★ APPEARANCE
Castleton wears pretty much the same thing walking around town as hunting. He actually has two shirt collections. The first and most durable is his sea shirts. Sleeveless shirts with a british spread collar. the cut in the shirt extending to the bottom of the chest and instead of having buttons, has eyelets where her laces up the shirt, usually leaving it untied. To go with these are various pants, all form fitting. Shin High leather boots finish the look, no laces so he does not trip up in combat. He will sometimes add to this look with his handmade green pea coat with white collar. Various pins, buttons, and baubles adorn the wide collar, showing off where he has been. His second shirt collection is typically more for laid back time; which is generally for classes and anytime he can relax. He has a very wide array of hawaiian shirts with bermuda shorts. Very flowery, loads of color. He will wear a panama hat and sandals in this. It is primarily for comfort.
As far as jewelry goes, He wears a ring on each finger. But he is very specific about his rings. On his right index finger is a five metals ring made of gold, silver, copper, tin and lead. The small gemstone in the center of the top is an emerald. The engravings use old runes to read as "Even the waves break." His right middle finger has a common silver ring with two tourmaline stones in it. The right ring finger is a poison ring, a ring with a small box on top, made of silver with a large jade stone on top. The ring holds a small amount of fire powdered dust, which can be blown out as a momentary distraction. His right pinkie is adorned with a white gold signet ring with his old crew's Jolly Roger. His left index finger holds a common gold ring with an alexandrite stone in the center. The stone is kept shallow to prevent interfering with the operation of Roger. He has a tin finger armor ring on his left middle finger with an opal set into each face. On his left ring finger is a gimmel ring, one ring made of two lead anchor stopped rings, that close around a diamond shaped aquamarine stone. His left pinkie has a basic tin ring with a peridot stud on top. In his left earlobe, he wears a solid gold hoop earring with studs on each side of the lobe to hold the hoop on. It is small enough to avoid issues in combat, but large enough to serve it's purpose. In the event he should die while away from home, his earring can pay for him to be buried.
★ PERSONALITY
★ HISTORY
Castleton was born in the Kingdom of Setek to a family of fishers. From the time he could walk, he was on the boat, learning the family trade. He was six when he snagged his first fish and 10 when he hauled in his first big fish alone. When he was 11, his life changed forever. An Abyss Dweller rose from the depths, enticed by the net fishing. When it dragged the net with fish down, the tentacles of the massive octopus like Grimm smashed the hull, sent the family overboard and dragged the vessel down to the depths below. Castleton was spared by being pushed into a life boat by his mother before she was dragged down as well.
He was ironically fished from the sea by a crew of pirates. The crew of the Smoky Mars got him back to health before taking him back to port. The Captain, walked him down the gangplank and then stopped. "You know kiddo. You might have a house here. But do you have family here? We be restocking here for the week. If you so desire, you may join our family, but you will be working for your stay."
It was true enough. All of his family went down into the sea with the Grimm attack. While he had a house, he only had things here. Quiet nights at the table, sleeping in his parents' bed. He decided with just one day before the Smoky Mars left port to join them. He arrived with just a burlap bag of clothing and called out to the Captain, who welcomed him aboard.
His first duty on the ship was as the Cabin boy. He made beds, cleaned laundry, swabbed the deck. As he made mistakes, the crew would laugh. But after they had their laughs, they taught him how to do it right. "A family isn't all hugs and tears, expect a punch in the gut from time to time before they help you." Over the years, he learned more skills and eventually became a full member or the crew, he even had a few members actually lower on the pecking order than he was. At this point he was learning his own style of naval combat. Working with belaying pins to fend off boarders, he developed as a melee combatant. He was more agile than most of the crew and became creative with how he attacked.
At the age of 15, he was part of the defense crew repelling naval borders. He saw one of the enemy crew members sneaking up on the captain. He swung down from the rigging, blocked the cutlass slash with his belaying pin, and drop kicked the enemy over the side of the ship. After the boarding crew was repelled, he took the cutlass from the ground where he protected his captain. Instead of having it added to the stockpile, the Captain took it, and slid it in Castleton's sash. Making him a member of the boarding crew.
Now a member of the top end of the crew, his main duty was to practice combat and become better. Everyday, he sparred with the other boarding crew members. With each battle, he got his rear handed to him, but he learned something new. It wasn't until the Captain wanted to spar with him that he showed his gift. When he was going for a deflection of a punch, his green aura appeared. The captain said it was like eh punched a mast.
