★ APPEARANCE
Sol stands just under a full six feet in height and when equipped with the endoskeletal prosthesis of his right arm, weighs just over two hundred pounds. His frame is heavily muscled, along with broad shoulders and a thickly muscled arm that runs down to a blunt powerful hand with thick fingers. His brown shoulder hair hangs straight down, often in an attempt to conceal the fact that he is missing his right eye, whilst the rest is collected in a tail behind his head. He wears a nondescript eye-patch to cover the vacant socket and scar that marks the right side of his face. Sol's skin is a veritable road-map of abuse, and evidence of old wounds are present in great numbers across his chest, back and arm, ranging in size and source. From bullets and bolts, to swords and bludgeons, as well as chemical and burns, nearly every source of damage known to man is represented somewhere on Sol's body. However these individual scars pale in comparison to the ruin of Solomon's right arm, which, when not affixed to a sophisticated prosthesis, terminates abruptly into a gruesome stump mid way down his bicep. The remaining flesh is riddled with evidence of the traumatic procedure by which he was united with his artificial arm, and the coiling shapes of wires and coolant conduits can be seen bulging beneath his skin, while bolts and metal plates populate the right scapular, right clavicle, and right shoulder, providing mounting points for his weaponized prosthetic. Across his right side it is possible to see where his skeletal structure was surgically reinforced along the spine and rib cage in order to better tolerate the forces of employing his right arm in battle.
However, a purely empirical description of Sol fails to adequately capture the actual menace of the subject.
Though standing just shy of six foot, Sol carries himself in such a manner as to appear to tower over others. An attitude of assumed superiority, bordering on arrogance, punctuates his movements, and when combined with a powerful frame of broad shoulders and dense athletic muscle, this lends him to having an oppressive and intimidating presence. Likewise even simple actions seem to be performed with a fluid and predatory grace that suggests at the impressive strength and agility of his physique, as well as a decisiveness that seems perpetually only mere moments from outright violence. The mere act of mixing a cup of tea, when performed by Sol contains as much menace as a fuse trickling towards it's terminus. What's worse is that this impression does not seem to be intentional or even conscious on his part.
His fixed and somewhat sardonic smile, that is so often in stark contrast to the weathered and haunted look in his single eye, conjures the image of a motionless viper lounging in the grass. His manner seems to announce, rather than merely suggest for any who are acute enough to pay attention, that Sol is practiced in committing violence against his fellow man.
Sol's facade often passes right over merely being cool into the territory of being frigid in the same way as frostbite, and smiles of genuine joy or affection are rare to the point of non-existence. His golden gaze seems to carry with it an oppressive weight, the kind usually only found among the shell shocked ranks of soldiers too long upon the front lines, as well as in the eyes of a predator appraising it's prey.
Simply put, he looks dangerous, regardless of what he is doing.
During the numerous examples of when his cool facade is unable to maintain itself and Sol's passions boil over upon his exterior, it becomes apparent that his features, arranged as they are, are so uniquely gifted in the expression of rage and anger that it often comes as little surprise to unfortunate bystanders when things begin to explode about him. Sol's legendary temper lends itself to a legendary effect upon his countenance, wherein the usually tan pallor of his skin adopts a dangerously red hue that causes his numerous scars to stand out like pale stripes all across his body. It is during such moments that Sol assumes a visage that earned him his unique moniker. Namely a proliferance of snarling, roaring, and baring of seemingly too long canines, and the widening of an unblinking and venomous golden eye all afford him traits that are both serpentine and predatory.
Sol speaks in a booming voice that seems too vast for even his notable physique, and the consonants of his speech often contain a hint of smokiness or granite roughness that affords his words an elemental persuasion of both fire and earthiness. His is educated and well read, and this is reflected by his choice in words, grammar, and his accent, all of which contain subtle undertones of a military background.
Sol is proud of his house and it's reputation and commonly adorns himself with the Moon family crest, which is predictably, a stylized rendition of Remnant's fractured celestial body.
When dressed casually, Sol garbs himself in finely tailored apparel, suitable for his lofty economic station. Swallow-tail coats, with baggy and comfortable sleeves capable of concealing his mechanical arm, serve as the majority of Sol's wardrobe. Each coat is personally tailored to fit his body, and crafted in luxuriant materials of red or blue, with their opposite color or gold serving as trim amidst silver or brass buckles and buttons. When at ease he prefers to wear his coat open at the front over a simple shirt of varying hue, usually black, blue or red. Upon his legs he favors custom fitted suit pants of a shade to match his coat or shirt, fastened by a belt featuring a buckle in the style of his family sigil. For footwear he favors rugged but functional boots and greaves engraved with his family insignia.
