★ APPEARANCE
The type of person who seldom blends into a crowd rightfully describes Polly given her rather unique hair color—hot pink. Hair dye obviously fabricates this lie of a color, but boring colors have never fully satisfied the girl; so it's a given she'd choose something remarkably eccentric. She thankfully contains her outlandish tastes when it comes to shaping her hair style, opting to allowing it unchecked growth, save for once in awhile when she visits a salon to cut it. Strangely, however, her hair's growth gravitates toward the left side of her head, away from the T-shaped scar on the right side of her cranium. The phenomenon draws neither curiosity nor ire from Polly as she carries genuine pride in her old wound.
A myriad of people would quickly form an opinion on Polly from her hair alone. They'd quickly conclude she must fancy herself a punk-rocker or some kind of emo, but a genuine glance at her face could dispel these notions. Rather than finding a pineapple of piercings or tacky makeup, they would find a face painted with a warm expression and green cordial eyes. Although she might regularly consider the fashion, she would never actually go through with getting a piercing or sporting makeup ever again, a preference that stems from a teaching her old master practically beat into her and one she now heeds faithfully. That's not to say temptation hasn't knocked on her door before; Polly's dark eyebrows serve as the one insecurity haunting her face since those few strands of hair easily betray the hair dye atop her head.
Overall, Polly doesn't appear appropriately frightening for a huntress. Aside from a head of laughable pink hair, Polly stands at a mere 5'6" with a gaunt frame of 130 pounds; although, she does possess a noticeable tone of muscles on her arms, a simply side-effect of Polly's profession rather than the intentional result of a workout. Speaking of her arms, Polly's has painted her left member with two sets of black tattoos. Her first tattoo comes in the form of a pair of dark rings wrapped around her forearm and mean very little in terms of significance. Her second set of ink appears as the words "HUNGER IS PAIN" on her left shoulder and possess a much more special meaning for Polly, reminding her of her life's ambition.
Polly often chooses an informal mode of dress, which makes sense given her country of origin. Her signature outfit consists of a leathery, blue tank top with white trim. Despite how unprofessional it may look, her top originally acted as a workplace shirt at one point, evident by the "Cain's Tooth" logo on the left breast. For her bottom half, Polly prefers black and baggy jeans with ill-matching sneakers that the girl has ruthlessly worn out. Polly's taste for ensemble accessories only goes as far as a pair of black and red sweatbands around her wrists. Otherwise, the common man will almost never catch her wearing anything else.

★ PERSONALITY
★ HISTORY
Polly grew up in the Kingdom of Pinnacle as the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Cotton. The Cottons lived a relatively simple life, but much of that simplicity derived from their destitution. Polly's father worked as a mere street entertainer while her mother stayed at home per the demands of Mr. Cotton's pride, resulting in few resources for the three. This culminated with the family's abysmal living conditions—a small wooden house that acted more as a glorified barn—to create ruthless adversity for the little girl. To Polly's memory, however, the worst feeling she had experienced in her early childhood arose in the form of hunger. With so little money to put food on the table, Polly often felt the black hole of hunger within her stomach as if she were dissipating from the inside. It numbed her to every other emotion and worry, making her obsessive in ending the weekly affliction.
Sometime after her sixth birthday, Polly grew irritated with her hunger enough to finally take action. She informed her mother she would go play outside before wandering into the nearby town. She happened upon a well-known restaurant of the region known as "Cain's Tooth" that, to the little girl, represented a potential source of food. Polly cleverly snuck in through the building's back alley and procured a basket of bread from the kitchen. That's when she first met Cain; a tall balding man managed to catch her before she could exit the building and responded by dragging her into his office. He yelled and scolded the girl—his moral came to be "stealing is an insult to the chef—until he left her in tears. When both Polly and Cain finally calmed down, Cain made the girl ask nicely for the food (which she did) and gave her the basket of bread back before letting her go.
Polly assured herself she'd never return to that restaurant, but her hunger would eventually veto that decision. She returned to Cain's Tooth just two weeks later and asked the owner for food once more. Though quite grumpy, Cain agreed to give her another basket of bread before sending her off. Of course, little time passed before she returned again and again for even more food. Cain, despite how rude he could act, possessed little tolerance for seeing hunger run rampant and fed her each time. This little dance continued on and off for a year until Polly's seventh birthday. On her way to the restaurant that day, Polly saw a picture of a birthday cake on a billboard and asked Cain if he would give her one. For once, the man denied to give her one and instead demanded that she work for it. He gave Polly a child's apron and allowed her to assist him in making a cake, marking the first time she crafted a meal.
