Agony, that's what Max felt as he woke up inside of his hospital room. As he woke, it took the young hunter a moment to remember how he had gotten here and why he was here. As he tried to sit up he felt a sharp pain in both his throat and his left arm which made him want to scream. It was this pain that caused him to remember what had happened to him. He had been badly injured in his fight during the first round of the tournament. He had pushed his body to it's limits and now he was suffering for it and he didn't have a win to show for it! As Max tried to sit all the way up, a sharp pain shot through his left shoulder causing him to clench it with his right hand squeezing the bandages. "Damn it! Who was that guy! I hit him point blank with my cannons! How could anyone just take that and keep coming!"Max just grunted and slammed his back up against his bed and rested his head on his pillow. He had been changed into a pair of sweat pants and a plain white t-shirt while his other clothes,his ammo bag and his pistols had been stashed across the room in a clear bag. The room was rather sparse except for a large window with a sitable windowsill, the medical equipment and a tv hooked to the wall with the remote sat on a tray next to the bed. In his frustration, Max reached over and grabbed the remove and turned on the T.V. and was greeted by the final results for the first round which just confirmed that he indeed had lost in front of all of his friends and his parents but also all of the kingdoms who had been watching the broadcast causing Max to growl in frustration as he just threw the hard remote right through the hologram image. "Damn it all..I trained so hard! I was supposed to show everyone that I was the strongest of all the newcomers! I was gonna win it all in the name of my team."Max just clenched his hands on his bed sheets. He then looked at his reflection in the window showing that his entire left shoulder as well as his neck was bandaged up, his left arm was in a sling and that his right arm had an IV drip hooked up in order to give him pain medicine. According to the medical chart hanging across the room his shoulder had been broken due to the force it had sustained since his aura had given out and so he would be out of commissionfor awhile. "I think you were far too reckless. You tried to show off and got your ass kicked for it," Shin's voice called from the door as he walked in, followed by his sister, Hana. "And here I thought that was my job." He and Hana had been sitting near the exit at the stadium during the match, so they were the first to leave after Max was rushed out on a stretcher. "The others should be on their way, and we would've been here sooner, but Hana wanted to stop on the way here to get you something," he said with a smile as his little sister stepped forward, hands behind her back. "Here," she said, presenting a teddy bear and offering it to him. Max Chromium |

[attr="class","smdbody3"][attr="class","sinbody"] Sage was in the stands, watching the fight between Max and a blonde haired young man. It was a hellish fight, and Sage was surprised to see people fight on that kind of caliber. It was just like watching the fight between Lily and Raven -- scary. Much like she feared, Max fell in his battle, coming to defeat in a brutal way and he was hauled off on a stretcher, being taken to an infirmary immediately. Concern welled up in her eyes for her friend as she moved to meet him at the hospital, the crowd in the stands being an obstacle and causing her to fall late in time. The green haired woman raced to the hospital, her feet carrying her as quick as they could across the distance and into the doors of the building. 'pant...pant...pant...' "Where can I find Max Chromium?" she asked in between her short breaths. "Room 43 but he is resti- hey!" ignoring the woman she dashed down the hall, running so fast that she almost passed it, having to backtrack two steps before she entered the room. Her eyes instantly went to the amount of bandages and the iv that they had in him. "Oh no!" Her voice was soft, filled with emotion as she stepped forward, her hands pressed to her lips, walking past Shin who stood near by. Sage pulled off her coat and gloves before sitting on the edge of the bed, her eyebrows furrowed in a tight expression. "You idiot! Why would you push yourself so hard.... and for something so trivial and childish as a tournament... What use is a trophy if you are dead!!" she snapped, showing concern for her friend and she took his hand in her's. "Max..." she mumbled while shaking her head, tears welling up in her eyes, "You were brave.."Sage sniffed, reaching for her coat and into her pocket to pull out a small bag of homemade chocolate that she had done for him before the tournament in hopes of giving it to him in his victory. "I am still proud of you." the woman commented before placing the bag into his hand. | |

