With the excitement over the upcoming Vytal Festival Tournament, it was natural to see Students and even Faculty taking it easy. Between laughter filled games, and canceled classes, Sage found it hard to concentrate on her own studies, which the Fourth Year depended on the day to day distractions that being a student offered her-- Because nothing was more focus stealing than keeping up her already perfect grades!
Yet however, ever since her run in with a particular freshman, Sage has nothing more than a muddled mess; unable to concentrate on any task in front of her and finding her mind wandering back to that moment in time. His words seemed to disturb her to a great extent and she could not find a way to quell the ideology that he placed on her.
"You may not believe it yourself yet, but you do have a great power within you Sage. Being a hunter isn't all about slashing, punching or shooting monsters. You have your own kind of strength. If we were to face off in a fight, I would have to keep away from you. I am a long distance fighter for a reason. I specialize in aura control, speed and range but I am severely lacking in physical strength and unarmed defense. You are stronger than you know... both as a huntress and as a person." In truth he was inspiring to Sage, so why did she contemplate the sincerity behind them?
This was her senior year here at Vytal, and she felt like she had amounted up to nothing in that time, nothing more than a student without any guidance to the struggles ahead. Did she really want to dive head first into the world, taking on monsters and criminal organizations as a Huntress? Was there any other choice? Would she be nothing more than a memory like her brother?
With a sigh of exasperation, the young woman stood up from her desk, raising her arms up high and stretching her stiff muscles. Their aching pain giving her a grim reminder that she should exercise more than just her brain, and perhaps some amount of training would help push back the doubts that plagued her.
'Oh yeah...the training fields..'It was not uncommon for students to get into scuffles... the training grounds provided was useful in setting the stage for these set up fights. However this past one, shook the entirety of the school; the amount of passion displayed by the two students even shocked her, as she stood on the sidelines watching the scene unfold.
But with that in mind, she remembered that the training grounds were a complete DISASTER... still being repaired after an entire week. There was little that was spared in the aftermath and it actually took a faculty member stepping in to stop the destructive force of Raven and Lily.
Professor Thorn. Her mind enveloped back to their recent class, and the white lettering across the chalkboard.
"Perhaps." Slipping on her shoes, and pulling on her overcoat, Sage left the housing and into the mildly warm afternoon air to head immediately into the Vytal Hall. It was not a long walk, but every step of the way she grew more and more determined to get to the bottom of the problem she faced.
Traversing the labyrinth like hallways, the young and petite girl stood front of a large wooden door, a handwritten caution sign tapes to the outer exterior and staring her blankly in the face. Sage hesitated for a moment, trying to discern the need for the sign before letting her hand rap across the door, alerting anyone inside. She turned the office door handle and looked inside,
"Professor Thorn?" she asked quietly while looking around, realizing the much needed warning that was given to her before entering. This place was a mess...
'eh...'"I'm sorry to disrupt you sir, but I came hoping to seek your um... assistance with a matter." she voiced in her normal nervous manner. She slipped off her jacket, folding it into her arms before exhaling softly,
"To be honest I am not sure what exactly it is that I need help with sir, I feel something is off... like I have no direction. I understand that my skills in physical combat are lacking," she said before scratching the back of her head..,
"But I want to show everyone that I have what it takes in the end."Flashing her amber colored eyes she furrowed her brows in expression of her determination,
"Sir, I want to grow stronger, not just physically, but in here as well," she remarked, resting her delicate hand over her chest,
"I have the will to inspire others.. much like everyone has for me." Dropping her gaze, Sage relaxed, waiting patiently for the professors reply as she bit on her bottom lip in her normal mannerism.
