Dusty nodded in agreement. He really didn't want to be stuck in the infirmary when classes started. He didn't want to fall behind and not many teachers were forgiving of being late, not when they're training to put their lives on the line."Trust me, Mizumi, I can't afford to fall behind in class. Last time I turned in a late assignment in, Professor Rose..." he said, shuddering at the memory. "Never mind about that. Either way, I think I win the bet a lot of guys got going around for most spectacular display that resulted in horrible injury during a year." The young man smiled brightly while gesturing to himself. "Unless someone grows the cahones mock Professor Rose to her face, I've got this in the bag."
"I'll try to," Dusty replied with a sigh. "It's hard to rest when the slightest adjustment sends my chest into the worst pains I've ever felt. And frankly, I think I'm going to count myself out of the kingdom saving business. I don't know why, but I get the feeling..." But Mizumi had already left by then. He watched her talk to the nurses, his eyes gaining a hollowed look behind his glasses. Now that he thought about it, how many lives had he taken when his giant had started stomping around the city? Who wouldn't been seeing their home ever again? And who had he caused grief beyond words?
