Nessa is a woman of slightly above average height, standing at 174 cm, a height that is usually elevated by the high-heeled boots she often wears. However, while her height at that point is rather impressive, the rest of her physique is rather petite by comparison. She has a very slender and lean figure, and at the very first glance one who does not know her could reasonably assume that she's "frail". The truth however is that Nessa is actually somewhat muscular, but for the most part her clothes obscure that fact and unless one were to see her naked they would not be able to tell. While certainly not frail the muscles do little for her actual strength and she's somewhat embarrassed by them.
Nessa has what can best be described as a "pure" face, in fact all of her skin is like that. Milky white, almost pale with practically no blemishes on it. And while that alone is enough to draw one's attention to her face, her rather big and clear teal green eyes make her rather easy to recognize and notice, even in a large crowd of people. The features of her eyes, much like the rest of her face, are remarkably soft giving her a perpetual non-threatening and carefree expression. In fact, it can be said that those features almost make it difficult for her to glare at someone, a fact that annoys Nessato no end as her glaring is more likely to result in people calling her cute rather than intimidating. Another feature that is easy to identify is her hair, being of the same colour as her eyes with a somewhat unnatural shine to it. Though it's actually long enough to reach past her shoulders, she keeps most of it tied into a ponytail or twintails depending on her mood. For that purposes she most often uses a red ribbon, though she actually has a wide collection of many different ones for various occasions.
When it comes to clothing, Nessa has a somewhat stereotypical girly fashion sense. Most of the time she wears a simple skirt and blouse combination with some sort of accessory such as a tie, a ribbon or bow. Though it's her preferred outfit she's not above wearing dresses, short jackets, coats or even full on gowns if that is what the situation calls for.

By the time he decided to settle down properly and start a family of his own his glory days were long past him. Though while all that alone could already shape a child's life, Nessa's own childhood was not affected by the identity of her father, but rather by the identity of her mother, who was not actually the wife of her father.
Though the details of the entire ordeal were never discussed in the household, it was known that Nessa's father had an affair and that Nessa was the product of that particular affair. Though at first the plan seemed to be to simply pretend like nothing ever happened and simply leave Nessa to live with her birth mother. However after several complications which resulted in the death of her birth mother, Nessa did end up being taken in by the Chalcedony family. Despite being adopted as a young child however Nessa did not grow up with the illusion of being a legitimate child. Her adoptive mother resented her far too much to allow that. In a way it almost seemed like she blamed her for her husband's unfaithfulness. Arguments were a common occurrence at the household and Nessa was usually the one to blame.
Nessa herself wasn't particularly happy about her situation either. Her mother did everything she could to make her life difficult, while her father kept his distance to avoid any further conflict with his wife. In fact the only reason why Nessa had never run away from home during her childhood was her older sister, the biological child of her adoptive mother. She was some 10 years older than her and as far as she was concerned the perfect big sister. She was pretty much the only one who treated her kindly in the household. However she was also absent rather often as she was also a Huntress. Still she enjoyed the time he got to spend with her whenever she did come home which wasn't absurdly rare as she still lived at her parents' house. She'd tell her stories from her work or let her help her perform maintenance on her weapon, both which are probably the happiest aspects of Nessa's childhood.
Though it looked that for the most part her life would continue with a certain monotone rhythm with the occasional moment of hardship or joy caused by her mother and sister respectively, all of that took quite a different turn one day. Her sister simply disappeared one day. She wasn't even on a mission nor did anyone know where she had gone off to. She was simply nowhere to be found. Though nothing was official confirmed, after a considerable amount of time had passed without even a trace showing up Nessa's mother and father began having doubts that she'll appear or even be found. At that point the situation drastically changed for Nessa. Her mother became a lot harsher towards her. It almost seemed as if she started blaming her for the disappearance of her actual daughter, on top of the infidelity of her husband. As the years passed Nessa grew further apart from her parents until one day she simply left.