After that day, Cain started teaching Polly to make simple food items. He then started requiring her to make the food herself if she hoped to bring any of it back to her house, obviously hoping to make her a little more self-sufficient. Still, he gave her one of his cookbooks and free reign in his ingredient closet whenever she stopped by the restaurant. Eventually, as she grew older, Polly even started helping around Cain's Tooth by carrying food and mopping floors; Cain would never allow her to cook for the customers though. He knew for certain that a little girl could not cook anywhere near his standards after all. That's not to say the man didn't work to improve Polly's cooking. He always watched over her when the girl desired to cook something for herself, and he ruthlessly criticized everything she did. If something didn't have too much salt on it, it had sat in the oven too long. If not that, it had poor flavor or maybe even too much flavor. The standards were always high with Cain.
One of Polly's favorite odd jobs around the restaurant turned out to be deliveries. Cain would give the girl a box of whatever had been ordered and send her off to one of the surrounding villages. All of Cain's employees found the job itself overly tedious but Polly absolutely loved the look on the customer's face when they knew they'd finally get to eat their meal. Each time, it almost felt as if Polly was curing the world's hunger herself one step at a time. She so enjoyed the feeling that she began giving away the food she made herself to random stranger; although, Cain quickly put a stop to it since it became rather expensive with Polly going through his ingredients so liberally. In spite of this, Polly aspired to feed the hungry. If not at that time, then some day.
At the age of twelve, Polly was sent off by Cain to deliver a box of specially prepared food to a man in a nearby village. There appeared nothing interesting about it, but Polly went about it enthusiastically as she always did. She'd visited the village before and took a familiar path toward the settlement. By some twisted development of bad luck, the girl found the stuff of nightmares wondering the dirt path—Creatures of Grimm. Little Polly managed duck into some bushes and remained in the position as the monsters trekked off in the direction of the village. The sight of them greatly frightened her, but Polly remained adamant in delivering the food. She followed the Grimm a little more until she could take the opportunity to take an alternate road which required significantly more walking. She could not fathom what awaited her at the end of her path.
The village resembled a living Hell; fire ate away at houses, Grimm overpowered men on the streets, and an almost tangible grief drifted in the air. Like a dumb child though, Polly ran into the village. She ducked into the houses and ran through the windows in an unlikely attempt to avoid the Grimm as she searched for the one house to which she was sent to deliver food. When she managed to find it, she found no one at the residence. The home had seemingly been abandoned, so the startled child let herself in and took refuge. She merely left the box of food on a table and watched the grisly scene of the village unfold from a window.
The attack on the village did not go unnoticed by the kingdom. It was quickly broadcasted across Pinnacle, and huntsmen in the region were sporadically sought after, though it would obviously go slowly given the kingdom's way of doing things. Cain, on the other hand, acted immediately. As soon as he saw the news from within his office, he left the restaurant in search of his delivery girl. A good hour passed before the chef arrived at the village, and the situation had evidently deteriorated. The only sounds to escape the streets were howls of Grimm, who had seemingly driven out or killed every human inhabitant. A girl's single scream drew the attention of the man however, along with the attention of the village's Grimm.
The Grimm discovered Polly hiding within the house and easily breached the windows and doors, but the little girl managed to barricade herself within an upstairs room. For a few terrifying minutes, Polly cried in the corner of the room as she heard the Grimm howling and beating against her amateur barricade until finally they were through. The next few moments would always remain hazy for Polly, but one of the Grimm managed to get a good swipe at the girl's face before Cain burst in and killed the creatures with a strange weapon. The man fought with such finesse that even Polly could not mistake him for anything other than a huntsman at that moment. Regardless of what he was, Cain successfully retrieved his cook-in-training and escaped the village.
Polly spent a couple of days in her bed to recover from her wound, which would one day turn into her T-shaped scar. Once she recovered and returned to helping at Cain's Tooth, the girl would come to learn from the chef that he had indeed been a huntsman at one point but gave up on the profession to pursue his dream of owning a restaurant. This information greatly piqued Polly's interest and for a long time; Polly must have spent a month asking the man for stories about Grimm hunting, something the chef did not have much passion in telling. Although, Cain could understand how the youth might find a man killing monsters with a frying pan as something interesting. Unbeknownst to the chef at the time, however, he was inspiring something new within his pupil with each new tale.
Not long after, a logic developed in Polly's head: feeding those in need would undoubtedly bring challenges along with it, challenges such as the Grimm incident at the village; if it wasn't Grimm though, it would surely be other people who'd stand in the way of her dream. It followed, then, that Polly would need the discipline and skill of a huntress to deal with the future challenges. After thinking on it for a short time, the girl presented the idea of attending Vytal Academy to Cain, who immediately disregarded the notion as being fruitless. Polly persisted though, insisting that the abilities of a huntress would be of benefit to her future interests. Eventually, the weary chef relented and told her he would finance her attendance, providing she promised to pay him back with labor when the time came and if she convinced her parents to agree to the idea. The ladder came much more easily than the former as her mother and father considered it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
When Polly came of age to attend the academy, her parents assisted her in packing her bags and saw her off as she and Cain began their long journey to Vytal Island. The two started off by driving down to a costal town where they took a public transport ship to the island. When they arrived, Cain assured her he had handled payments and paperwork before leaving her with two special gifts—a bank card for shopping and his old weapon, Sweet Tooth.
