Themes/Origins: The Aesir are based and inspired by the Norse mythology and pantheon of Gods and Goddess known as the ÆSir. Such figures would include Odin, Thor, Freya, and more. That is just the core of their motif. Their family culture also shows examples of Roman and Celtic origins. In general the Aesir are heavy mix of Norse and Ancient Roman culture with some Celtic accents. The a decent portion of the clan is made up of kinsmen that share a barbaric nature. Not brutal and cruel, but unsophisticated and traditional to the old ways. As a general rule Aesir dislike firearms thanks to their ability to distance combatants. Bows and arrows are acceptable, but few utilize the tools of the hunter. Close range and static weaponry is the preferred method of combat. Though seen as barbaric the Aesir act as a militia and have proven their worth multiple times throughout the history of Legion and Remnant as a whole. 

Leadership: The Aesir follow a hierarchy with one individual who leads the rest. The title of leader is Odin; this position is not based on a grandfather policy nor election. Yet must stay heretical. As Odin, the person is deemed the strongest and best suited to lead. Though it is outdated, the Aesir respect and uphold this tradition. The elders view it as a necessity in order to keep the eager from causing too many issues. Plus it still holds weight in Legion society. To become an Odin, one must defeat the current Odin in a duel. The first to submit or yield will be declared the loser. The winner will remain or take the title of Odin. In addition to the position, the Odin has the sole right to wield the ancient weapon known as Gungnir. 
Since the dawn of man there have been those who excel in combat. The Aesir is a family - a mighty clan - of warriors like this. The modern day Aesir Clan hails from the frost bitten kingdom of Legion and prefer solitude over crowded communities. Thus most Aesirs raised at the Aesir estate tend to stay there. This clan has grown to such a size that the estate is akin to a large town or village. Thanks to outsider influence this home to the warrior tribe is fondly refereed to as Aesirland.

During the Dark Age, when mortal man and frantic faunas were forced to the brink of extension a second time that 

Dueling and battling Human and Faunas adversaries until he commanded a small legion of warriors. When humanity stepped out of the shadows and went to reclaim the world this figure was said to have led a charge so massive the band had taken on three Argo and a pack of one-hundred Tosen. While the specifics of the actual battles, and all history, is up to those who wrote it down, it was commonly believed this figure did manage to accomplish feats which seemed mythical. After leading large groups from ruined city to ruined city, he allowed others to lead and rebuild the kingdoms. Not wanting the task of leading a kingdom. Instead the figure took on a number of spouses and built a home near modern day Legion.

The name of this figure is Odin M. Aesir. To this day the M is an unknown middle name. In addition it is believed the spelling of Aesir had been altered from it's origin. However that origin is also unknown. Still the Aesir do know their name means "Warrior risen from Ash", in an ancient, almost other-worldly language.

As time progressed the Aesir grew from a family into a clan. And the reputation of the Aesir grew along with their very real strength. People doubted the legends and the family mythos but understood and respect the tangible power each Aesir possessed. Skilled, powerful, and beautiful. These words were used when describing the Aesir. But ruthless, bloodthirsty, and cynical as well. It was as if by some divine intervention, the Aesir were genetically prone to combat. Throughout the history of conflict there had always been at least a handful of Aesir on the battlefield. whether they left the battlefield was always up to them however.

The Aesir are not full of simple-minded people - contrary to popular belief. They understand full-well the family could be taken out should a single kingdom wish it. They simply have not the resources nor numbers to fight against a whole kingdom. Yet they also don't wish to do such a thing. Collectively the Aesir Clan are well adapted to being soldiers and warriors without a desire to rule and whatnot. For this reason they continue to exist in a small settlement just outside the capital of Legion.

Wishing to gain favor with the Aesir and there strength if need be, certain members of society have requested arranged marriages in the recent generations. Male and female Aesir alike have been splintered off to families of the upper echelon of society. Not just of Legion either. Families in Rift and Pinnacle have also taken in an Aesir as a member-in-law. All this in archaic way of forming a connection to the warrior clan should the need arise. Though marriages through love have appeared once in a blue moon. Few they may be.