Shock, that's all Ushio felt as she watched Max loose his match, she was so sure that he'd win. But the fact her boyfriends shoulder was now broken had kind of put more stain on her mind than anything else, she felt that she should have been down there. The one to loose or win, she didn't hold it against max's opponent though. However she felt her heart sink as she walked into the hospital, a basket of fresh baked Dark Chocolate cookies with macadamia and white choc chunks in her hands, the green dress she wore was her usual casual dress. The cookies scent filled the area she was wandering, she had gotten Max's room number and made her way there slowly, she hate hospitals. The memories of seeing her sick mother filled her head, the fear at the door, walking in and seeing a loved one worse for wear. She saw her mother set up with tubes pumping water into her body because she was too weak to move, the time she visited and her mother had been put in a coma...Ushio just froze at the door. What if Max was a lot worse than what she thought? What if he was dying now? she couldn't take it but she couldn't just stand at the door, she slowly stepped in everyone in the room had been grayed out in her mind, all of them an obstacle to get to Max. She slowly walked to Max's side and just dropped the cookies on the nearest table and slid onto the bed with Max, most likely sitting right next to Sage but she was too busy focusing on Max.
Staying silent she just hugged him and didn't let go, she made sure not to hurt him further but as she held Max she whispered to him.
"I was so scared that you would have been more hurt..."
She then reached for a cookie and held it to his mouth for him, hoping maybe her cooking would somehow be a miracle cure, she knew it wouldn't but that bit of hope made her feel a bit better at least.

Max just couldn't believe it! Despite the fact that he had lost his fight, his friends still were coming to see him. The first of which was his team mate and room mate Shin and who seemed to be his little sister. Max listened silently to Shin's words and even though it hurt his pride to do so he had to admit that his team mate was right. He had gotten carried away in wanting to show people how strong he was and because of that he lost his focus as well as the match. As proof that he had heard his friends words, he turned his head to face him and just nodded. When the young girl stepped up and presented the stuffed teddy bear, Max couldn't help but smile as he took it from her and sitting it down on his right side. He then reached out slowly with his good arm and patted her head. "Thank you for the gift Hana. I will name him xuai, I'm sure he will help me get all better super fast!"Max then smiled at the young girl up until another visitor barged into the room. This time in was the young,pretty and quite Sage. Before Max could greet her however, she sat down next to him on the bed and began to yell at him for over doing it over something as stupid as a tournament. As he went to respond to her he felt his hand be taken into hers causing him to blush bright red. She then called him brave and then presented him with something super awesome! She had made him home made chocolate! When she said that she was proud of him he couldn't help but blush again as he took the chocolate and sat it next to the bear. He then reached out with his good hand and put it on her shoulder and gave her a warm smile. "Thanks for the chocolate! I know I overdid it. I just wanted to make you guys proud because you put so much faith in me. I wanted to live up to your expectations."As Max gave Sage's shoulder a squeeze, Ushio entered the room causing Max to quickly yank his hand away and get a face of pure fear as he was afraid of what Ushio would say to him for getting hurt. As she sat down he just opened his mouth to speak until the girl he loved just hugged him. As her arms went around him, Max couldn't help but bury his face in her shoulder. "I'm sorry I made you worry Ushi. I'll be more careful next time so you don't have to come back to this horrible place because of me. I love you."When she reached down into her basket of cookies, Max's favorite cookies at that and held one to his lips he looked around at his friends and blushed hard. He was embarssed because he was being fawned over in front of his friends and treated like a child but he knew that Ushi was just worried and so he just took the entire cookie into his mouth in one bite and chewed it. Once he swallowed, he kissed Ushio's fingers. "I am starting to feel all better already!"The young hunter then smiled and looked between his three friends and sighed. "I guess some introductions are in order huh? Ushi sweetie, the woman your sitting next to is Sage. She's a senior and she and I met when I was looking for winter clothes and she was looking for a dress for the ball. Sage, this is Ushio my partner and girl friend and our team mate and room mate Shin and his little sister Hana. When Sage entered the room, Shin acknowledged her with a nod of greeting, but he didn't even get a chance to greet Ushio before she sat down and hugged Max, looking like she was about to cry, or at least he thought she did. Hana greeted Sage with the respect an underclassman should show to a senior, even going as far as doing a slight bow, yet another hint to their Eastern heritage. Of course, Shin found it odd that Max thought to introduce Sage to him once again, so Shin jokingly asked if Max hit his head during the fight before reminding him that he and Sage had already met and been introduced by Max a few days prior.