When dressing for battle, Sol's attire changes little, but will typically be constructed of more durable materials, treated with red and blue dust to better tolerate the forces of his fighting style. The coats of his combat wear will be distinguished from those of his casual attire by a finely embroidered stylization of his family crest that rests between his shoulders upon the coat's back. However instead wearing a shirt beneath, he protects his chest with a banded mail breastplate of specially treated alloy, comprising of non ferrous steel, titanium, and blue and red dust. The segmented design of the breastplate lends itself to the easy replacement of damaged bands, and also further intensifies the serpentine similarities of it's wearer by resembling the belly scales of a snake. The greaves are likewise treated with dust to increase their heat tolerance, and his reinforced jackboots are equipped with shanks of a similar alloy in the soles and caps in the toes. Sol might also protect his head with a combat helmet that is ornamented upon the front with a large crescent shaped icon that points up from his missing eye seemingly continuing the line of the scar upon the right side of his face.

Preface: The House of Moon
The House of Moon is one of the oldest of the noble houses still present in Remnant, and can chart it's history reliably to the earliest days of the dark age that followed the cessation of dust based technology. Verbal histories passed down through the generations extend much further and speak of a legendary time before the dark age, when the House of Moon, served beneath the banner of one of the world's mightiest city states, and marshaled a well equipped and trained private army that could rival that of even some small kingdoms of the time.
Though this history is obscured by the fog of time, and likely heavily influenced by the artistic license of it's keepers, more recent written records paint the Moons as worthy heirs to such majestic ancestry.
The House of Moon claims the distinction of historically having taken a very active role in the preservation of pre-fall civilization, mostly in the form of adherence to military doctrines that governed the lost kingdoms of old, and maintaining a foothold near the surface of the great subterranean warrens as bulwark against the threat of Grimm, and a bastion to survivors of the fall. This stronghold in the mountains of what would one day be called Legion, came to be know as "The Celestial Fortress", later "The Moon Compound", following the rediscovery of dust based tech.
Military rank and file was instrumental in establishing and maintaining order in these days of strife, and such trappings was over time elevated to a nearly theological devotion to the art of warfare and battle.
The House of Moon would gather vast forces and venture into the ruins of the old world in search of useful technology and resources. It was a source of great pride for the family's progenitors that their forces were lead from the front by those that wore the family crest upon their cloaks.
This anathema to safety and complacency culled all but the strongest and most capable from the family's ranks, and maintained the actual population of those baring the Moon name to just above a handful of immediately related members. This meant that even while the ranks of loyal banner-men swelled around the leadership of the Moon family, the family itself remained relatively small and maintained control purely via a combination of loyalty and raw martial might.
The judicial system of the family and it's small foothold of civilization would have seemed somewhat barbaric by pre-fall standards, being that it relied almost entirely upon trials of combat to settle disputes or determine guilt, and even permitted duels to the death in extreme cases. Even advancement to positions of martial or political power could not be achieved without first passing a test of might, many of which carried potentially lethal penalties for failure. This ensured that the strongest of citizens would rise to power, fostering a manner of caste system that rendered civilians into the position of second class citizens, whilst it rewarded the might of the house warriors. While this might have easily devolved into the kind of kratocracy that defined "bandit kingdoms" of the time, The House of Moon managed this slippery slope, and used their own martial prowess to enforce restrictions of honor and obligation upon the banners and warriors most likely to abuse this system. It was likely through the Moon's efforts and their religious devotion to the pursuit of a virtuous society lead by the strongest and most capable that allowed their little corner of humanity to avoid self destruction in the face of the difficult years that lay ahead.
Once amiable contact with other outposts of transient civilization was establish, and the later resurgence of dust based technology, the House of Moon and it's loyal servant houses, evolved past the point of settling all disagreements with some manner of combat. However, as a whole they never forgot their distinguished roots, and to this day view prowess in battle as something of nearly divine import. Duels of honor and dispute are commonplace among these houses, and it is considered an elegant solution in comparison to the lengthy judiciary proceedings seen in other cultures. This unfortunately also means that the House of Moon and it's servant houses are often unfairly viewed by foreign observation as being nothing but a group of dull witted and violent brutes. This is hardly the case, as the Moon's themselves prize tactical and academic acumen as fiercely as strength of arms and are well educated on the subjects of diplomacy and foreign culture, usually with a focus on their styles of warfare. After all, knowledge itself is a potent weapon.
