----- Never stop Running ----- tag: --- // words: --- // notes: --- Lily saw her opponent dodge out of the way moments before she would have impacted him, and tried to think of some way to alter her trajectory in order to hit him, however she lacked either the tools, or the mastery over her current equipment to do so. She accepted that this attack was a failure, and began scanning to see how she might enact a follow up attack. However, any plans she might have formulated in that short fall ceased the moment that she landed.
Lily was an experienced fighter, but had been adding new tools to her arsenal that she was less familiar with. Dust had been a fairly new skill, and she was still inexperienced both in it's use, and knowledge of it's capabilities. So when she landed, she didn't expect to sink so far into the sand. She hadn't had any experience using gravity dust on the sand, so she didn't anticipate the interaction between her gravity altered state and the sand below. Had she been aware, perhaps she could have used another charge of her gravity dust to decrease her weight once more, but by the time she realized her mistake she was already ankle deep in rapidly solidifying sand. She struggled against the concrete prison she found herself in, but to little effect. She knew that she was wide open, but there was little she could do about it. Her opponent would capitalize on this moment of weakness as well. Bullet after bullet slammed into her as her opponent emptied a clip, in desperation she was forced to launch into her semblance again.
She focused her aura into her claws, and began jamming it into the concrete. Over and over again, she chiseled away the stone, sending stone flying. When her semblance was about through the run out of time, she plucked the stone chips out of the air and began throwing them Jeremy's way.
The chunks of rock were hardly aerodynamic though, so she had no idea whether or not the stone chunks being thrown at mach 4 speeds would hit their mark or not. She hoped that they would at least slow her opponent down and give him something to think about.
When the dust settled she was free, but bleeding. Her semblance use was wearing her down. The fact that she'd been able to absorb most of her opponent clip was nothing short of miraculous. A few bullets had been knocked out of the air by Lily's thrown concrete, but most had hit their mark. She spat out a globule of spit, red from the blood in her mouth, and stared her opponent down.
"I won't be stopped here! I won't lose!" She gritted her teeth, watching for any impending attack and preparing to launch into her semblance state again in order to gain the upper hand. Once her opponent had invested himself in his next attack, she could use her speed to outmaneuver him, and then her semblance to hopefully finish this. By her own reckoning, she had two more uses of her semblance available to her after that nasty attack her opponent had just launched. After that, it'd come down to who could stick it out the longest. She would have to be more conservative from this point forward. Lily wouldn't let herself lose though.
She had survived in the wilderness for three years. She had managed to live despite everything that had happened to her. She wouldn't let this tournament beat her if the wilderness could not. She would show everybody the proof of her hardship, the strength she had won through tears, sweat, and blood. She would show the world that she was storng enough now to protect the people that mattered to her. To protect everyone.

Success in a strategy was actually a very unfamiliar reaction to his attempts at putting a plan in motion, though he had to admit he thoroughly enjoyed the end result. His opponent was quite well stuck and his gun fire seemed to find it's mark, though such a sensation was of course only meant to be short lived. He felt it again, his back tattoo seeming to flare up, activating without his beckoning, though this time he was ready for it. He knew it was an indication of her using her semblance, and whatever had happened to her aura reacted very unfavourably with his own semblance. With a herculean display of raw will, he kept his semblance from activating, keeping a tight lid on his aura. Small whiffs of black and red energy smoked off him, though his face remained resolute and unmoved as his opponent vanished for the briefest of moments. If this tournament served no other purpose than for him to practice his control over his semblance, he would just be thankful for the practice and the proof that he could keep his monster in a cage. He felt the solid collision of small pieces of rubble against his stone clad arm as well as his left leg. The rocky covering stood up pretty well, he'd likely bruise pretty badly, but would be none the worse for wear otherwise. His leg didn't enjoy being his with a supersonic chunk of rubble, but honestly the pain was lost in the background noise of his other wounds. The advantage of having her locked in stone was unfortunately fleeting as she was now freed, though she wasn't coming at him just yet and he needed to take advantage of that. He picked up the second Estoques and fired off the last three shots in quick succession as he rose to his feet. While his left was firing his right dropped the empty mag and he quick loaded from the pouch on his belt, bringing the right weapon forward, firing off three more rounds while he reloaded his left gun. She was shouting something at him about not losing, but he couldn't make it out fully over the sound of his gun-fire. She had to use her semblance to get free, her aura must be very low by now. He thought as he brought both weapons to bare, firing off another three rounds, running quickly to be in closer range with her. He wanted to be as close to the centre of the ring as possible, and while she did out-class him in hand to hand combat, if he could get in a concise and tactical use of his tattoos, he may still be able to pull this off. Maybe I should use my semblance to coat my torso, protect myself from whatever she could pull off in her semblance... He thought, though quickly decided against it. He had enough aura for four or five more uses of his tattoos, but likely less than four minutes of his semblance activated in the more 'controlled' version he had available to him. Not to mention that the risk of his semblance accidentally taking over was unusually high with Lily in the ring. He would much rather face a supersonic series of vicious claw attacks than gamble that delicate balance. So, back to just surviving. Estoques – 6 magazines total – 10 rounds each 26/60 rounds shot Tattoos: Earth – 2 tattoos – 3 & 5 charges Glass – 2 tattoos – 4 charges each Fire – 1 tattoo – 0 charges Gravity – 1 tattoo – 0 charges Seal Tattoo – 1 uses lilywilde

