November 13th
Amanda Verune was sitting on the couch in her house's living room eating Mizumi's Ice Cream and watching TV. It would seem her Roommates, Dusty (Who she lovingly called Ty) and Mizumi (Who she just as Lovingly called MiMi) Had Forgotten her Birthday. Ty Had a excuse. He was in the Hospital after the shenanigans in Rift a few days ago. MiMi Didn't. She Was Visiting Dusty, which she had been doing near constantly since Ty got hurt. Didn't she know Ama needed someone to Talk to?! At least MiMi still HAD her Partner!
Thus, Ama was getting her revenge by eating all of MiMi's Ice Cream. It helped her deal with not only having lost her Partner a few days ago in that damn Siege that wasn't a siege, but the fact everyone forgot her Birthday because of it!
She sighed. Hopefully she got a new partner soon, and they were just as fun as the last. In the meantime... Time for Ice Cream of Depression and Revenge!

Lavender was still working through paperwork for the transfer of one Chrohn Van Strauss, working on getting him a new partner. After all, his old partner was now a year ahead of him and she was working on getting him a new partner as well. Even still, one of her sophomores had broken her cardinal rule and gone out to fight a battle on their own and died. Stupid kids, this was why she tried to convince them not to go out and fight alone. The world was a dangerous place, and now she had a student who had just lost not only a friend but an ally. Not only this, but she also happened to be roommates with Dusty Ghrian and Mizumi Tai, one of which also went out on his own and almost got himself killed in The Siege. However, she was a sophomore, and was now lacking a partner. This meant that she and Chrohn, both with one year of training and both without partners, were in the perfect situation to suddenly acquire the other as a teammate. So Lavender had sent Chrohn a message on his scroll, simply telling him to meet her outside of this Amanda Verune's room. She kept tabs on all her students, and knew that Ama was in her room alone and that Mizumi and Dusty were currently in the hospital. She also knew it was Ama's birthday, something she personally didn't care about but knew that the fact her roommates were off in the hospital while she had recently lost a good friend, and it was her birthday, which couldn't have been comforting. Lavender had arrived early to the room, and was currently resting upon the wall next to her door waiting for Chrohn to arrive. When he arrived, then she would knock on the door to acquire the current inhabitant's attention. It was never good to mope alone, it lead to pent up feelings and lessened battlefield effectiveness.

It had been three days since Chrohn had first set foot on Vytal. And while other things did need to be done, Chrohn had needed a weapon to start.
It was now that he was soaring through the island town, rushing by people wearing simple clothing that was not too terribly loose. Specifically a yellow tank top, black cargo shorts, heat resistant gloves and old fashioned work boots, all of which was smudged with burn marks and oil. It turns out, upon arrival, that his clothes weren't really Workshop safe, so the project overseers ended up tossing some extra clothing his way. Chrohn wasn't in the best of moods, but he acknowledged it was no one's fault but his own. "Dammit!" he muttered angrily. "How come the only thing that doesn't wanna work is the sword's blasted chip reader." He was happy with his progress made, but upset with how he didn't know how to do most of the stuff that his sword required. It was nice that people offered to help. It was just the pride degrading notion of asking someone else for help on a project meant entirely for oneself.
Chrohn was flustered, and aggravated. Now if he wasn't about ten feet off the ground and flying at sixty miles per hour, he surely felt that he would want to go stomp off, flip stuff and such. Regrettably. this was not a socially acceptably behavior for one of Chrohn's age. Luckily it was around this time that he received a text from Professor Rose. It allowed Chrohn to escape, think and explore all at the same time. Well, there was also meeting some chick he'd never met before. Chrohn didn't really have much else to say as he rode along to the destination point, eventually hopping off a few feet before the building where he was meeting Lavender at.
As he approached, Lavender opened the door, and he saw a lone girl going to town on a tub of ice cream.

Ama had her eyes glued to the TV, which was playing a movie about a Virus that turned people into Grimm. "Don't open the door bro, never goes well!" She commented as she started raising a spoonful of Ice Cream to her mouth.
Next thing she knew she heard the front door slam open and she was blind, something sweet tasting covering her face.
Flailing on the floor with the tub of Ice Cream covering her face as she gave a yelp, she called out "Sorry MiMi, but I gotta defend your waistline! Gotta look your best for Ty! Ice Cream does NOT Help!"
It seemed she thought that they were someone completely different.

