★ APPEARANCE
There are some things a woman can never quite get away from, and somewhere close to the top among-st them is their body. Regardless of form, shape, or size, women over the centuries have obsessed over their physical form, going to great (and often times insane) lengths to improve their looks just that tiny bit more, hoping beyond hope that this time it will be enough, that this one final alteration will somehow make them feel as beautiful as people say they are. This frenzied desire for beauty is something Sage has done her best to avoid and, ironically, the very disinterest with what others think of her is what grants the woman the appeal so many of her sex wish to attain; that of being comfortable in one’s own skin, no matter what anyone else says or thinks.
It is this comfort-ability with herself that defines all of the huntress's actions; whether walking down the street, dancing in her room, or beating down a man with her bare hands, the woman always appears as if she is in control of herself, leading many to think that she has control of the world around her as well.
Though more than capable of expressing herself verbally should the need arise, much of what people notice about the sorceress comes from visual cues; the way she sits, the forceful (yet never forced) grace and fluidity of her stride, the ever present sense that, no matter where you are or what you are doing, she can see you, even through the back of her head.
Always looking towards the present, her gaze is often set less on the distant horizon than it is on what’s right in front of her; the people, the things, the sights, sounds, smells of her environment all filter into the woman’s mind, each sense painting a part of a larger picture than anyone could ever hope to make alone. Often mistaken for someone of high status or acclaim, the girl’s attitude almost never reflects her misconstrued social standing, as an open, inviting smile is her default expression, though only the most observant of people will notice that this smile is rarely reflected in her eyes.
One of the key aspects of her behavior is the distance she keeps between herself and others- even when in a crowd of bustling tourists, the woman still manages to keep everyone at least an arm’s length away, engaging those around her without ever letting them draw close. This distance is mirrored in both her speech and facial expressions, as those who attempt to draw closer without her approval are met with disapproval and scorn; or worse, anger and rejection.
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: The first thing one might notice about Sage is that she is rather small- pocket sized, as one might be inclined to say at a grand height of four feet, ten inches tall when barefoot, and can get herself up to nearly five feet tall if she wears proper shoes. Her weight has remained fairly steady at one hundred and five pounds, a number that gives her a healthy layer of “padding” to her otherwise small frame. Though she despairs about the “excess” that never quite leaves about her middle and the thighs-- mostly unnoticeable unless she's stripped naked against her will, or otherwise caught in the buff-- Sage reluctantly acknowledges that she still has what some would consider quite the attractive silhouette; curvy without being unhealthily so. In spite of being much at a loss to appropriately describe the exact shape of her body (narrow hips with an ample amount of padding to the rear, thicker thighs on her longer than average legs and a shorter, narrower torso complete with an ample bust and shoulder width), Sage figures she's somewhere between the “cello” and the “pear” in terms of overall figure and is even more self conscious about her body than before.
HAIR & EYES: Now three years after her entrance into Vytal Academy, Sage's hair falls a little over halfway down her thighs in light cerulean, slightly wavy- though messy -, layers and is parted down the center, leaving an “n” shaped expanse of her forehead exposed with a relatively even fringe covering the rest and tapering to a few finger lengths past her chin at their longest points. It is most often worn tied up and out of her way in anything from a wrapped ponytail, to a braided bun, or in a thick, tight braid to maintain some semblance of control.
Her eyes, though on the larger side with long dark lashes, are a bright Hazel almost Gold in color and are defined as very pretty; with a standard, almond shape that came naturally to someone of her human heritage. Though their shape has not changed, the wary expression constantly present is almost as alarming.
Matching her natural hair color, Sage's eyelashes and arched eyebrows are a dark forest green, however due to the modern age and the magical uses of makeup, she is able to keep them a dark black that accent the highlights in her glimmering crystal sun like orbs.
SCARS: Nearly flawless skin, Sage's face is a canvas covered in speckled sun spots. Her freckles just barely visible against the pale surface. The woman has few scars; some gathered in her time practicing combat, and another as a grim reminder of her past. The only detailed and highly visible scar she has resides underneath her right breast, protruding from rib-cage. The glossy lighter pink color marking it as a clean slice from a blade rather than a jagged tear of flesh.
ATTIRE: Sage is a conservative dresser; preferring dresses and skirts whose hem falls to her knees or below, long sleeved and loose fitting blouses, sweaters, and coats to help her conceal her figure. She is almost never seen in pants, and quite definitely does not seem to own a single pair of shorts that anyone knows about. Color wise, her wardrobe consists of reddish tones like scarlet, maroon, browns from a light to a dark mahogany, and black.