As luck would have it, much like her sister Nessa herself had a natural affinity for the Hunter business and as a result she ended up going to the academy to properly start her training to become a Huntress. Though Nessa had distanced herself quite a bit from home, she never did stop thinking about her sister. Though ashamed to admit it nowadays, but by now she had forgotten the last words that she spoke to her. That's likely due to the fact that her actual last words were something mundane like "See ya later." or "Take care little sis.". However the words that did stick with Nessa were ones she spoke to her in a conversation they had a couple of weeks before she disappeared. Though she could swear that he remembers them clearly, it is possible that both time and her own perception of things have twisted them in her mind. Nevertheless she's almost certain that on that day her sister told her . "Don't worry Nessa. I bet mum's gonna like you a lot more once I'm gone. I'm sure you'll be able to take my place.". Though at that time to Nessa it sounded like her sister simply meant that she'd move out of the house and start her own family one day, and realistically speaking that's most likely the meaning her words carried at that time. However nowadays Nessa can't help but wonder if there was something more behind what her sister told her, considering what happened shortly after. "I'm sure you'll be able to take my place.", it almost sounds like a curse to her now. POSITIVE - Determined Once Nessa has set her mind on doing something it's gonna take a miracle for her to just drop it. She approaches the things she does with a certain passion and does not give up until she is satisfied with the results. - Calm A trait that could also be described as relaxed. Nessa is someone who very rarely panics or loses her cool. She calmly analyzes a situation, takes all factors and possibilities into account before coming to a decision on how to act. This is both true for Nessa's everyday life and combat. In mundane situations Nessa displays a a fair amount of control over her emotions, rarely becoming shocked while in a fight she will remain composed no matter how dire or hopeless the situation seems even if that means that she has to mask the turmoil that is happening on the inside. - Optimistic Nessa has a fairly optimistic outlook on things. It's not that she's a full on optimist, she's very much aware of the state of things around her and sees the world as it is, however she also feels that as long as there is hope and a chance for a positive outcome, trough hard work and devotion that outcome can and will be achieved. In that sense Nessa is someone who very firmly rejects pessims and despair and Nessa will go out of her way to both scold and help the people who fall prey to it. - Reliable Those whom Nessa considers her friend can be certain that she is fiercely loyal to them. That loyalty isn't just an empty pledge but actually comes with the actions to back it up. Nessa will always find time to help a friend in need one way or another and the situations where she'd refuse to do so are as rare as can be. - Responsible Nessa is someone who takes responsibilities and tasks given to her very seriously. When given a task she will try to perform it to the best of her ability. Likewise, if she were to make a mistake or fail she does not try to shift the blame or make excuses, she is someone who very readily accepts the blame for her mistakes as well as the punishment that usually accompanies it. | NEGATIVE - Airhead Nessa isn't really a full on airhead or anything, however she is someone who does tend to get lost in her thoughts which does lead to her being seen as one rather often. She's someone who can get lose while walking down the street or completely tune out of a conversation because she was thinking about something. It's a habit that makes her seem both aloof as well as an airhead. She's also rather self-conscious about this and it's one of her main sources of embarrassment. - Overthinking Due to her habit of considering all possibilities for a situation Nessa is rather prone to overthinking many things. Though one can say she has a good attention for detail, the truth of the matter is that the "skill" often leads her to looking at individual pieces too much and as such missing the whole picture and misunderstanding the situation at hand. - Stubborn When Nessa decides she wants something, she gets it. Whether it be a position she wants or making a friend do something with her, Nessa can be rather relentless in her barrage of pleas. Similarly she also does not know when to let an argument be and will defend her position for hours if necessary. - Reckless to Nessa's belief that achieving a positive outcome is always possible with hard work she tends to be rather reckless in plenty of situations. It's scenarios where the chance of success is small but still there that make Nessa try out high-risk gambles and do everything she can for success even if it seems nigh-unattainable. - Needy While being helpful and rather reliable, there's also another side to Nessa's relationship to others. Namely she tends to be rather needy. She'll often ask for favours herself, especially is she is sick for an instance or in some other sort of distress. She also tends to be very clingy when her friends are concerned. She feels that it is her own strange way or showing affection. There is however a deeper root to her behavior as well. Her neediness serves as a direct reflection of her own wish to be needed by others and her fears of being abandoned or considered obsolete or useless. Nessa simply wants to feel wanted. |

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPONS
Nessa's weapon of choice is Knightbreaker, it is a sword she has crafted with her own two hands. Knightbreaker's main component is the before mentioned sword. It is simply a very well crafted blue blade. Slender, thin, slightly curved and fairy long. The blade is rather light and suited for a quick combat style. Due to the light weight as well as the length of the handle it is a sword that can be used both one-handed and two-handed if the user desires to do so. Though the blade is mostly blue in colour, it has in fact been tempered with wind dust during its creation. Though that fact is not revealed by its colour, the sword's affinity for wind becomes apparently as soon as it is swung trough the air. It flows trough it like a bird in flight, moving in a graceful arc, almost as if the air itself is moving out of the way of the sword. While the display is visually captivating it also serves a purpose as it makes the sword incredibly nimble and quick when it comes to handling, acting as if there were no resistance or friction that could hinder its movements.
