Lily's response to 'M'Aegle' as she believed the girl's name to be, was simple and innocent. "I wasn't lost exactly, I was just..." She paused, recalling the sensation of getting lost in the crowd, the fear of a threat striking out from anywhere at any time, the uncertainty that prevented her from knowing whether her defenses were needed. "Flustered. I wasn't thinking straight. If you would like to be my guide to the school, I'd be more than happy to accept your generous offer of aid." She felt oddly vulnerable admitting that. More so than when this same girl was invading her personal space and playing with her ears.
Lily then turned her attention to the teacher and looked blankly as the hand was offered to her. Her first response would have normally been to consider this an attack, but she had been disarmed at this point in the conversation, and felt that it meant something else entirely. It was not a gesture she was familiar with however, so she just held her arm out in the same fashion. Not clasping hands, just mimicking the act of holding a hand out.
"I look forward to training hard and improving my skills. I have been told there is much to be learned from this place. If I am to be successful in my goals, I will need that knowledge." She found herself smiling. This is why she was here. Away from the awful claustrophobic crowds, she felt that she had a chance to learn, a chance to grow. That's what the huntresses and hunters told her this place was for, and she felt for the first time like that was true. The panic she'd been feeling, while not gone, was a bit further away than usual.
After listening to what he was a teacher of, she smiled even wider. "My mother taught me combat, and my father Aura. If you can teach both adequately, you must be quite the accomplished warrior." She bowed, showing respect, placing her right fist in her left palm. The formal greeting for her tribe. "My name is Lily," she said, putting a finger against her mouth as she tried to recollect the second name given to her by those that saved her. "Lily Wilde, and I look forward to being a student here. I hope that you are as capable as I've been led to believe... and, yes, I am rather thirsty, I would love something to drink."
She was unaware of how formal her speech sounded, it was simply her manner of speech. Her parents had taught her formally how to communicate, in case she ever had to communicate with another tribe. It was easy to offend the other tribes, and they might take issue with any misspoken word. In that one aspect, she didn't seem like the wilderness child that she was.

Fortunately, Aegle did not take Zari's very reasonable proclamation that he could find out who either of them were as a challenge. Fortunately for Aegle and Lily at least. If Aegle's mouth had succeeded in overriding her limited common sense, there was no telling the damage she might have done before finally being shut up. Instead, the orange haired girl let herself enjoy the satisfaction of being appointed Lily's guide. Zari almost certainly would have done a better job showing the new student around, but Aegle somehow managed to completely overlook that point, and merely considered Lily's acceptance of her offer as the personal triumph it most assuredly was.
When the focus of the conversation shifted away from her though, Aegle was left looking rather uncertain. At his explanation for his precise topic of study, Aegle took a renewed interest in Zari, and was surprised she didn't already know who he was. Aura and combat were her specialties, after all. The fact that she would miss something so relevant to her interests really shouldn't have come as that great a surprise though. Aegle could successfully overlook a cliff, even after stepping right off of it.
"M'names Aegle..." The smaller girl offered eventually, after Lily provided her own introduction. She hadn't really felt that compelled to introduce herself, at least not beyond general good manners which seldom meant much to her anyway, but she wanted to feel like she was somehow involved in the conversation again. "and you can keep your tea. M'not really supposed to have caffeine..." Tea was an old people drink anyway. Aegle might have said more on the subject, but her attention was wandering again. Something that Lily had said caught her attention. It was only as Zari was giving her the offered cup of tea that it clicked. "Wait, your name's Wilde?" She asked, her smile renewed with laughter just barely restrained in her jovial tone. As she thought more about it, her grin grew wider and wider, and a couple of quiet snickers managed to escape her lip. She might have said more on that subject too, but there was a real risk that the next time she opened her mouth, laughter would explode out of her like air from a deflating balloon. Rather acutely aware of that risk, Aegle covered her mouth in a vain attempt to repress her mirth. The idea of a Faunus named 'Wilde' was simply too funny for her to handle, and it didn't really occur to her how Lily's family, or Lily in particular might have happened upon such a name. Though it wasn't the case in this particular instance, there were surely a few Faunus Wildes in Remnant who'd had the name forced on them by unimaginative institutional prejudice. Aegle remained oblivious to that fact, however. Just as she remained oblivious to the fact that Lily's last name was as appropriate as her own was ironic. "That's awesome~" she finally managed, somehow keeping herself from breaking out in a gale of laughter.

