The Faunus stared blankly at the young man as he fell into a frenzied rant about her prickly teammate. Azure never said a word. She didn’t dare to, in fear of interrupting the pure comedic ecstasy that was occurring around her. Ever since she was a child she loved getting a rise out of people, and that joy she felt from unwarranted anger never faded with age. She was a bit of a sadist in that regard, but it was all in good harmless fun.
After he raised his weapon the final time, she nearly lost it. Turning her face away from the angry teen to mug at Guin with wide eyes and an even wider smile. It took every ounce of effort she could muster to contain her laughter until he exited the building, after which she finally broke down in a boisterous cackle. “Daaaamn, Freshmen these days have no chill! The hell did you do to that poor kid?” She jeered, trying her hardest (and failing) to keep her voice down.
“Yeah! Maybe-- maybe you two should hug and make up?” she beamed again.

Guinevere, still mildly cackling to herself, motioned down at her books. “The usual Grimm stuff. Got two hours with these and he decided to just saunter on over here and act like he knew me and the horrors of being alone.” For the last part, she placed her hands on her chest and acted as though she were being overly dramatic in a play critique. She reached down and picked up her pen. The laughing had made her lose her place, though luckily all her books were still open to the same pages. She could trace the thread through her notes some and figure out where she had been.
After a couple brief moments of silence and skimming, her eye moved into autopilot, and she started in on the reading where she had left off. “Then after he suggests we ‘hang out’ later and I put him down like I normally do. That’s when he pulled out the guns.” She started scribbling back onto her notes – it was like her mind was running in three different directions at once. Azure would be used to talking to her like this by now, but it did probably seem a little creepy to anyone who might be watching. “Not that he had much to show for his guns.” She sniggered, poking fun at the lithe guy.

Azure reached for the chair that the boy had left behind. Nodding along as her teammate spoke, she quickly spun the seat in front of her body and plopped her weight down with it’s back facing the table. “Y’know, this is exactly how the rumors start.” The Faunus jeered as she rested her chin atop her arms. “Poor kid was probably just too awkward to express himself, and couldn’t handle getting shot down” Azure let out a slight sigh as she leaned backwards in her seat, gazing at the door he had just exited out of. “...Well, either that or he’s a complete sociopath, but I’d like to think that this school has some kind of student screening process.”
Azure exhaled a light chuckle as she paused for a brief moment to watch the Huntress work. It was always quite remarkable that the girl could manage splitting her attention like she so often did. It was honestly a trait that Azure was silently envious of, as the songstress had enough issues memorizing lyrics while playing an instrument.
The bat’s ears then perked up to her partner’s joking comment. As an idea entered her mind, the woman’s lips immediately spread into another toothy grin before speaking again. “Who knows, he might have even been crushin’ on you?” She teased as she rocked her seat back forward. “I mean, it sounds like you were checkin' him out. Maybe I should try setting you two up?” Azure teased, sealing the deal with an eyebrow wiggle.

exacerbated Guinevere rolled her eyes and let out an annoyed sigh. If this was how the rumors started, then she didn’t know what the whole fighting with Grimm went for them. She was pretty sure it was the other way around; Fighting with Grimm started them, and thing like this just exacerbated the whole issue. If that was how it happened though, oh well. “So far as that selection process goes, I think the motto is basically ‘the more broken, the better.’ Get people with a reason to fight, you know?” She had thus far met a freshman who was added in the last quarter of the school year, and another freshman who seemed to have the cognitive dissonance of someone in an existential crisis.
She finished up the citations from one of the books and flipped it closed. The cover had a nice etching of a Krahe on the cover, wings outstretched like the monster was some piece of art. In a sense, Guinevere would admit, it was. Then Azure’s second comment came through. She sat down her pen and closed her eyes a moment while her mouth shifted into a bit of a scowl. Eyes opening (though only one was really visible), Guinevere was now in her characteristic glare that made most students kind of jump away if she made eye contact. “If an individual of his paltry cognitive function, unscrupulous behavior, or lackluster front proposed such interest, I would repudiate myself from his advances post haste.”
She turned her attentions back to her books and picked up her pen again. “Besides, though you are always the one to party, you don’t seem to have any luck with the lads either.” There was an impossible to hide smirk of mirth on her lips, though she didn’t break attention from her book this time to bake the sharp glance she so wished she could at the moment.
