Hello, newly registered member or guest! In this thread, you will find the rules that apply to our role play forum - Remnants. These rules were put into place on 08/13/2016 and currently govern the entirety of the site, with separate threads dictating more specific rules - such as the role play, combat, etc. Upon joining Remnant, you automatically agree to these rules and agree to follow them. As the site develops, rules may change, however all such changes will be accompanied by an update post. It is your responsibility to remain up to date with any changes and follow them accordingly.
Thank you for reading the rules!

SITE RULES
- 01. Respectful Behavior: All members of this forum agree to respect their fellow members, as well as the Staff Team. Insulting or harassing members, or attempting to stir up drama, will result in immediate and severe consequences. Additionally, the use of racism, sexism, and any other form of bigotry out of the role play is grounds for immediate ban from the site.
- 02. Content: Remnants maintains a 3-2-2 rating according to RPG-Rating. Here’s a break down of what that means:
- Language 3: Remnants has no restrictions on use of swearing. That said, please avoid rude or otherwise disrespectful comments when out-of-character. Racism, sexism, etc. are not tolerated here towards your fellow members, but such a thing may exist within the confines of the role play itself.
- Sexuality 2: Sexual content - to an extent - is allowed on Remnants, and is easier if it is done with mild innuendos and references, such as "fade to black". Sex is a normality in day to day life, this is true, however our hosts current Community Guidelines do not allow explicit narration of such acts. If you are found to be explicit, you will be asked to edit your post to make it more in line with our host's CG. Should you continue to violate the rules, you may lose posting privileges. Posting or linking to any pornographic content on the site will result in an immediate ban.
- Violence 2: While it doesn’t really make sense when you compare the numbers, a “2” rating in Violence allows pretty much everything that isn’t excessive, which starts at “3”. Remnants is a story of chaos, of war. Violence is a necessity in our world, and as such we will do our best to help you understand what is and is not extreme/excessive/graphic. For example, you can shoot someone in the head, but you can’t go into gory details over what happens afterward.
- Language 3: Remnants has no restrictions on use of swearing. That said, please avoid rude or otherwise disrespectful comments when out-of-character. Racism, sexism, etc. are not tolerated here towards your fellow members, but such a thing may exist within the confines of the role play itself.
- 03. Chatbox Use: The cbox is intended for friendly chat, and should not be used as a place to vent or stir up drama. Topics such as religion, politics, and other subjects that may be “triggering” are not allowed in the cbox - and all subjects should remain relatively PG13. In addition, and out of courtesy, absolutely no advertising or posting to other sites is allowed in the cbox. For more, view <CBOX RULES>. Next to our Cbox you will find a Shoutbox - this can be used to request assistance from the Staff without mudding down the Cbox!
- 04. Accounts: In our roleplay, you are required to have one (1) account for each character. This helps us with censusing and avoids confusion when performing certain tasks throughout the form. You may have an OOC account for the forum, though it is not required. When registering, you will be asked to create a username that has no spaces - this is necessary for the tagging feature. Display Names can be set by going into your "Profile" control panel and selecting the "Edit Profile" button, then selecting the button labeled "Personal". Make sure you save your changes!
ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
- 01. Characters holding roles that are important to Remnants’s canon will be expected to post # times per week. Furthermore, they will be required to work closely with the Staff to establish plots and event content.
- 02. If a character in a canon role goes inactive, they will lose their role and it will be up for grabs once again (unless it is a role granted to NPCs).
- 03. Character accounts will be deemed “inactive” if they go one full month without making any posts.
- 04. Characters that remain inactive for an additional month (for a total of two) will be archived (not deleted). Upon player request, they can be returned to the story. That said, if they had any canon role that was attached to them and filled in their absence, they will be required to “write themselves” out of the role in their history.