At present, she has taken to hiding in long sleeved, high collared clothing with a scarf wrapped around her neck to hide her gaze from those that like to stare too long. Short skirts accompany the long sleeved clothing as well as darkly colored tights or leggings for much the same reason regardless of the weather. But during the warm months of the Remnant year, she runs around barefoot, preferring the feeling of the earth at her toes rather than the bottom soles of shoes.
VOICE DESCRIPTION: Her voice is fair, flirtatious, and could be described in a sense, very feminine. It lacks depth, but is not high pitched like most young females. Sage always maintains a sense of dignified formality even among those she is comfortable around and never uses conjunctions or any other form of slang terminology. Her inflection and pronunciation of words are perfect, if a bit enunciated due to her strict upbringing. In terms of pitch, she is undeniably female, as it holds a soft and, melodic quality to her voice whenever she chooses to speak in her normally gentle tone.
Sage is an emotionally strong individual and more than often her emotions are conveyed through her voice. With that being said, her voice has a wide range of volume and pitch that will change with her mood. Most of the time her voice is soft (even when she is singing) unless she is emotionally compromised or expressing clear irritation, at that time her tone will not only change pitch, but her speech becomes mulled over in a mumble.
Sage’s tone can range from that of an amused acquaintance to one of a jilted lover at a moment’s notice; though quiet when not aroused, her voice can take on a surprising enthusiasm when a topic peaks her interest, particularly when it has to do with magic or the magical world. Because of her innate distrust of authority, the woman’s temperament and speech rarely changes, regardless of where, when, or who she is speaking with.
★ PERSONALITY
★ HISTORY
In the World of Remnant, it is not uncommon for Hunters and Huntresses to be born of already existing bloodlines of powerful, weapon wielding heathens that serve society by combating monsters and Darkness. It is also not uncommon to lose family members to the ruthless sentients known as the creatures of Grimm, and like all those common families, Sage LiGreci too had to go through that trauma. However unlike most, she didn't lose her parents -- no they are very much so alive, as common townsfolk that do nothing but merely run a bakery, selling cupcakes and sweet things as her older brother, Kaige, risked his life protecting them.
To Sage, her older brother was a hero. He was 8 years older, and had a very close relationship with his younger sister, teaching her everything he learned, promoting her artistic qualities and even giving her the Gauntlets he grew up using.
So his death hit her hard.
He was on a mission for Vytal, in his senior year of the Academy, and like most to be grads, they participated in Missions with accomplished Hunters and Huntresses. More than most groups come back, only taking on simple missions. Her Brother's team did not. The details of the mission were vague, and they didn't even find the bodies, but proclaimed him dead none the less due to a static-y transmission into the Vytal HQ.
She was merely 11 years old when he died, and already had high hopes of following in his footsteps as a Hunter, even showing remarkable progress in fighting. So when Kaige had fallen, her parents refused to let her train anymore, and denied her access to Hunter's School. They refused to let her follow him into a tragic ending, and this formed Sage's distaste for her cowardly parents. Not only did they prevent her from her dreams of being a Huntress, they locked her away in their house, became over protective and PUSHED her to work on her musical talents. She only withstood a few more years of their antics, and at 16 she took the entrance exam into Vytal Academy.
Needless to say she was accepted, and spent her first year as a freshman playing catch up. She had to relearn how to handle her weapons, which she still kept from her brother, as well as activate and use her Aura properly. When it came to the book stuff she excelled however, and that provided her the needed boost to pass her classes as well as do decently in the field.
During the off months, Sage stayed with her Uncle, who too was a Huntsman, and during those hard and grueling months she pushed herself harder, finally coming into her own and being ready to face off against the world. Her sophomore and junior year went relatively the same. She learned new abilities, upgraded her weapons, and even was recognized as a Grade A Huntress in training.
However... On her last night at the Academy before her Semester Break, Sage received a letter. An Old Fashioned Letter rather than a message on her scroll. It wasn't addressed, and didn't even have her name on it, but upon opening it, her stomach dropped. It was HIS handwriting, Kaige's.
Her amber eyes could not read over the paper fast enough as she came to the realization.
He was alive after all.