The next four years followed a pattern; Polly attended the academy for a year, with moderately successful grades, and returned home for summer and help at Cain's Tooth to try and put a dent in her debt. Then, she'd return to the academy and repeat the process. The only really tough part was the social aspect of the first year, which was a given since no one could expect her to understand the cultural differences of people from all over the world. Still, she managed herself well enough for the first four years at the academy. She could only hope for the best for the following four.

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPONS
Sweet Tooth originally belonged to Polly's teacher Chef Cain, which is appropriate enough as the weapon takes the form of an oversized frying pan. The pan itself sits at three feet in diameter while the walls of the pan are just eight inches in length from the pan. The handle appears more like a thin but lengthy pole, reaching at about five feet with bandages wrapping around the end. A metal ring with a four inch diameter tips the very end of the handle and is meant to act as a tiny hammer in case the pan is unusable. The pan itself is meant to act much like a hammer as well, in which the wielder can use to smash or slap the target. Being made mostly of metal, the weapon feels quite heavy and almost always requires both arms to swing (though androids can often prove to be the exception).
The pan of the weapon has nine little slots which are meant to house a red Dust crystal each. Eight of the slots are on the inside of the pan's wall, forming a ring around the pan itself. When a trigger on the pole is pulled, one of eight slots will open up and allow the crystal to fall into the pan. The ninth slot is on the bottom of the pan and, when a button on the pole is pressed, causes the pan to heat up as if it were put through fire. That is, the pan itself will appear bright red and burn to the touch. If one of the eight other crystals falls into the pan at this time, the heat will cause it to become volatile and force it to explode within seconds (requiring the wielder to fling the crystal out of the pan). The heating effect of the ninth crystal is meant to last for no more than thirty or so minutes before the crystal completely dissolves.
If for some reason the pan is unusable or stuck, the wielder can mess with a latch on the bottom of the pan to release the pole. This essentially turns the pole into a staff.
[Sweet Tooth]
MISC.
Polly often carries a pack of three small attached tubes in her back pocket, with each tube carrying a single red Dust crystal. Given how long it takes to reload Sweet Tooth, the crystals are meant more for long journeys in which numerous enemies are abound. However, the crystals can alternatively be used to reload her sidearm: Popcorn. Popcorn is the odd name of a flintlock pistol that Polly carries in a leather holster at her waist. Red Dust crystals form its ammo, which it can fire off for small explosions similar to Sweet Tooth. Unfortunately, the pistol can only hold a single crystal at a time so its more idea for a last resort. Despite how much less use the pistol will see, Popcorn appears much more flashy than Sweet Tooth as Polly has taken the time to have it painted pink.
Polly's aura rarely appears in a visible form, but it takes on the color of pink when it does. More often, however, its smell is what gives away its presence. The smell takes on a different scent for each person, but it will always mimic the smell of the person's favorite food. For instance, if one's favorite food is strawberries, then he or she will pick up the scent of strawberries from Polly's aura. Oddly, Polly is completely unaware of this as the smell effect does not seem to work on herself, though she's come close to figuring it out ever since one of her teachers informed her that she smelled like bacon.
[1] Defensive Enhancement: Some Aura users are capable of enhancing their defensive capabilities, allowing them to effectively "block" some attacks they otherwise would not. This is generally manifested as a "barrier", which forms between the user and an attack at a range similar to that of a normal shield.
FEAST
Feast forms the epitaph to Polly's ambition to feed the hungry by allowing her to turn almost anything into any imaginable food (or drink). A tree could become a bunch of watermelons or a river of water could become a stream of delicious coffee. This semblance can affect anything she sees—aside from people, Grimm, and animals—but her eyes must be directly on the target. When activated, the scent from Polly's aura magnifies and her eye switches to a light a pink. As soon as the object or whatever is turned into food, her eyes and aura return to normal. It should be noted that Polly does not gain any telekinetic powers over the food she creates.
There are a couple of major rules to this semblance though: first, the food or drink must be safely edible; therefore, Polly cannot create something dangerous like rat poison. Second, the object she is using her semblance on must be of similar (but not perfectly equal) volume; thus, she could not turn a desk into a single grape (but she could turn it into a bunch of grapes) or turn a tiny jewel into a cantaloupe. This rule also prevents Polly from creating, for example, a fish that's still alive or bread that's molded. Thirdly, and finally, Polly cannot turn the food back into whatever it once was. It will forever be food until it rots or is eaten.
In terms of cost, Polly must use 5 AP to turn one cubic meter (or less) of her target into food or drink.