[attr="class","notafraid"] [attr="class","naimg"] [attr="class","naimgborder"] [attr="class","nalyrics"]Mirror, tell me something tell me who's the loneliest of all? [attr="class","nabody"]What a gorgeous day. Ara, clad in a pink and white bathing suit, was lying on the grass just outside her current home. Chrohn, Dusty, and Mizumi were gone - probably out doing whatever they did when they went out as a crew. Ara was never really interested in these ventures, and often times would remain behind to enjoy some time to herself. Between school and dealing with her housemates, she certainly needed it. The warmth of Remnant’s sun drifted across her pale skin, but she knew there’d be no time for tanning. After all, she was far too light-skinned for such a thing to occur. That said, she had been out there for a few hours. It was time to find something else to do, to avoid boredom. Good god, how she detested boredom. Crawling off the small blanket she had set herself on, Ara made her way back into the house and up to her room. Going for a quick swim was on her mind, wanting to take advantage of the many beaches nearby. The only decision of remote difficulty was settling on which beach to go to. Throwing on a light jacket and a pair of shorts, Ara made her way out before buzzing off in the direction of the main beach. If she was lucky, there’d be few people there. She knew, however, that she was likely among many that wanted to enjoy the weather - and the water. People had been afraid since the attack on the island, but all of that tension appeared to be slipping away. Thank goodness for that. Eventually, Ara came upon a small group. Aegle - a girl she had met before, another girl, and Professor Thorn. While she cared little about what two girls were doing, she was curious as to what drew the attention of the professor. ’Time to be a little nosey.’ She thought to herself. With a smug grin, Ara approached the trio, holding her hands behind her back. “Hey guys, having a party?” She said in a confident tone. “Hope I’m not intruding on anything. Just saw a tiny crowd and wanted to poke in and say hi.” Ara held out one of her hands, directing it towards the Faunus girl. “You must be new here.” She added, the grin still on her face. “My name is Ara Eisold. While Zari wouldn't call the girl strange, he did find parts of her behavior questionable. After showing she didn't know what a handshake was, the man began to paint a picture of Lily's upbringing. It was clear that she didn't know many of the common courtesys people used. A number of students have come to Vytal from places outside of the Kingdoms. Small villages, tribes, or towns that were just not properly mapped and nor visited often. That would explain her behavior. The ignorance of courtesy and the anxiety of being in crowds. Though he was forced to take a frown when she called him a warrior. He wanted to correct her, but that could lead to trouble with Aegle around. The girl could try to dig deep when he said he wasn't a warrior. Not fully anyway.
Mimicking her movements, Zari also bowed his head with a smile. "I am happy to have you as a student. I will be sure to work you to the bone. Make sure you come to me if you need anything. I might not be my master, but I did train as a Cela Monk. I'll get you two to new heights." He addressed them both, before he unscrewed the top of his thermos. Using the top as a cup, he poured the remainder of his tea into it and offered the drink to Lily. Turning to Aegle, Zari shifted as he glanced the girl up and down. Currently the girl was a mystery to him. Both were. He'd have to learn about their fighting capabilities soon in order to properly train them. "No rest for the wicked." He muttered before turning to see the new arrival.
"Oh. Good day to you Young Ara Eisold." Zari placed a hand behind his back. "Just making my rounds and found our new student a little worried. Suppose she will be fine in time." Zari offered the three girls a faint and forced smile. "But might I ask what you are doing here, my dear?" Zari would lift his hand and gesture to Ara's current wardrobe. "Off to...soak in the sun...I guess is the phrase?"