----- Never stop Running ----- tag: --- // words: --- // notes: --- Lily was bleeding, and losing energy quick. She didn't know how much more damage she could take before the tournament officials would call the fight. That was an eventuality that Lily could not, would not allow for. At his first volley of three shots, Lily dodged to the right. A single bullet clipped her shoulder. Lily was feeling sluggish. She was still much faster than the average person, but she could feel her limbs begging her for a break. Her whole body cried out for rest, but she could not give her aching muscles what they craved. Not yet anyway. She would have to finish this as soon as possible.
After recovering from the ding, Lily entered her semblance one final time. As she ran towards her opponent, one hand fumbled through a pouch, feeling for the cool to the touch crystal of dust. When her hand clasped upon it, she clutched it firmly in her right hand.
A she approached Jeremy, she held that same right hand out to her side, clothslining the poor boy's gut in an attempt to take him off of his feet. She didn't stop her semblance immediately, letting the full momentum of her mach four speeds carry into his body. Just before she exited her semblance, she let the cool crystaline lily of ice dust fly free. It soared past the still falling spent ammunition magazine and collided with the ground just behind him. As the icy energies impacted the tournament floor, a sheet of ice spread across the ground behind them. Coating the arena, and some of the walls beyond with a slippery smooth ice hazard. Lily pumped some of her remaining aura into her left hand as she did this, and shot her claws into the ground below her, attempting to safeguard herself from sliding out of the ring with her opponent, if he weren't able to prevent his own slippery ejection from the fighting ring.
She was hopeful that her attack against his midsection would knock the air out of him, preventing him from recovering in time to stop his slide out of the ring, but the boy had shown remarkable durability so far in this fight. Still, she was used to fighting opponents who kept getting back up. Her practice with Aegle had shown her just how determined an opposing fighter might really be. It was practice that Lily was thankful for. The amount of abuse that Jeremy had endured was incredible to say the least. Lily had wondered at points whether her attacks were even being acknowledged by her surprisingly sturdy opponent.

Jeremy had to admit, he wasn't expecting Lily to use her semblance again. True, it was likely her mightiest weapon and arguably the fastest way to end the fight, but it was clearly draining. He had managed to survive all of the other uses of her semblance, his own damage not withstanding, her speed had so far not won the bout. For the fact that the cost was so high and the result so unpredictable, he would have thought perhaps she would aim for less aura intensive alternatives. So, he was surprised when she vanished again and in the next moment felt a tremendous force impact his torso. If he hadn't been too nervous to eat before the fight, he may have lost his lunch from the blow to the gut thought that was the least of his concerns. He could feel his semblance welling from the strange effect that Lily seemed to have on his back tattoo, and he didn't feel particularly confident in his ability to keep it down. The first time, he had a lot of aura, he wasn't tired, it took a lot of effort but he was in good enough condition to keep his monsters at bay. The second time, he was prepared for it, he expected it and he was halfway across the ring from Lily. This time he was tired, he was hurt, and his aura was nearly gone.
He knew that his semblance was going to take full form, it was something he couldn't fight against, like having the floor pulled out from under you. He was going to fall, he just hoped he could limit how far down the hole went. He put as much aura as he could into his remaining tattoos, glass and stone flung in whichever direction as his feet left the ground, propelled by Lily's attack. He needed to get rid of his aura, dump what he had as quickly as he could, maybe the Ignoble Shroud would starve before it hurt anybody. He didn't know if he was successful or not, he hoped he had done enough, but the strangely welcoming dreamless sleep of his semblance took him. As Jeremy began to fly backwards at breakneck speeds, it almost seemed as if a massive black shadow caught him and brought him to a sudden and decisive stop. What was initially a formless swirl of inky darkness began to strike out with a definite shape, massive vein wrapped muscles over arms that ached with the weight of the muscle on them. Wickedly sharp, curved horns adorned the top of a white masked head which began to rear back in blood drying roar that seemed to fling the discarded rubble from the ring with the sound alone. Jeremy had travelled maybe all of a metre before the Ignoble Shrouds' bulk had stopped him, it's massive hoofed feet breaking through the ice as if it were thin glass and digging into the arena floor as if soft mud. Within the beat of a twisted heart, Jeremy had been replaced by a ten foot tall, void black skinned monolith of muscle and anger.
The Ignoble Shroud raised it's arms high and brought them down with enough force to crack the ring in half, shattering it's foundation and sending stone flying into the air. It seemed to only take notice of Lily at that moment, raising a great, clawed hand up into the air fast enough to banish the cloud of dust that had risen from the ring being crushed so. The claws came down with similar swiftness, showing great speed beyond what one would assume from such bulk, though thankfully it had not been fast enough to strike in time. Instead of bringing down three razor sharp talons, the hand burst into a formless cloud of sickeningly black aura. The shroud let out another roar, though this one of an animal clearly about to die, and with only anger to express its dismay. It thrashed as it fell to the ground, great chunks of the beast falling away and dissipating into nothingness as it tried half heartedly to crawl and claw at Lily. Finally it stopped, what was left of it collapsing to the ground, evapourating away to reveal an unconscious, heavily scarred and bleeding young bull faunus huddled in the fetal position. Anybody who cared to look at the display screens would see his aura completely spent, Jeremy was now fully out of the fight.