★ PERSONALITY
BENEATH THE SURFACE... - COMPASSIONATE "Shhh, it will be okay, somehow. Hold on, okay?” With sensitivity comes compassion; and Compassion may as well be Sage’s middle name. If someone needs a shoulder to lean on in time of need? She’s right there. Someone to help them stand strong? Not an issue, she’s got their back. Bad day and needing a bit of home cooking to cheer up? Sage’s already on it and will be there shortly. Be it offering money, helping rebuild with her blood, sweat, and tears-- of which there are many— or devoting time to aiding others in need as a form of penance, Sage's naturally generous and open hearted spirit has remained relatively unchanged in spite of her experiences. Her words and actions for those less fortunate to those in distress of any sort reflect upon a natural inclination and urge to help, to “heal” and otherwise alleviate the malaise in others. If something can be done, she will make sure she does it as quickly and efficiently as possible. - HONEST “I never learned how to lie to people and I do not wish to start now.” Deception is something that Sage could never pull off very well, and it's gotten even worse over time. In a world where hiding is the only way to survive and gain the upper hand on others, she remains roughly the same honest individual she's always been. She admits a little too freely that she doesn't know something or someone, and will only answer honestly even if she knows it'll hurt her in the long run. By being forthright, she believes she can be trusted and thus won't be suspected of hiding an agenda that she really doesn't have up her proverbial sleeve. Be it in matters of life or death, or even in something as mundane as an every day "have you seen x/y/z?", she will not fail to give a truthful, if gently delivered, response to best suit the situation at hand-- and hopefully spare someone the pain of hurt feelings. - DEVOTED “All I have ever wanted was to stay together.” Through thick or thin, better or worse and death-til-we-part, Sage's loyalty is first and foremost with those she is attached to... regardless of if they feel the same way. A friend who has only been around for a week is treated with the same dedicated care and concern as someone she's known for years on end. There is almost no limit to what she will tolerate or endure for the friends and family she loves so dearly, and what few times she has actually severed people out of her lives wound up devastating her, causing her to treasure those she holds dear all the more. Though her feelings remain much the same, she has had to learn how to keep herself distant from them for their own good... as detrimental an effect as it may be on those she loves-- not to mention herself.- PLAYFUL “You don't have to give up fun to be an adult, you know.” Though her overall energy and demeanor is quite depressed and serious as of late, Sage rather enjoys the more light hearted and childish things in life- such as going to a park and playing like she were half her age all over again. Anything from climbing a tree- especially when she knows she’s not supposed to- to having a snowball fight in winter or splashing someone in the summertime, she enjoys harmless little tricks and pranks to make people smile and forget about their troubles for a few minutes. All in all, Sage appreciates and enjoys the littler things in life that people tend to forget about once they’ve “grown up”... though she has had precious little to call 'fun' or celebrate as of late. | ...LIES A PERFECT STORM - EMOTIONALLY VOLATILE “I know. I-- would you just shut up already?!” Never one to master the art of concealing one's feelings and thoughts on her face, despite the many, many attempts made by a very strict upbringing, Sage feels things intensely and displays them just as much so. If she's happy, she's smiling and laughing with everything she has in her-- and can sometimes cry because of it. If she's sad, she cries openly (though not without shame or embarrassment and many, many apologies.) If she's angry, it shows in all the ways one could think of.Her ability to maintain a relative semblance of control over her emotions, particularly in regards to anger, has been drastically reduced as the result of the series of unfortunate events unfolding in the past year. As a result, her moods can swing quite wildly from light melancholy to rage when provoked or otherwise cornered by those around her. - CONFLICTED “I don't know what to do...” Never one for having an ego, nor any real sense of self-confidence, events of the last couple years have left Sage's sense of self-worth at an all time low. She questions herself, her actions, her feelings, everything more often than ever and holds herself in an even worse regard than she truly should in many ways. She puts up as much of a front as possible, but those who grow to know her, or spend longer than an hour or two in her company can almost immediately tell right off the bat that she's trying to disguise/hide/compensate for her major flaws in several ways. Unable to think clearly or to dismiss her emotions from making a logical decision in the heat of the moment, Sage is more than prone to frantically flip-flopping between options and going back and forth until someone either makes one for her-- or takes all options away but one. - PESSIMISTIC “It's not okay. It's not okay and it's never going to be okay, what part of that don't you understand?” A lifetime of being criticized, cut down, ground beneath the weight of others' opinions of her, and in the last two year's worth of unfortunate events, Sage's once sunny and optimistic demeanor has soured, turned negative and dark. She no longer believes that there's anything worth saving in regards to her own existence, and struggles to find the reason she should remain alive at all. The betrayal and rejection of those close to her left a bigger scar than she initially anticipated-- and now she finds herself intentionally looking for a way to stay away from people for good. - STUBBORN “I said no; what part of that was difficult for you to comprehend?” Once Sage’s mind is made up- that’s it, that’s all there is to it. While she never used to be one to shout or get into loud, verbal arguments, the events of the last couple years have done much to alter her manner of dealing with others-- and she has lost a good deal of her near legendary patience and ability to wait others out. Thankfully, or perhaps unfortunately, she is most often the quiet sort of stubborn; the kind that can lead to her waiting an argument out, and then going to do the very thing she’d been told she can’t/isn’t supposed to/shouldn’t. |

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPONS - WITHER & FANG
DESCRIPTION:
- Wither and Fang are a pair of specially altered Gauntlets that Sage had acquired from her older brother; who was so nice to have them created specifically just for her in hopes that she would become a strong Huntress despite their parents. Each fit over her forearm and attach comfortably to a sturdy mesh glove that hugs her skin tightly. The strong construction of the gauntlet is a most important feature, specifically for the amount of pressure that they are put under during combat.