The second part of Knightbreaker and perhaps the one that draws more attention to itself is the sheath, though truth be told it has more in common with a case of some sort than a sword sheath. It is considerably bigger than the sword it is supposed to hold and it has in fact it's own handle attached to be held almost as if it were its own weapon. And that is something that is partially true. Though the sheath can't function alone, once the sword it holds slides into it the entire thing becomes a rifle. However much like the sheath has more in common with a some sort of peculiar case, the rifle has more in common with a cannon. The weapon shoots high powered projectiles out of its top end, using a railgun mechanism. Though it cannot compare to a sniper in terms of range, it makes up for that with the high impact of the projectiles as well as the relatively fast rate of fire, allowing the wielder to unleash a barrage of heavy fire upon their enemies. The rifle can only be fired while the sword is sheathed however as the handle of the sword acts as a trigger. Inside the case one can also find several cartridges and vials used for storing dust. Once filled with dust the weapon can enhance its shots with some form or dust or even coat the blade in a dust based effect before it is drawn from the sheath. There are also holes on the other side of the blade specifically made so that the weapon may discharge dust from it, this allows the weapon to act as a "booster" propelling the user forward by using up large quantities of wind or fire dust. This also means that so long the blade is still in the sheath, the entire weapon can be swung as some sort of mock greatsword, which while completely blunt can unleash a variety of elemental attacks upon enemies by burning up its dust reserves and expelling them trough the designated openings. Nessa makes use of all the functions and often uses her sword with one hand while holding the sheath in the free hand in order to be able to quickly switch to ranged mode if she deems it to be necessary. Alternatively she carries the sheath on her shoulder by attaching a leather strap to it.
The weapon is dear to Nessa as it is something she created with her own hands and she is absurdly attached to it, to the point of sometimes sleeping while clinging onto the weapon. Though Knightbreaker can be both versatile and powerful, it is a complex weapon which requires a lot of attention as well as maintenance.
MISC.
Besides her weapon, the only thing Nessa usually has on her person are large quantities of dust stored within the sheath of Knightbreaker. She keeps it mostly in shard form, but also a smaller quantity of selected types of powdered dust. The primary types she uses are wind and fire dust, those two being the most numerous ones in her arsenal as well as being the only ones of which she keeps a small amount of in powdered form. Besides those two Nessa also makes use of energy, steam, kinetic and gravity dust. Though she is not opposed to modifying her loadout, the above is her default collection and she only modifies it if she knows that she will be needing a specific kind of dust.
Nessa's aura is azure in colour with the edges mimicking the colour of her hair and eyes and having streaks of teal show up as her aura flickers. Nessa's aura is one that radiates calmness, giving off a strong feeling of tranquility. When one is in her presence they feel like they are standing in a gentle breeze. Not too strong or wild, but also firm and unwavering.
Nessa's has learned one way of utilizing her aura, that being the art of Defense Enhancement.
PRISMATIC MIND
Nessa's semblance, Prismatic Mind, grants her the ability of accelerated thinking and mind partition. Simply put, Nessa's mind functions similarly to a super computer, processing things incredibly fast and allowing her to have parallel streams of thought. Though it sounds like a fairly simple and straightforward semblance it does have a variety of applications. First and foremost Nessa can concentrate and think about multiple things at once. This essentially allows her to fight multiple opponents at the same time with relative ease or perhaps fight while also making a complex battle plan without being distracted from combat or losing focus. While the advantage of using this semblance to fight multiple opponents is rather obvious, it also provides an edge in single combat as it allows Nessa to overwhelm her opponents. Fighting Nessa one on one really means fighting "multiple Nessas", the main Nessa who does the fighting as well as several more background Nessas which observe the enemy, analyze his moves, make plans and direct the main Nessa during combat.