Lavender watched as the student within flung ice cream into her face, then attempted to explain herself to her roommate. "I assure you Amanda, I care not for your personal issues nor the waistline of your friend. I come bearing news, we have acquired a new sophomore who requires a teammate. Due to the unfortunate events that have recently occurred, there are many people now missing teammates. While I was sorting through them, I recruited this one, and you were next on the list." Her words began with a bemused tone, delving into much more serious notes as she continued speaking. Then she gestured to Chrohn, then back to Ama. "Chrohn, this is Amanda Verune, Amanda this is Chrohn Van Strauss. He decided to take a year off from training, so do be sure to keep him up to speed would you?" She smiled her strange, cold smile and stepped out of the room, looking back and speaking in an amused voice again. "I shall leave the two of you to get acquainted. You will be fighting and living together for another few years, and I trust you will not cause excess trouble. Your other two roommates are currently in the hospital, when they return I leave the introductions to you, Amanda." With that Lavender walked away and began strutting back to her office. She still had quite a bit of paperwork to do, not all of it relating to Chrohn, but paperwork nonetheless. She also had a few more students to berate for breaking rule number one and losing their battles in The Siege. Of course, there were a few of her students who had won there fights, not all of them fighting for Legion, and she could only fault the ones that lost their singular battles. The battle was never going to be decided by the students, they were far outmatched by the soldiers and hunters on either side, but she still held them to the standard of winning their own fights. If she didn't, well they'd start thinking losing was okay, and then they would die in the field. Something Lavender refused to let happen more than it had to.

So my partner wears tubs of ice cream in self defense, Chrohn throught. It seems I'm stuck with a weird one, he thought as he sighed quietly. In reality, Chrohn was excited but also scared. This was a new person, which was so terrifying. What if, while they were partners, they had no ability to be in sync with each other. Or if she hated him, or vice versa. Although the latter was most likely an impossibility as Chrohn didn't really hate anyone, though he was fairly upset with Legion at the moment.
As the professor left, he plopped onto the floor next to the couch, setting his hoverboard to his left, as the couch was to his right.
Usually he would sit on the couch, but with his oil on the clothes, and Amanda's ice cream on the couch, it would only make the job of cleaning the couch later on tougher. The movie that she was watching was familiar. "Hey, you know if you're gonna watch George A. Grimmero's stuff, you might wanna watch the classics over the remakes. This version of "The Night of the Living Grimm" is nothing compared to the original. Well, I mean, the visuals clearly surpass the original, but the original connects all of the events in the movie a lot better in my opinion." He was moreso curious as to why she was eating ice cream that belonged to someone else, for the purpose of saving their waistline. It was a nice gesture, but self sacrifice can only go so far before it becomes inhumane.
He stuck his hand out for a handshake as he said, with a slight tone of nervousness in his voice, "As Lavender told you just now, I'm Chrohn. I'm looking forward to being your partner, and hopefully I don't hold you back too much!"

Ama sat up as Lavender was speaking, the Tub of Ice Cream falling off her face and to the ground with a popping, sticky noise. "... Oh." She said, blinking.
As Lavender explained the situation, Ama Jumped up and flew into Chrom, Pulling him into a rather sticky Hug. "Best. Birthday Present. EVER!" She said excitedly, rubbing her sticky cheek against Chrom's almost like a cat... or a Kid. "Don't worry Professor Rose, I'll take good care of him!" She said excitedly... almost like she was getting a new Puppy for Christmas.
As Lavender left the house, she released Chrom and picked up the tub of Ice Cream... which had somehow landed on it's base, perfectly fine. "So... Ice Cream?" She offered, holding the Tub out to Chrom.
She looked at the movie she was wathing. "The Classic is good, but this has better explosions! Explosions are ALWAYS Fun!" She said, waving her arms dramatically, almost throwing the Tub that was still in hand. "Anyways, I'm Ama. I'll just call you Vanny!" She said with a laugh. They were gonna have so much fun!