When she was told that the name Wilde was awesome, she smiled wide. She'd never had need for a second name, but if this one was going to be so well received she was glad that those that saved her bestowed it upon her. It made her feel warm inside. She was about to tell her how glad she was that Aegle like her last name when the teacher spoke up again.
She laughed at his peculiar sentence. "Of course you aren't your master, you are you." She shook her head, as if she would need that clarified. She was ignorant, she was not stupid. Besides, she didn't even know his master.
When the new girl showed up, Lily found herself once again on edge. She'd only just gotten used to the presence of these other two. It wasn't as bad though. She sized her up. She realized she was paying attention to all of three of their stances, posture, and facial expressions to see if any gave away any ill intent. She hadn't recognized that she was doing so, but it made sense. Perhaps this is why the crowd had freaked her out so bad. There was too much data out there the analyze, here, with only a few people, it was still a manageable number. Her initial panic was quickly overcome by bemusement. This new girl seemed to hold herself differently than the first two that had shown up, but she couldn't sense any violent intent. Perhaps she'd imagined a shade of mischief, but her words were innocent enough.
"It seems I have picked the most popular alleyway in the district to hide from people in," she said with a self deprecating laugh. When she held out a hand to shake, Lily repeated the gesture she'd taken with the teacher, holding her hand parallel but not grasping on to it. She still was unsure exactly what the gesture was meant to convey, but she figured it was similar to how the skull tribe would place their fist over their heart when greeting each other. Just a different ritual for a different culture. "My name is Lily Wilde, today is to be my first day. I'm from..." She hadn't actually thought of how to explain where she was from. Everyone here would be from one of the kingdoms. Should she lie? How could she though? She didn't know anything about the kingdoms. She wouldn't be able to maintain a lie. Should she tell the truth? What would people think of her if she did? She let the sentence hang in the air, and was happy when the teacher spoke again.
She took a sip of the tea that had been offered to her, and she let the warmth soak through her. It was nice, slightly sweet, earthy, and relaxing. This was a drink that she could come to enjoy. She looked over at Aegle and said "Are you sure you didn't want some of this? It's actually really good. This T is a really interesting drink."

"Oh hey, it's the silver eyed girl." Aegle, who was feeling increasingly marginalized from her introductions to Lily, piped pleasantly when she spied Ara's approach. If the older girl hadn't recognized her distinctive orange fashion sense, she certainly would have recognized Aegle's shrill and loud voice. Her enthusiasm dwindled slightly when Ara's attention inevitably focused on Lily though. It wasn't that Aegle didn't appreciate the novelty of meeting a new person, it was just that she hadn't really seen Ara since the trip to Legion and that she'd thought now might be an opportunity to catch up. She might have reached some conclusions about their relationship following the mission with Aisio which were not wholly well founded. After all, Aegle considered everyone she met a friend, even when those people openly despised her company.
Though Aegle wasn't nearly introspective enough to feel as though she was being left out, the sense that she wasn't wholly involved in the conversation unfolding before her. It was an sense which grew even more acute as both Ara and Lily introduced themselves. Aegle did note Lily once again held her hand out in a weird, not quite handshake way, and briefly wondered if that was some sorta faunus custom or something. Wondering why Faunus might not shake hands like regular people briefly distracted her enough that she was actually a little surprised when she found Lily was addressing her again. "I didn't say I didn't want any..." Aegle corrected quietly as her expression transitioned from mild surprise to slightly brooding, like she was on the edge of throwing a little sulk. "Like I said, s'just that I'm not s'posed to have caffeine." The little shrug she affected following that clarification gave punctuation to her words. She didn't want to discuss the specific reasons she wasn't allowed caffeine, and the openly sulky demeanor she'd adopted made that fact quite evident. "S'an old people drink anyway..." She added in a somewhat quieter tone, as she shot Zari a glance which left no doubt as to whom she was referring. Though she did have a keen desire to improve and the professor happened to teach her two strongest fields, she had yet to forget his threat to put her in detention. All the good will that might have come from him being a potential trainer couldn't quite overcome the possibility that he might have prevented her own private training. She also wasn't sure who he thought he was calling wicked, and was more than a little put off by the implication.
