondered briefly as she threw her spear, and it landing an embarrassingly far stretch from the target. He winced as she shouted into the air again. He stepped out of his own firing booth and started walking over to where the girl was standing. He stopped about a meter away. Um, did you want some advice? He asked, hoping not to sound intrusive or condescending.

"Um, did you want some advice?"
Having forgotten that this was a public area for a moment Lux jumped slightly at the sound of someone else's voice. It took her a moment to remember that other people might be using the same training facility as herself. "Uhh... hey yeah probably could use some help seeing as I've been here about ten minutes and already yelled at a cardboard target heh." Lux said cautiously lowering her tone as she turned to face the person who'd offer her help. The boy was much shorter than her in height and almost seemed skinnier as well but his shoulders added to his build to make his frame slightly wider than her own. Lux also took note in the boy's horns finding them to be rather adorable but she'd refrain from saying so aloud as she really did need help of some kind and he did offer. "Oh yeah I'm Lux, by the way, feel free to call me that one girl who can't chuck a spear to save a life if you must." The lavender haired girl said jokingly with a smile before stepping back and allowing her new tutor her spot in the range so she could watch and attempt to emulate someone with at least better aim than her own.

She seemed a little startled, but didn't take his offer for help badly, which is all he could hope for. Jeremy definitely got a very... energetic first impression from her as she introduced herself, and the young bull faunus could feel his anxiety about speaking to somebody start to well up again. He knew he needed to get used to actually socializing, but it was by far his weakest skill, and the fact he was conversing with somebody so pretty didn't help him at all.
L-Lux it i-is then. He managed to stammer out, embarrassment colouring his cheeks a light pink. I'm Jeremy Aatxe, a p-pleasure to m-meet you. He said, trying as much as he could to stifle his stuttering. With a slight sigh at his own ineptitude, he moved over to the controls for the range and stopped the target from moving before taking up the firing position. You want to start off with a stationary target so you can get the gist of where you're aim naturally falls. For me, I always throw a little up and to the left, so I have to adjust where I'm aiming to hit the target. He said, finding it a little easier to talk while he was explaining the basic principles of aiming. It was like this didn't really count as talking to somebody, it was just like reciting a text book or something. He put aura through his glass tattoo and formed another lance like the one he had made just moments ago, interlocking streams of tawny yellow crystal taking form in his hand. So if I don't adjust my aim, and look directly at the centre of the target, my throw puts my spear in the upper left hand corner. He said, throwing the glass, the construct spiralling across the range and coming to an abrupt end in the upper left hand corner of the target.
Your, uh, your form didn't look too bad, so, uh, how about you just try and see w-where your a-aim falls? He suggested, taking a step back to let her get back to the starting position.

As the boy introduced himself he seemed to develop a stutter as he spoke to her, which was cute all on its own but at this point, she couldn't help but crack a smile. Lux let the bull faunas demonstrate how to properly aim and latched onto it fairly well. Grasping the concept of training on her target wasn't hard but it seemed to be difficult for her to perform in practice. However, with a little bit more effort she might be able to actually hit a stock still target. "Alright then here goes nothing..." With that stated, she took up her throwing stance aimed at the still target and took a breath before adding. "By the way, if this doesn't work I will blame you for all of my failures," Lux said jokingly as she cracked a smile and returned her focus towards the target.
Prepping the spear was quick and took only about five seconds as her aura shaped the spear then had it filled in with the ice dust from her bracelet. Once that process was complete she took another breath, focused on the target, and chucked the spear. The flying spear seemed to drop down considerably fast but ended up in the lower right corner of the target what would be a thigh for the most part. "Hey, I hit it! Sweet!" Lux said elated that she hit the target for the first time today. "Got any more tips for me Jeremy?" The lavender haired girl asked while draping an arm around his shoulder and flashing of a newly refreshed smile.

He looked over her form when she set herself back up in the firing range, how she was holding herself and noted a couple of spots that could use some work. Her over-all stance was fine, but she clearly didn't do this often as she shifted her weight at odd times and Jeremy had already noticed her follow-through was poor. Both were things that came with practice, and the main thing that came to Jeremy's mind was the simple fact that he was currently starring at a very attractive young woman for what could be interpreted as an unseemly long amount of time. He immediately stood up very straight when she mentioned blaming him for her short comings, and looked around the firing range, desperate for literally anything else to look at, and was very happy when Lux created her spear, which he seemed to follow with great interest. Jeremy watched intently as Lux formed her weapon anew, curious to see if his initial guess was correct and he had finally found another student who used dust tattoos. He was a little disappointed to see that what his new found friend did was decidedly not related to the dust ink he wore in his skin, but that a spear seemed to form first out of raw aura before becoming coated in ice. He had never seen anything quite like it, which probably meant it was her semblance, but that train of thought was briefly derailed as he watched her set up to throw.
The icy projectile flew through the air and dropped rather quickly, but managed to hit its target with a decided thunk. He thought at first to comment on her power, putting a little more force behind her throw, but thought that perhaps it would be better to just work on finesse for now. Adding strength was something to do when the basics of aiming were already conquered. He was happy to see that she was so pleased with her success, he very rarely celebrated... well, anything, so it was very refreshing to see somebody revelling in a job well done.
Okay, s-so now- he was about to talk about his next tip when she inquired and wrapped her arm around his shoulder. He stopped dead and his face lit up in a vibrant red as his brain systematically shut down from what he considered an unbelievable event. He quickly ducked under her arm and took a step back, sputtering the entire time. I-I-I-I a-am so-sorry, I-I j-just uh, uh, I-I'm n-n-not used t-to t-t-talking t-t-to gir- uh, p-people. He managed to stammer out, contemplating the logistics of activating his fire dust tattoo and completely rendering himself to ash.