A step up from the basic mind partition described above is a technique Nessa calls Instant Execution. For this technique to be performed, while Nessa is fighting she creates one or more additional thought chambers inside her head. Those background minds formulate a very specific action, planning it out to the smallest details. That can be a particularly complex technique, a set of attacks or a complicated maneuver. Once the planning is complete Nessa can trigger it, instantly performing the action that was planned out. When activated the minds which did the planning take an active role and execute it all while Nessa's main mind remains in the background overseeing the execution, making it seem as if Nessa was in some kind of trance as she performs the technique. What makes the seemingly simple technique effective is the fact that all thinking and focus necessary for the execution of a technique have been done ahead of time and all the motions have already been committed to muscle memory and optimized. All that is left when Nessa uses it is flawless mechanical execution. Instant Execution allows Nessa to quickly shoot down a large number of targets in what seems to be a blink of the eye by taking care of the thinking, aiming and focusing beforehand and then just pulling the trigger and shifting the weapon when the technique is executed. She can also do a quick series of slashes with her sword, practically appearing instantaneous in order to overwhelm her opponent, push them into a corner or put pressure on them. Instant Execution can be considered the signature ability of Nessa's semblance.
Finally, the most complex and demanding aspects of Nessa's semblance are those which require her to create an extremely large number of parallel minds. In fact at that point Nesssa no longer considers them individual parallel thought processes or minds, but rather a homogeneous network or even web of minds. Once she has performed the necessary partitions, Nessa can use Refracted Focus and Laplace. Refracted Focus is an ability which puts the processing power of the entire mind network to use in the area of observation. What this essentially means is that Nessa can observe the world around her in slow motion. As the ability does not grant her any extra speed however, this ability's primary function is to let her carefully observe something. It can allow her to analyze an enemy's attack as it is being executed or take a closer look at certain details or even give her more time to react to an action or event that is occurring around her. While useful the ability is also very draining on Nessa and she can only use it for a couple moments at a time.
Similarly Laplace also uses a huge mind network, but rather to observe the world it is used to make predictions about it. Laplace calculates the most likely outcome of an event by using the available factors and variables. The ability allows Nessa to predict attacks or be one step ahead of her enemy. Laplace however is only mechanical in nature. That is to say, while it can predict the path of a bullet or the arc of a sword swing, it cannot tell Nessa what her opponent is thinking or what they are planning to do. Lapalce does not have a 100% accuracy and it relies entirely on already existing information, as such if Nessa is fed flawed information the prediction made by Laplace will be equally flawed.
Though Nessa's semblance is fairly useful for many different combat situations it does not come without its burden. For one it naturally causes mental strain. Overusing basic thought partitioning and Instant Execution can cause headaches, while doing the same with Refracted Focus and Laplace will lead to dizziness, blurry vision and possibly even passing out if Nessa pushes herself too much. The strain the semblance brings with itself isn't just mental either. As mentioned above Prismatic Mind allows Nessa to fight as "many Nessas at the same time", however, there's still only one Nessa executing the techniques and only one body straining itself and using up its stamina and aura to perform all the actions that have been planned out. As such overindulging in the capability of easily fighting multiple opponents at once or overwhelming a single one quickly tires Nessa out and causes her to run out of stamina at what are rather unfortunate moments.
Costs:
- Basic Mind Partition: 5 aura points to activate, 1 aura point per minute for each parallel mind that was created to maintain.
- Instant Execution: 5 aura points per use.
- Refracted Focus: 10 aura points to activate and 1 aura point per second up to a maximum of 10 seconds.
- Laplace: 20 aura points per prediction made.

AURA
Nessa's aura is azure in colour with the edges mimicking the colour of her hair and eyes and having streaks of teal show up as her aura flickers. Nessa's aura is one that radiates calmness, giving off a strong feeling of tranquility. When one is in her presence they feel like they are standing in a gentle breeze. Not too strong or wild, but also firm and unwavering.
Nessa's has learned one way of utilizing her aura, that being the art of Defense Enhancement.
