It was the first day of break, and Most of the students had either gone home to visit their families, or were relaxing and having fun in their dorm-rooms or in town. However, there was one student who was doing differently.
Opal was not the average student. Not only did she not have any family to return to, but she had trust issues that made making friends... Difficult. In addition, She had a Goal in mind, and felt that she could not stop training, even for one day, if she wanted to complete it.
The Training Field seemed to shake for a second as a explosion seemed to go off. Opal watched as The Fireball exploded a Training Dummy to bits.
She was not satisfied.
Shaking her head, she called up another dummy. "Not big enough. that would never Defeat a Grimm..." She cast another. It hit the target, making the grounds shake once again. She sighed. Not enough.
Heading to the sidelines to eat and let her Aura replenish, she pulled out a package of Fried Chicken. The container had kept it at least somewhat warm for her future consumption.
As she ate, she pulled out her scroll to see what was going on in the world. Not much. just the normal celebrity gossip. Nothing really interesting.
She put her scroll away and concentrated on finishing her food.

Haru walked in the entrance of the training field that had become his home recently, a place to relax and work out. He had decided to avoid going home for break, he wasn’t exactly the closest with his parents so it wasn’t a big deal to go see them. Walking onto the training field he was staring at the ground as usual thinking he was alone as everyone else had seemed to disappear. But as he heard some explosion, he knew he was wrong. Looking up to see a girl who was most likely only a few inches shorter than himself. She was small as well, light weight which fitted the Faunus that he could see. A bird, what kind he wasn’t exactly sure as he didn’t know too much about them.
The girl also seemed to be around his age, but it was hard to tell from a distance, as she seemed to shake her head and down herself. Calling up another Haru watched as she launched another fireball at it, smacking the target and exploding in a ball of flame. It seemed like it was good in strength for someone their age, but the girl seemed to disapprove. Sitting down and eating Haru straightened up from his leaning position and began to walk his way over. As she put away the scroll Haru decided to initiate conversation, not exactly something he was confident in doing.
“The blue and red doesn’t exactly match, might singe off a feather or two one day.” Haru said to the girl jokingly as he sat down a foot away from her too not intrude. He had never been the best at starting a conversation or keeping one for that fact, but practice was the only way to get better of course. Haru looked back at the training field where he was supposed to be slicing targets in half with wind, but instead was talking to someone that may or may not matter down the road.

Opal was on her last piece of Drumstick when a Cat Faunus of some sort sat next to her, and tried to make a joke. Lowering the Drumstick, she stared at him with a rather unamused look on her face. "... Is that a insult? I'm not stupid enough to use one of those on myself." She quickly finished her drumstick, and packed everything up.
Standing up, she looked at the cat-boy. "Now, I'm going to get back to practicing. And unless you want to be the target Dummy, I would either shut up and watch, or go to another part of the field and do your own training." That said, she walked back to a corner of the field, and called several more Targets, before pulling her Hook-Glaive, Bellonis, off her back, and going to town.
She slashed at one right next to her, before spinning around and slashing one behind her in half in the same motion. She spun in the direction of one of the further away dummies as she pressed a button on the shaft of Bellonis, launching the hook at it. the hook impaled the Dummy before she retracted it, pulling it with the hook, and as she did so, cast a small 'Fire Wall' in the space between them. as the wall of fire lit up, the dummy flew through it, catching on fire, as she unhooked it and cast 'quicksand' under where it was falling.
As the quicksand swallowed up the third dummy, she turned to the 4th and final one, and cast 'Air Slash' at it, cutting it in half. The entire 'fight' took at most 20 seconds. She stood there panting a bit. That took a good chunk of her Aura reserves, even after replenishing it a bit with her break. She wasn't sure she could do anymore for the moment, so she looked to see what the cat-boy was doing.

