Thanatos has lime green eyes akin to that of a viscous poison that peer through the light silver bangs of his thick tousled hair, his ears barely poked through his hair unlike his bunny ears that sprout up and droop down due to his sullen outlook on his own life. Three symmetrical scars cover his right eye from a disaster that plagues him. His nose is slim and close to his face along with a slight gauntness to the rest of his facial features, unlike that of his hair his eyebrows are thin and dark. his shoulders are broad, abnormally so for one with such a thin torso, standing 6' tall he wears a fitted vest over a fencer's blouse that hangs from his slim body accompanied by a black bow tie and a belt that encases his rapier, a simple blade with gilded vines embroidered into the black leather hilt and etched into the silvery guard and sweepings. The blade is dark iron, tempered to look like obsidian, a premature gift from his late father and mother. He wears tall matte black boots that have silver trimmings and hides a small pistol in the left boot. a dried red rose pokes out from the breast pocket of his silky light green vest. His black chinos are not as tight and tucked in to his boots, similar to the fencing blouse beneath his vest giving the young fencer room to move when he engages in combat.

Thanatos was born to a human mother, Alyx, and Faunus father, Galath, who had the ears of a rabbit, his father was an amazing huntsman and his mother was nothing more than a loving and supportive stay at home mom, both who only wanted for him to live a fulfilled life. He grew up on the Aldemier's private estate, the wealth of his family providing for his every need, but he was too young to ever take advantage of such wealth. Early on around the age of five he understood the occupation of his father and learned to crave that same adventure, on his fathers off weeks he took time training the young Faunus. Thanatos had learned of aura and semblance and craved that awesome power, he studied and trained for the next two years, seeking to unlock the powers within him.
One fateful day he was training with his father in the woods just outside of the estate when his powers had manifested in the worst possible way, he was heartbroken that in his studies the only thing that would improve were his sword play. In his despair he had unknowingly attracted a Barghest to where he and his father were sparring and his mother was spectating, and while his father was teaching him the creature attacked. It only took a moment for the soulless creature to kill his defenseless mother, he cried out and his father slayed the beast, tears filling the twos eyes. In his grief and rage Thanatos had activated his semblance, unknowingly reanimating the Barghest, his emotions in turmoil and no control over the beast, it lashed out and struck his father down and cut him across the eye with three of its claws, he acted in defense and killed the monster. Now an orphan he turned to his aunt for help, she was a blacksmith that continued to raise and train him, along with his skills in combat he picked up some simple things like cooking and tailoring, creating his outfits and other items.
Thanatos continued to train with his fathers sword while attending a little known school just outside of the Aldemir estates under the tutelage of his aunt. While the loss of their family members weighed heavily on both of them his aunt was not unfamiliar to losing loved ones, four years prior she had been widowed only a few weeks after her marriage. Being that she lost her husband so fast she never got the chance to bear a child, she cared for him as if he were her son with the devoted caring of his mother and the tenacious loving of his father. It wasn't long before he had realized what had brought out his semblance and began suppressing his emotions to keep himself in check. Thanatos trained vigilantly and constantly to learn how to control the reanimated Grimm, starting of with that of small Grimm and as he aged moving on to larger, more powerful monsters. His aunt watched him as he trained and worried about his drive and devotion to gaining control over his power, fearing that he would destroy the once kind personality that had lived within the boy, his voice became monotonous, almost lifeless. However time and time again he proved her wrong by continually making friends within the small academy near the estate.
On his 15 birthday he was presented with his current rapier as a graduation present for when he would finally move on to Vytal. He was overcome with the emotions he tried so desperately to suppress, when he looked into the reflection of the blade he felt like it was a window to see his parents. The blade was of custom make, ordered by his father for him as a present for his birthday, he immediately fell in love with the dark and beguiling blade, naming it Contrition, it forever stands as a reminder of the power he can hardly control and the day he lost the two most important people in his life.

Thanatos' rapier, Contrition, is a traditional rapier that has no special augments like a projectile weapon or dust conduction. it has a dark metal blade akin to Obsidian, its pommel is wrapped in black leather that is decorated with gilded leaves. The silvery guard and sweepings are trimmed with intricate gold leaves and patterns.

Thanatos always has two vials of dust for emergencies one of fire and water, he also keeps a small pistol in his boot in case of a disarmament, or he loses control of a reanimated Grimm. He also carries in his pocket a collapsible tool similar to that of a Swiss army knife he uses to prepare food, with a few vials of spices and such.
Thanatos' aura is black and causes his eyes to glow, even though its color is cold and dark it gives off a warm and almost revitalizing feeling, smelling that of a burning fire. He can use his Aura for defensive enhancements.
RE-ANIMATION
Thanatos can reanimate one Grimm, the instant he brings said grim back his Aura will glow shortly and cause his eyes to glow, The reanimated Grimm's red markings will turn a lime green. He has full control over the Grimm as long as he has aura to sustain it and is concentrated on the mental link. It takes 25 aura to reanimate and 5 every ten to keep it under control. Once he loses control of the beast will return to its destructive state, which is why he has to put them down.