Naturally, it is not uncommon for misunderstandings to occur, especially on the subjects of perceived, versus implied or actual challenges, and the etiquette of a loser towards the victor. Moons and their ilk are viewed as being hot headed due to the ease with which they respond to imagined challenges, an offhanded or sarcastic remark often enough to precipitate an impromptu duel of grievance, and as being intolerant or oppressive due to the expectations they place upon those that they defeat. Counter-intuitively, among the House of Moon and it's banners, settling an argument with violence is actually considered polite, because it expedites the process and saves time for all those involved.
This is important information when one considers the environment into which one Solomon Moon was born, and the forces that served to sculpt him as he matured.
Biography
As the only son of father Terrel-Daton Moon, and mother Himeyoshi Moon, Solomon Moon was a product of a long tradition of military doctrine long before he was ever born. Sol never knew his mother apart from the vague and sparse descriptions provided to him by a father who rarely spoke of her. It was in this way that Terrel became the pillar of Solomon's early life, by serving as mentor, instructor, primary care-giver, benefactor and a host of other functions upon which the boy was entirely reliant.
Terrel was a major player in the Legion military sector, and commonly contracted his forces out to noble houses, and in many cases the state itself. Such contracts often skirted the ethical boundaries enough to be undesirable to the noble houses own forces, or impractical for the state's bureaucratic system to tackle. Regardless of the moral issues of such assignments, which often involved crushing militia's with dreams of sovereignty from Legion, it was beyond questioning that Terrel was a gift commander, and on the frequent occasion when he entered the fray himself, an equally skilled warrior. It was under Terrel's leadership that the Moon name began regaining the sort of recognition that it enjoyed in ages past, but the nature of this recognition as well or ill often varied from one person asked to another.
Terrel had great visions for his son, most of which revolving less around raising a suitable heir and more the goal of fashioning a perfect warrior to serve as the figurehead of the private military contractor that the House of Moon had come to be. Sol was groomed from the earliest possible age to grasp the edicts of battle on a nearly instinctive level. He was distinguished so well in his studies of swordsmanship, that his missing eye was often said to have been lost in a duel, even as the subject of the rumor was scarcely more than half a dozen years old. Said eye was actually lost when an outbreak of small-pox struck the Moon compound. After being bed ridden for many days, his right eye rotting in it's socket from infection, during a moment of inattention from his minders and doctors, Sol clawed the festering organ from his head in feverish delirium. However, the loss of the infected eye might have saved Sol's life, as it seemed to serve the turning point in his sickness, and the boy quickly recovered.
Sol never really missed the eye, and grew up accustomed to it's absence. He was known to move around, perform tasks, and even fight as easily as men without his handicap. This was to the degree that others often forgot the disabilities of the young lord and stood unwittingly in the young man's blind spot. This lasted until Sol challenged numerous offenders to a duel for the insult, and then fought and defeated them all at the same time. This was when first the moniker of "One Eyed Dragon" was used to describe the hot-headed and proud young lord, and the name only became more fitting as the boy aged.
During his early life Sol received his education from private tutors, in between an already dense schedule of martial and tactical training. This would later provide the kind of flexibility needed to pursue the family business.
Sol's military career began unofficially at age thirteen. Already a large enough to pass for a small adult, he sneaked aboard a troop transport headed for the Legion periphery and served in a force that was sent to put down a local revolt against the Legion authority. This introduction to warfare was a shock to Sol, as the unexpected brutality of what would wind up being a drawn out siege against entrenched faunus forces utilizing guerilla tactics, exposed the young man to many horrors of war. Allowed no opportunity amidst the desperate fighting to actually absorb or comprehend the true scope of the conflict, Sol was deeply effected and traumatized by the experience. It was the first time Sol had seen fighting as, not the noble and honorable act that his training had lead him to understand, but instead the impersonal brutality of facing death and suffering at the hands of a strange foe. The battle had ended by the time those who had discovered Sol's disappearance tracked him down to the transport he'd stowed away upon. While the records of the conflict stated that casualties for both sides were minimal, Sol still bore witness to sights and sounds that would come to haunt him for a long time.
Never the less, by the time Sol was fourteen, with the blessing of his father, he was openly participating in military operations, under close supervision of course. During this time Sol would not relive the horrors of his first deployment. Instead he was placed on low priority escort and guard assignments to minimize his exposure to actual peril, while still allowing valuable experiences of occasional front line combat. Sol distinguished himself on these missions, and for all intents an purposes appeared to be shaping up as a worthy successor to his father's distinguished career.
