Hey there, Community!
Engram here, posting a late update! Things have been a little hectic on the IRL side of things, but it looks like stuff is finally falling into place, allowing me to stick to the schedule I’ve set for myself and these update posts.
So let’s talk about some of the things happening on TWBTD so far, and what’s planned for the future!
Note: I’ll drop some links at the end of this post to some of the threads mentioned in this post.
Right now, we’re in the middle of taking sign-ups for Episode 2! This is a Vytal exclusive event, open to teachers and staff of the school only (of course, residents of Vytal island will be free to sign up as well, but the majority of said characters are students and teachers, hence the exclusivity) and will see them up against some Grimm whilst defending the work in progress that is Project Water of Life. The characters involved will be getting a first look at just how ruthless the world of Remnant has become in the thousand years since the canon took place, and as with all events will be given the chance to etch their name into site history.
While that’s in progress, we are also in the process of running two side-story events - “A Strange Message From A Strange Messenger” and “Memorandum” - exclusive to Rift and Legion, respectively. These two side events will allow the players involved to flesh out their characters and reflect how the siege of Rift impacted them, as well as give them the opportunity to learn more information about the circumstances behind the disappearance of the princess and the events leading to the assassination attempt on the chairman. While progress for these events might be slow, it’s important for us to consider the impact real life situations have on one’s ability to RP. Keep in mind, however, that this will not save you from the ramifications of missing your post!
Last, but certainly not least, it’s come to our attention that some members are forgetting do date their threads. It’s important that we make sure this becomes common practice so everyone can help everyone contribute to TWBTD’s timeline in an appropriate fashion. Retconning details should not be an issue with the Calendar system, so long as people don’t get themselves involved in too many threads that don’t progress. Remember, apart from the site’s plot, its up to YOU to make your story, but it still has to work alongside the history of the site thus-far. If you think you might have an issue dating threads (such as not knowing when to place them), please review the Calendar System thread
That should wrap it up for this update! Thank you to everyone contributing to the site so far, be it through plot involvement or just doing your own thing - you’re helping build a world that I like to think would make the creators of our little universe proud.