After he had spoke, Chrohn realized two things: One, it was his new partner's birthday and apparently he was the present. Two, his partner was overtly eccentric, more so than he, and had her face sticking to his. The latter fact of the second statement is what made Chrohn nervous.
Growing up, Chrohn grew up to the equivalent of absentee parents. His father always working, and his mother simply not giving a shit. Needless to say, the only people who he ever really received affection from was his grandparents who had died a few years back due to illness. To sum it up precisely, Chrohn was not hugged much as a child, and he had never ever been this close to a female his age before. There was also the fact that her boobs were pressing up against his arm, yet another first for the stargazer at hand.
At the offer of ice cream, he pondered and quickly decided to decline, after all it was all over her face earlier. "No thanks, I already have enough on my face," he chuckled. He was nervous, though now because of a different reason. I'm terrified. I hope the other two aren't like this or I may be in my very own, especially made hell. And then the girl who would go on to informally introduce herself as Ama, started to get excited over the talk of explosions and ended up getting more ice cream on Chrohn. Oh thank god milk washes out...and the fact that this isn't my shirt. Unknown to Chrohn, that was to become his shirt in time.
"Well hello there Ama, I'm Chrohn...er uh...I guess Vanny now. Crow could work as well," The young, ice cream covered man said trailing off as he spoke. I really hope she doesn't watch me while I sleep or sneak into bed with me. He shivered at the thought. It wasn't that the girl wasn't attractive, he just had no idea that he was being partnered up with a privacy invading ball of pure energy, and one thing that Chrohn remembered about energy was that it was fairly chaotic.
"So...uh Ama...why don't we talk a bit about ourselves since we are total strangers," He suggested after scooting back a foot or two from the excitable woman armed with ice cream.

"Suit youself. More for me then! Yay!" Ama said as he declined her mighty generous offer of someone else's Ice Cream. She scooped out the last few scoops before running into the kitchen and coming back with another Tub.
"So, anyways, I like Watching Movies, hanging with friends, Eating Sweets, ..." Apparently she thought he couldn't tell from the fact she had just finished demolishing one Tub of Ice cream and was already a quarter of the way through a second. "...Video Games, Weapons, Explosions, Breaking Legs and Kicking Grimm Ass!" She said the last four with a extremely strange excitement, more than her normal Excited tone.
"So, want a tour of the place? Ty and MiMi won't be home for a while. They're kinda a thing, though they refuse to admit it!" She finished she said this last part with a cheeky grin, as if she was a little kid purposely annoying their Mom.

He listened as Ama spoke. It seems for someone so unusual, she has seemingly normal ta.....there it is. As Amanda listed off the last four items of her list, she briefly received a blank stare from her new partner. So I must conclude she is either a foul mouthed four year old, a psychopath, or potentially both. I've never seen anyone this openly excited about incredibly violent topics before. This was coming from a man who had forgotten how different his battlefield persona was from his social persona, not to say it was a total flip, but stark changes did exist between the two.
"I see, so you are easily excited," he said quietly, almost absently. However, this wasn't aimed to mock her, it just came out. Chrohn hadn't really realized it, so he had made no attempt to potentially clarify his statement. His mind was elsewhere, not that Ama wasn't amusing, but because of the fact that his weapon was currently at the top of his mind now. That damned chip reader, I'm gonna fix you...if only because you are pissing me off...though I do need to know if the vents are working properly, BUT I CAN'T UNTIL THAT FUCKING READER GETS FIXED, BECAUSE IT WON'T REGISTER ANY OF THE FUCKING CHIPS. Chrohn was flustered but it didn't show. Now hoping to calm himself a little, he swapped his attention back to his new partner.
"Sure, i'll take a tour of the place, though I have no idea who these Ty and Mimi people are." And then an idea dawned on him, or at least was starting to dawn on him, though his mental forecast said cloudy. What if I take her out for her birthday, I mean yeah she's a weirdo, but people shouldn't be alone, couped up in their house on their birthday. I'll probably bring it up later.