By the time Sol was old enough to enroll at Vytal he was spending much of his free time shadowing the operations of his family's forces. Through negotiation, and a not insubstantial sum donated to the academy, he was permitted to attend under a modified curriculum. Under this arrangement Sol was required to study independently for standard academic examinations, and pass periodic physical and practical assessments, as well as meet a minimum attendance of 20%, all for the purpose of determining that he was progressing at the same level as other students. In so far as the practical assessments went, experience gained from active service in a military unit meant that Sol often far exceeded the examples of his peers, but conversely he was never considered exceptional in his written exam results. This arrangement meant that Sol was more or less free to continue active service in his family's forces, but whenever possible he made an effort to return to the academy for a week or two at a time in order to satisfy his attendance requirements.
Shortly before his seventeenth birthday, on just such an assignment, Sol was accompanying his father, Terrel, on what was supposed to be a routine escort mission through the Legion periphery. However, the Moon forces were ambushed by remnants of the very same revolutionary dissidents that had been the subject of Sol's very first deployment. In the chaos, Sol's father was taken hostage by the group's leader who held a knife to the elder Moon's neck as he demanded parlay. Terrel, as shocked by the indignity as he was mortified by his own humiliation at being captured, demanded that Sol order his soldiers to fire upon the terrorist leader. Sol hesitated, for he loved his father deeply, and knew that without Terrel the impossible task of leading the family forces would fall to him, but the hostage taker Yoshi Yamahatta, saw that his life was in danger and cut Terrel's throat in his panic. Somehow the ploy worked and the terrorist escaped the resultant hail of gunfire and fled into the forests that populated the area.
Driven by grief, Sol waged a bloody and vengeful campaign in the pursuit of the man who had killed his father, leading his small but well equipped force into the woods and using slash and burn tactics to force the enemy into the open, where they were cut down to a man. After three days of tirelessly hunting his prey, leaving vast hectares of forest burned, wildfires raging with enough smoke to blot out the sky, and many hundreds of bodies mutilated by flames, blades, and bullets, unburied and rotting in the baking heat, Sol managed to trap Yoshi and his surviving forces against a wide river.
Against the advice of his lieutenants, Sol abjured the mounting of a tactical assault in favor of a bloody charge that would end up costing much from both sides, and from Sol specifically. Sol's forces fell upon the trapped rebels with enough force to drive most of them flailing into the mighty river's current, and while a patient assault would have won the day at little cost, Sol was near mad with the loss of his father and personally sought to claim vengeance by his own hand. Ordering his forces to maintain pressure, and by doing so ensured that many needless casualties would be suffered by both sides, Sol patrolled the fighting until he finally came upon Yoshi and a small squad of retainers.
Sol declared to his forces that there were to be no survivors, and that Yoshi was his alone to kill, before wading into the melee to face the object of his obsession. Yoshi humored the young man's vengeful bent, and allowed the youth to draw close, and thus be over extended bheind enemy lines before setting his retainers upon Sol. The grieving son fought well and felled a large number of foes, but in the chaos, seeking to take the boy hostage as he had the father, Yoshi struck as Sol grappled with another warrior.
Already weakenned by nights of troubled sleep, long marches and being worn down by the bulwark of bodies between himself and his foe, Yoshi's strike slipped the lord's guard and Sol's right arm was cloven from his shoulder. Yoshi, realizing that he could not bargain for the life of a dead man, settled to satisfy himself with at least ending the boy before his forces could crush the rebels. Sol used what remained of his strength to claim his vengeance, and unleashed a blast of his semblance upon Yoshi at point blank range, and obliterated the faunus commander from the shoulders up.
The loss of their commander stunned the rebels, and they may have surrendered had it not been immediately followed by the rescue efforts of Sol's own forces cutting a bloody swathe towards the crippled body of their liege. The rebel forces were wiped out, almost entirely to a man, as an unconscious Sol received emergency medical treatment and was sped back to Legion for care.
Sol's arm was beyond recovery, and it was a long and painful recovery to reach a degree of health where he would be able to survive the procedure to implant the infrastructure for a prosthetic. Said procedure was just as traumatic, painful and subject to lengthy recovery as the injury that had originally claimed the arm, and all told Sol spent more than an entire year in medical care before being released into a world that did not, as far as his eye could tell, even remotely resemble the one he had known.
The experience had changed him drastically. The hopeful, optimistic, and friendly (in an aggressively competitive way), young man died next to a river somewhere in the Legion periphery. The Solomon Moon that returned to his family compound, now empty of those that bore it's name save for the boy himself, was a hard and changed creature that held little resemblance to the lost innocence of his youth.
Sol found his only respite in reacquainting himself with the art of battle using his new arm, but the frustrating and difficult acclimation as well as the constant pain of his implants only caused him to become more bitter and withdrawn over time.
