ARA EISOLD |
★ APPEARANCE
Despite being from the desert Kingdom of Setek, Ara shares more appearance traits with people from Legion - particularly her light shade of hair and pale skin. Standing approximately 5’4” (165cm), she shares a thin figure that is commonplace in her family. Her blue hair extends almost to the center of her back, and a single braid crosses the crown of her head. Of peculiar note are her silver-colored eyes, a rarity among the populace of Remnant.
Ara’s uniform, kept to a standard laid out by the school (but kept by very few), is mostly black and accented with blue - consisting of a blazer and skirt. She wears a formal white, long-sleeved blouse beneath her blazer and a matching white petticoat beneath the skirt, both of which appear to be ruffled by design. She wears several small accessories with her outfit: black shoes, thigh-high stockings, and a pale blue bow standing out more than the rest.
Most of the time, Ara can be seen wearing a black diamond-imprinted choker. Some speculate it covers a scar or other imperfection that she’d prefer is hidden from the rest of the world.

★ PERSONALITY
★ HISTORY
Ara Eisold is the eldest child of the Eisold House, an aristocratic family hailing from the Kingdom of Setek. Though not of world renown, the family is known locally for their lumber business, which created many jobs for the people of the Kingdom. Thanks to this, Ara enjoyed an upbringing of extreme privilege, attributing to the snobbish demeanor she currently displays to her peers at Vytal Academy. She often wonders how, if at all, different she’d be if the circumstances of her upbringing had been jut a little bit different.
In truth, Ara never really wanted to learn to be a Huntress. She preferred her vanity-filled lifestyle, enjoying the lavishness that came with it. Her tune changed, however, upon entering the mandatory undergraduate courses at Vytal Academy. Learning the power of Aura, and all its capabilities, stirred an ever growing wanderlust within. Perhaps, she thought at the time, being a Huntress wouldn’t be so bad. Traveling around the world was one thing, but earning fame through fighting monsters was one of the coolest sounding professions she had ever heard.
This became her motivation: the pursuit of fame and power.
Following her completion of undergraduate courses at the Academy, Ara hastily signed up for the four year Hunter Program, citing her fascination with Grimm and her desire to see the world as her primary reasons for joining. Regardless of where her time at the school took her, she saw two potential options following the completion of her classes - she would either become a researcher, as many great Hunters had, or she would simply hunt. Either way, she would be able to fulfill her goals of power and fame.
Towards the end of her first year, Ara was handed down the hilt of the family sword - Occam. It would be her duty to forge her own blade, a task that proved far more difficult than she initially imagined. Many in the family used curved blades, but Ara found the design crude and uncomfortable. Instead, she crafted the weapon into a rapier, utilizing her speed and dexterity, as well as her knack for quick movements. It would be the perfect weapon for her, able to make quick work of some of the lesser Grimm species, and would serve as her sword from then.
Kaleidoscope, her Semblance, was finally discovered during the summer before Sophomore Year. It was a simple day, with Ara performing standard drills as part of her training routine. A brief moment of inattentiveness caused her to fall, and upon trying to catch herself, she lifted the earth towards her to catch her. It was a terrifying experience at the time, but Ara eventually learned to control it through various means, choosing the name “Kaleidoscope” because of its ability to manipulate several elements.
Ara is now attending her Sophomore Year of Vytal Academy, and looks forward to building her skills beyond the norm.

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPON: Occam
The Eisold family weapon of choice, passed down from one generation to the next, is the rapier known as Occam. Each person in the family has their own variation of the weapon, with the current generation’s wielder possessing the hilt of the original sword. Ara was gifted the original hilt on her thirteenth birthday, the year she began undergraduate courses at Vytal Academy. In overall length, Occam is about fifty-six inches, with the blade itself accounting for forty-eight inches of length.
Occam’s original hilt is crafted from a lightweight metal alloy and coated with various leather bits for grip. In color, the leather is dyed a slight teal whilst the metal portions appear jade in color. Some parts, accented with silver or embedded with blue jewels, accessorize the sword to give it what’s called the “Eisold flair”. The blade was handcrafted by Ara prior to attending her first year at Vytal Academy, and is created from a strong, sharp glass similar to obsidian. As a result, her variation of Occam is remarkably sharp, cleaving through lesser species of Grimm with relative ease.
Ara has demonstrated the ability to use Occam with deadly accuracy, utilizing her figure and fighting style to deliver fast and precise attacks before dashing away from her enemy. Occam is also capable of acting as a conduit for Ara’s Semblance, Kaleidoscope, allowing her to take advantage of the elements to display a jarring array of attacks with the sword. Overall, the Eisold weapon lives up to the fame and infamy that it has slowly built up over time - applying such renown to Ara as its wielder.
MISC.
Ara carries a Water Dust pendant at all times, and on occasion may carry Crystals of other types as well.
Ara’s Aura manifests itself in a dull glow, taking a color similar to her hair. She is about as trained as anyone else her age could possibly be, paying great attention to courses regarding Aura use in efforts to maximize her own capabilities. Particular focus was put towards her Offensive and Defensive Enhancement skills, believing them to be primary for her method of combat. While active, her Aura gives off the feeling of a sharp winter breeze, and has been noted to make people feel breathless.
KALEIDOSCOPE
At it’s very core, Kaleidoscope is - in Ara’s words - complete mastery over the four primary elements of Remnant. The elements that usually require one to harness Dust are instead manipulated through her Aura, allowing her to utilize them in her attacks. From manipulating bodies of water, to manifesting pillars of earth, there is very little Ara is not capable of when compared to a Dustcaster. She favors the element of water, and as such carries a pendant made of Water Dust that is kept on her person at all times. It is important to note that Ara cannot manifest elements out of thin air, and that they must be present in order to be manipulated. It is for this reason that she often relies on Dust-using peers to bring elements into battle.
Much like Dust, Ara can merge elements under her control to create ones that are new - currently limited to the known Primary Dust mixes - such as Energy, Glass, or Ice. This requires more use of her Aura, but proves effective in battle. Kaleidoscope’s elemental manipulation is slightly stronger than normal Dust use due to its nature as a Semblance, but it does yield drawbacks to the user. For example, breaking focus will require Ara to re-activate Kaleidoscope, forcing her to drain more Aura than necessary to harness it. In addition, activation occurring more than twice in sixty seconds can cause aneurysms in the brain, causing Ara to succumb to extreme headaches and potentially strokes.
Because Kinetic - and by extension Gravity - Dust is not naturally occurring in Remnant, there is no way for Ara to manipulate such properties. The same applies to the Spiritual Dust types - Divine and Void - for unknown reasons.
Activation Cost: 30AP
Maintenance Drain: 1AP per 30 seconds.
Elemental Manipulation: 10AP
Elemental Merging: 5AP