Haru was rather confused by the girls reaction to his statement. He thought it was funny, but he must have been wrong considering the reaction of the girl who just threatened him. Haru was not exactly one to back down from a fight, it was something that he had grown up doing, However Haru didn’t exactly want to fight the girl, it seemed like the wrong kind of reaction to the situation. Haru watched as the girl walked back over to the training dummies and began to destroy them, either she was trying impress Haru and scare him off, Or she was taking out the anger that she had out on the dummies, something Haru couldn’t exactly figure out.
He walked closer to the girl looking at a set of dummies as the girl finished, Haru figured the best course of action right now would be to train instead of continue further interaction. He saw some rocks on the ground next to him, picking up 4 fairly large sized rocks he juggled them in the air as he looked at the girl, seeing her slightly tired from her show.
Haru threw the rocks up a foot above his head before using his manipulation of wind to change the directions and force the rocks were going, instead of going up he launched them at the training dummies increasing the force greatly. He watched as the rocks slammed through the dummies heads creating a hole relative to the rocks size. Haru took a deep breath as he felt some energy being dispelled, but he wasn’t going to show it in the slightest. He only wondered what the girl next to him would think, it was not nearly as flashy as her own attack had been but it had gotten the job done. Haru hoped the girl didn’t think he was trying to show her up, after all she had told him to go train and he was indeed doing such.

While Opal recharged for a minute, she watched the catboy. As she watched, she saw the signs of Dustcasting. Dustcasting is a somewhat rare skill... wonder where he learned it from...? She walked over to him after he was done. Her tone slightly curious, but still guarded, she stated the question. "That is a rather rare skill you were using there... where did you learn to Dustcast?"
After a moment, she realized they hadn't introduced themselves. Giving her name wouldn't hurt, and it might make him more inclined to answer. "My name is Opal. Opal Uran. You are?"

The girl approached him after his show of slight skill, more that it was a simple requirement of energy given the length of training he had in order to learn it and use it well. The girl asked him a simple wuestion before deciding to introduce herself, at the least the conversation began to progress more civil like. "Im Haru, nice to meet yuo opal, as for the dustcasting it doesnt seem too rare." Haru said this whit a slight smile, both of them seemed to know it, the chances. "My parents self defense, once i was better than them i left and learned from a scholar who taught me. How about you?"
Haru had wondered how the girl learned her skills himself, she wasnt wrong in that most people didnt know how, so it was kind of rare to know even a couple of casts.

Opal nodded. "I taught myself, from the books my parent's left behind. You'd be amazed what you could learn from old, dusty tomes." She double checked her Aura levels on her scroll. They were about at the point where she should stop for the day. "Well, seems my Aura is a bit low now. I'm going back. Perhaps we shall meet again." She gave him a two finger salute as she turned around and began to walk away. She had a bit of respect for him now, for not many could figure out how to Dustcast, considering how different it was from the normal uses of Aura and Dust.
If Haru wanted, he might be able to convince her to stick around.

As Opal told Haru how she had taught herself to cast with dust Haru was truly amazed, although she seemed to be self trained her skills were still great. At least Haru had a teacher who taught him to harness dust and manipulate it, Opal on the other hand had probably spent hundreds of hours reading and practicing in her own figuring it out, Haru couldn’t imagine try to do such a thing. The girl in front of him quickly decided to end their meeting saying her aura was low and she should return, of course Haru was generally alone and he had grown used to it, but it didn’t mean he preferred it. Opal seemed nicer than when she first spoke to him, maybe it was a possible newfound friendship brewing.
As Opal had turned around and began to walk around Haru decided to make an attempt at keeping their meeting going. Haru spoke up as he pulled out his wallet, his parents having sent him another influx of money to spend on himself "you know, i got a couple extra dollars, could i entertain you into an ice cream, maybe a friendly conversation" Haru hoped his plan would work, offer up a treat and an innocent conversation it could work. "You know its mot often someone offers up free food" Haru finished with a smile hoping she would agree.
