Bloodthirsty and frightened from the tolling bell, the Grayliches were, but self-destructive and foolish they were not. As the wall rose, they skidded to a halt, stopping before the wall and eyeing it warily. Coming to a conclusion, they split, running around either side.
A Graylich sprang from around either side of the wall, bearing down on Dusty with the frustration of a pair of hounds denied their evening meal. What was more, the forest behind was coming to life with the sounds of pursuit, the Grimm in tow beginning to catch up. The wall had bought Dusty time to think, but that was all; it would be seconds before the Grayliches were upon him, and it was indiscernible how long the forest would take to catch up to the clearing.

When doesn't didn't hear the splat of two Grayliches against his spiked wall, Dusty knew something didn't go according to plan. He had heard them running towards him, so he knew they were still after him. Meaning he only had a few seconds before they were on top of him. He somersaulted away from his wall, smashing another Steam Dust bottle on the ground to further obscure the area. As he came back to his feet, he punched a few buttons on his gauntlet, setting up the next few arrows. He drew the first, a Water arrow, and fired it back at the base of the stone wall, creating a large whirlpool before drawing and firing his second arrow, this time an Energy arrow. Hopefully, the electrified water would at least slow the beasts down. The Huntet-in-training figured that if he got the cabin, then the Grimm would stop chasing him, so slowing down was all he needed.
Dusty stood up and began running back towards the steam cloud. As he did, he drew his third arrow, another Earth arrow, and fired at a spot directly in front of him. A pillar of rock shot out of the ground just as he stepped on the spot. He used the momentum that the rising stone gave him to boost himself high enough to flip over his spiked wall. He landed back on the ground and took off towards the cabin again, the thought of safety and the sounds of more Grimm in the forest around him giving him a boost of energy.