It was during his first boarding attack when the Captain knew that the life of a pirate was not going to be Castle's sole purpose in life. Diving in front of a sword slash aimed at an ally, his semblance came to light and the shockwave with five of his crewmates behind him, cleaved the front from the ship causing it to sink. The crew had to carry him back because he was exhausted. When Castle woke up, they were back in port, his bag packed and waiting by the gang plank. The captain had managed to talk to a representative of the Kingdom and had Castleton sent to the Academy.

★ COMBAT NOTES
WEAPONS
Jolly is a cutlass blade of rather plain design from a distance. The blade is 24 inches long, with a 19.5 inch cutting edge. On the rear edge of the blade, starting at the tip is a 6.5 inch concave edge. Near the hilt is a splayed out section with three oblong holes running parallel to each other. The brass basket hilt goes out three inches from the handle and wraps down to the pommel. The basket is a basic sheet of metal with two tear drop shapes cut out of it. The handle is made of wood, painted green with a gold scene painted along the center all the way around it depicting a naval battle. Along the flat of the blade on one side is a acid filigre of seaweed.
Roger appears to be a very old flintlock pistol. The main body is made of a single piece of holly, sanded smooth. All the metal pieces are made of pure silver. The endcap is a skull with jade eyes. The barrel flares out at the end and is etched with a stream of skulls. The hammer is shaped like a double sided throwing hammer. While it functions like a normal pistol, it is built to exclusively use powdered dust.
MISC.
Castleton considers himself a Dust Scientist. When in reality, he just thinks of creative methods of utilizing the different dust varieties. He carries several caps of Fire, Air, and Earth, and Water Dust. He also has crystal shaped vials that hold one dust with another smaller vial suspended in the center containing a separate dust. These two stage vials are a specialty of hi he calls the "Combos." Instead of Fusing the elements together, the delay causes one element to go into another for a totally different effect, depending on which is the external and which is the internal dust. Because of the volatility of powdered Dust, he only ever carries 5 combos.
Air+Fire=White Flames
Air+Water= Cloud
Earth+Air=Dust Cloud
Earth+Fire=Lava
Earth+Water=Mud
Fire+Air=Explosion
Fire+Earth=Smoke
Fire+Water=Steam
Water+Air=Rain
Water+Fire=Scalding Water
On his hip he wears an ascender automated grappling hook. With three buttons on the side, he can control the speed and length of cable. It can reach up to 300 feet in length.
Castleton's aura is a dark green field that surrounds his clothing. When he forms this defensive aura, it drains a constant 1% of his Aura Points per ten seconds. This formed from his propensity to use his body as a shield to protect others plus he doesn't like his outfit to get torn. The aura does not go to his weapons though. The salty sea air smell constantly surrounds him while this aura is active.
MARVELOUS
Despite how lazy and idle he tends to be, his true purpose and calling from his soul to to protect those he holds dear to him. This is shown in his Semblance. When he places himself between others and danger, he can unleash a shockwave from Jolly or Roger that increases exponentially depending on how many he is standing directly in front of. 2 people behind him increases the boom by a power of 2, 3 by a power of 3, and 13 by a power of 13. However having no one behind him means his Semblance is no more powerful that a basic shot from Roger. The shockwave from Jolly is a slicing motion while from Roger is a piercing stream. He can also add Dust to his semblance which adds just the element to the wave. It drains all of his aura save the last little scrap (1 aura Point). But there is a minimal amount he needs in the tank to fire one off. The more he has in it above his minimum, the stronger the base attack is. This is all or nothing. There is no holding back. If he has 51 AP for a basic Semblance, and three people behind him the attack would be a 1. If he had 60 AP in front of those same three people, it would be 103 or 1000. On the downside, it does take a considerable amount of time to build up and condense before it is launched. More intelligent beings can easily get out of the way, weather they can access aura or not.
Basic Semblance = 50 minimum
Semblance + One Dust = 60 Minimum
Semblance + Dust Combo = 75 Minimum
Semblance + Fusion Dust = 100 Minimum
As far as the appearance and surrounding area goes. When he is activating it, the weapon in his right hand and his entire body will glow bright green with his aura. A green light will illuminate behind him, covering those he is protecting. He will then "aim" the weapon (Cutlass held above his head, Pistol pointed directly at the target). The area will hear the sound of high sea waves, and those bathed in the green light will smell salty sea air. The entirety of the aura will then condense at the tip of the cutlass or the flare of the pistol. When the attack is initiated with either the trigger pull or slash, the shock wave is launched with the sound of a large cannon fire.