Atop the center brace lies two chambers, one housing vials of electric element dust and the other acts as a sheath to the linking blades of her weapon. These two variables are the most important factors to her fighting style.
MECHANICS:
-There are 3 significant patterns to how the weapon works in the hands of Miss LiGreci; Swords, A Whip, and a Fired Projectile. Each of these styles is possible using the electric/lightning style dust that is stored within each of her gauntlets. A trigger mechanism is attached within the glove, allowing Sage to choose which style to use at which time, which starts the process for each manipulation.
Within one of the housing chambers of her weapons, are a stack of 6 blades, that are close to 6 inches in length each. These blades can act as interlocking components when extended, forming a sword that she can use to attack with. The blades are brought together and held strong using the electric dust which reacts with the special metallic elements of the blades and simply makes them magnetic with one another.
Applying this same mechanic to the rest of the styles, Sage can combine up to 12 blades to form a lucid whip, the magnetism of her blades working in unison to allow the strength of the weapon to show through. Finally, with reversing the polarity, she can fire the blades as projectiles, extending up to 45 meters in distance.
MISC.
- Sage carries minimal on her body at all times, nothing more than 8 vials of extra lightning element dust, and up to 12 stacks of extra blades for her gauntlets ( which are carried in a sturdy leather box at the back of her waist.
AURA
Calm, Peace, and Serenity are a few of many feelings that Sage's Aura brings to the field; A feeling of complete control in the chaos of a battle and in short a means of focus if some may need. Illuminating a soft forest green color, Sage's Aura is an extension of her own self, a representative of her life force and abilities as a huntress. Subtle smells of honeysuckle and lavender fill the noises of all around her in conjunction with the tangent petals and leaves that appear to circle the young woman in unison to a hidden song that only she can hear.
Defensive Enhancement :: 2-5 AP
- It's only natural that the first thing a huntress in training learns is how to defend themselves. The first Aura Manipulation that Sage learned to control was a defensive enhancement; the expulsion of one's aura to form a barrier in necessity to protect her vitality. Sage can use this ability to stop projectiles, incoming barrages and if pushed to the limits expend her barrier outwards from her body to push away opponents. Though if she is in constant use of this ability, she finds that her aura drains rather quickly.
Offensive Enhancement :: 2 AP
- The second ability that Sage has come to command, an offensive enhancement that in simple terms pushes the limits of her weapons. Sage commonly surrounds the blades of her weapons with her Aura, extending the durability of her blades so she does not have to switch them out as often.
Mending :: 3 AP
- In a desire to protect the people she cares about, and her own well being of course, Sage has progressed farther in learning how to provide immediate attention to individuals and herself in need. By expending just a few points of aura, Sage can heal minor wounds and gashes, at least by stopping the bleeding she can give someone the chance they need at life.
SEMBLANCE : JANUS BLINK
- A similar Semblance to her Brother, Sage's power is a defensive concept more than an offensive maneuver; though it can be viewed both ways. For years, Sage has felt as if she has been 'Behind', constantly one or two steps slower than her opponents or rivals in their progress. This semblance reverses that feeling, instead insinuating that Sage is faster than her target.
While fighting an opponent, Sage will always appear to be moving faster than her opponent, appropriately dodging attacks or moving in closer to defeat her target. Be it man, or Grim, they could even be leagues stronger than Sage, but she will always be faster than her opponent.
You might be asking, how is she ALWAYS faster than her opponent, no matter how strong they are? In truth, Sage is not moving fast at all, she is merely changing her opponent's perception of time, giving the appearance and feeling that Sage is moving faster than she really is. So when her targets try to move to make up for the 'speed' Sage is able to appropriately dodge their attacks or move closer.
MECHANICS:
- Sage's Semblance works around the concept of Time Perception, altering it to make it appear like she is moving faster than she really is and the effect is caused by Aura.
By spending a few points of Aura, 10 pts per post, Sage can project her Aura onto her target, which slows the relay time between the optic nerves and their brain. This allows for the delayed reaction, as well as the appearance that Sage is moving faster than she really is.
Of course there are a few ways to combat this ability, one is fighting with your eyes closed, feeling or sensing her without eyesight, and the other is to recognize this difference and quickly combat the reaction and adjust your movements to evade her Semblance.
Being an ability that relies on Mortal/Creature construction, Sage finds that her Semblance does not work on any AI like being or Construct, as they have micro-technology that recognizes movement appropriately.
Because Sage is a younger Huntress with weak Aura, she finds that combating stronger opponents with stronger Aura's to be difficult, as they break her connection too quickly.