Aegle shifted her attention away from Zari and over to Ara once again, and her smile abruptly reappeared, like she had thrown a switch somewhere in the back of her mind. "I'm gonna show Lily around." She told the silver eyed girl eagerly, "D'ya wanna join us?" While Zari had made the, not difficult, connection between Ara's outfit and a bit of baking in the sun, Aegle had evidently not. She flashed Ara her too-wide smile in apparent eagerness for the older girl to agree. Then, as if she thought it might sway Ara's decision, Aegle added, "I was gonna take her to the cafeteria first~"

[attr="class","notafraid"] [attr="class","naimg"] [attr="class","naimgborder"] [attr="class","nalyrics"]Mirror, tell me something tell me who's the loneliest of all? [attr="class","nabody"]As she gently shook Lily’s hand, Ara was sure to regard the teacher as he greeted her. "Oh. The silver-eyed girl smiled, her eyes shifting from the professor before ultimately settling on Lily and Aegle. “I’m sure she’ll do just fine.” She responded, directing most of her focus to Aegle with a subtle grin. “She just have to surround herself with the right people.” When asked about her presence, Ara’s first reaction was to snicker under her breath. “I’m actually heading to the beach, but I saw the group, so I wanted to see what all the commotion was about.” She answered. "My name is Lily Wilde, today is to be my first day. I'm from..." The new girl added, introducing herself before trailing off before indicating where she was from. Ara didn’t mind, having instead raised her hand to keep the girl from going on anyway. “No offense, but it doesn’t matter where you’re from.” Ara said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. “What matters now is that you’re here. You are a Vytal student, and with that comes a host of responsibilities that make our old lives pale in comparison.” Her gaze left Aegle, locking onto the new girl once again, though her seemingly trademark smirk remained on her face. “It’ll take becoming a hero in a dominant to get anyone around here to care about where you came from.”Upon Aegle’s invitation to join them for a tour of the island, Ara’s grin transformed into a cheerful smile. What a fun idea. “Well, if Lily here doesn’t mind, I think I’d love to join you guys.” She replied. “That is, of course, assuming you two are okay with my choice of outfit for this little trip. Lily stood quietly as Aegle greeted the new girl with the silver eyes. She smiled, the eye color of this new girl was a few shades lighter than her own gunmetal grey eyes. It was a fairly rare coloring. She looked up and down the girl, sizing her up while she spoke to Aegle. She'd caught something interesting in her response to Lily's statement earlier though, so she had to ask. "What is a Dominant?" She didn't really care about people being interested in her past, but there was a lot in this school that she didn't understand, and she wished to learn everything she could about the systems the school used to prop up it's students. She would one day be a great Huntress, but until then she must dedicate herself to growing stronger and evolving her fighting style.
She finished off the tea, handing the cup back to the teacher who'd given her the warm drink, and bowing as she'd done before, with her right fist in her left hand. A show of respect and a way to honor one's elders.
"I can't wait to see all that this place has to offer, training grounds, halls of knowledge, and other mysteries that I'm sure will show themselves to me in time. I would like to begin the tour as soon as possible so that I might begin my journey towards life as a huntress." She said with a soft smile on her face regarding her two comrades. "I am in your capable hands, please share your knowledge with me."
She was being, perhaps a bit too formal. At the moment it was the only thing stopping her from slipping back into the panic that she'd had when she first arrived. She was on edge, to say the least. She was surrounded by three people now, and while she trusted them, they were unfamiliar to her. She still felt like an animal with it's back against a wall, and she wasn't overly fond of that sensation. She knew that she could likely run circles around them if she were at her max speed, but each person present here was a fighter much like herself. She did not want to discover whatever tricks they might have up their sleeves if they harbored any ill intent towards her. So, she remained formal, and rigid. She would not let down her guard yet. She would monitor these people closely until they gave her a true reason to trust them. And, if she must, she would flee. She knew how the wilds worked, and if the school didn't work out, she could always return to life out there. Out there she was guaranteed to either get stronger or die.