SEMBLANCE
PRISMATIC MIND
Nessa's semblance, Prismatic Mind, grants her the ability of accelerated thinking and mind partition. Simply put, Nessa's mind functions similarly to a super computer, processing things incredibly fast and allowing her to have parallel streams of thought. Though it sounds like a fairly simple and straightforward semblance it does have a variety of applications. First and foremost Nessa can concentrate and think about multiple things at once. This essentially allows her to fight multiple opponents at the same time with relative ease or perhaps fight while also making a complex battle plan without being distracted from combat or losing focus. While the advantage of using this semblance to fight multiple opponents is rather obvious, it also provides an edge in single combat as it allows Nessa to overwhelm her opponents. Fighting Nessa one on one really means fighting "multiple Nessas", the main Nessa who does the fighting as well as several more background Nessas which observe the enemy, analyze his moves, make plans and direct the main Nessa during combat.
A step up from the basic mind partition described above is a technique Nessa calls Instant Execution. For this technique to be performed, while Nessa is fighting she creates one or more additional thought chambers inside her head. Those background minds formulate a very specific action, planning it out to the smallest details. That can be a particularly complex technique, a set of attacks or a complicated maneuver. Once the planning is complete Nessa can trigger it, instantly performing the action that was planned out. When activated the minds which did the planning take an active role and execute it all while Nessa's main mind remains in the background overseeing the execution, making it seem as if Nessa was in some kind of trance as she performs the technique. What makes the seemingly simple technique effective is the fact that all thinking and focus necessary for the execution of a technique have been done ahead of time and all the motions have already been committed to muscle memory and optimized. All that is left when Nessa uses it is flawless mechanical execution. Instant Execution allows Nessa to quickly shoot down a large number of targets in what seems to be a blink of the eye by taking care of the thinking, aiming and focusing beforehand and then just pulling the trigger and shifting the weapon when the technique is executed. She can also do a quick series of slashes with her sword, practically appearing instantaneous in order to overwhelm her opponent, push them into a corner or put pressure on them. Instant Execution can be considered the signature ability of Nessa's semblance.
Finally, the most complex and demanding aspects of Nessa's semblance are those which require her to create an extremely large number of parallel minds. In fact at that point Nesssa no longer considers them individual parallel thought processes or minds, but rather a homogeneous network or even web of minds. Once she has performed the necessary partitions, Nessa can use Refracted Focus and Laplace. Refracted Focus is an ability which puts the processing power of the entire mind network to use in the area of observation. What this essentially means is that Nessa can observe the world around her in slow motion. As the ability does not grant her any extra speed however, this ability's primary function is to let her carefully observe something. It can allow her to analyze an enemy's attack as it is being executed or take a closer look at certain details or even give her more time to react to an action or event that is occurring around her. While useful the ability is also very draining on Nessa and she can only use it for a couple moments at a time.
Similarly Laplace also uses a huge mind network, but rather to observe the world it is used to make predictions about it. Laplace calculates the most likely outcome of an event by using the available factors and variables. The ability allows Nessa to predict attacks or be one step ahead of her enemy. Laplace however is only mechanical in nature. That is to say, while it can predict the path of a bullet or the arc of a sword swing, it cannot tell Nessa what her opponent is thinking or what they are planning to do. Lapalce does not have a 100% accuracy and it relies entirely on already existing information, as such if Nessa is fed flawed information the prediction made by Laplace will be equally flawed.
Though Nessa's semblance is fairly useful for many different combat situations it does not come without its burden. For one it naturally causes mental strain. Overusing basic thought partitioning and Instant Execution can cause headaches, while doing the same with Refracted Focus and Laplace will lead to dizziness, blurry vision and possibly even passing out if Nessa pushes herself too much. The strain the semblance brings with itself isn't just mental either. As mentioned above Prismatic Mind allows Nessa to fight as "many Nessas at the same time", however, there's still only one Nessa executing the techniques and only one body straining itself and using up its stamina and aura to perform all the actions that have been planned out. As such overindulging in the capability of easily fighting multiple opponents at once or overwhelming a single one quickly tires Nessa out and causes her to run out of stamina at what are rather unfortunate moments.

- Basic Mind Partition: 5 aura points to activate, 1 aura point per minute for each parallel mind that was created to maintain.
- Instant Execution: 5 aura points per use.
- Refracted Focus: 10 aura points to activate and 1 aura point per second up to a maximum of 10 seconds.