Elsewhere, the people of Legion mourned the loss of Sol's father, and honored them both as martyrs and heroes for giving their lives to the upholding of law in the lawless wilderness that surrounded Legion, but over time they too began to resent Sol and the Moons, as talk of the catastrophic battle, wide spread destruction, and the slaughtering of surrendering forces reached the public ear.
The House Of Moon allied itself to Barnett, shortly prior to the events that instigated the battle of Rift. Sol personally lead a contingent into the city and held down his assigned sectors without much fuss or complication, in a manner that would come to define the conflict as a whole. Barnett, impressed with the effectiveness of the force which was comparatively small for what it had accomplished, posted the House of Moon forces as civil defenders of the annexed city, and charged them with upholding order within the foreign capital.
Sol, who had participated in the fighting only as a figure head, whilst others lead in his place, returned to Vytal to resume his studies with a small retainer in tow. Whilst still technically the leader of House forces, Sol only maintains a nominal presence in their dealings, being that he is young and has not fully mended the damage done by his first campaign in the eyes of his subordinates.
What is written below may be known via common knowledge to any player/character who so chooses.

WEAPONS
Roar:
Sol lost his right arm in a campaign to avenge the death of his father. He has since replaced it with a sophisticated prosthesis that serves most of the same functions of the original, and several more as well.
Said prosthesis exists in two distinct parts, a reinforced endoskeletal structure that closely resembles the bone and sinew of a normal arm only rendered in far tougher materials, and a removable exoskeletal shell that houses a dust deployment and containment system.
For materials the arm is constructed from a combination of dust infused alloys of non ferrous steel and titanium, as well as hardened ballistic ceramics, myomer artificial muscle fibers made of carbon-nano-tubes.
The internal structure functions as an arm without need of the external structure, but looks rather unsettling, being that the carbon myomer muscle fibers bear a shockingly close resemblance to it's biological equivalent, complete with a transparent blood-like substance that serves as both liquid coolant and electrical conductor, and a bone structure composed of the aforementioned alloys of a similar material to conventional hunter weaponry. It is considerable tough on its own, and capable of withstanding as much abuse as the typical hunter weapon, with a heat tolerance that far exceeds the average of such implements. The arm is insulated and grounded through surgically implanted conductors in Sol's body, that allow him to disperse electrical discharge without damaging his arm.
The removable external structure contains a sophisticated dust deployment system armored in a carapace of ballistic ceramic and alloy plates that provide protection not for the internal structure of the arm but rather for the cache of dust based ammunition housed in the bicep. Whilst protecting the dust storage from tampering and weapon's fire, this also means that the bicep and forearm of the prosthesis needs to be stripped in order to reload the system. This structure actually extends up and over the remaining portion of Sol's biological arm, and fastens to a set of implanted rivets in his right scapular, shoulder and rib cage. The structure itself resembles overlapping red plates of insect chitin, extruded from and surrounding a semi-translucent blue interior, and has a decidedly more organic impression than a conventional prosthetic, likely due to personal preference on the part of the creator. The shell is made of a ceramic composite, in order to shed the weight that would have been necessary to achieve a similar shape with metal. The skeleton of the prosthesis is visible along the palm, fingertips and knuckles of the hand, being that it was more efficient to leave these area's unarmored and allow the hardy material of the internal structure to take the brunt of any abuse.
Other interesting features of this prosthesis is the addition of several vents arranged at the joints for the purposes of deploying dust. In order of size from largest to smallest are as follows, dorsal shoulder, six inches in diameter, right palm, four inches in diameter, and two on the medial and lateral sides of the elbow, each two inches in diameter.
By employing these vents and the dust contained within the internal housing, often fire or wind dust, Sol can either eject gouts of flame and explosive force from his arm, or by narrowing the aperture of said vents , augment his own mobility with the assistance of directed jets of force.
The palm of the system also allows for it to interface with the hilts of one of Sol's other two weapons, as well as a locking system that makes him effectively impossible to disarm without literally disarming him.
Roar affords Sol enhanced physical strength for hand to hand strikes, but the primary weapon system comes by way of the vent located in the palm, from which concentrated ejections of dust can be fired in either stream, projectile, or jet form, by manipulating the much more complicated aperture located therein. The elbow and shoulder vents working in tandem the main gun can operate as a sophisticated stabilization system by ejecting precise jets to counteract the recoil of discharging the primary weapon.
For the purposes of combat the projectile stream and jet settings are distinguished ad follows.
Projectile mode uses a magnetic field generated in the palm to construct and fire a solid mass of dust based argent plasma up to fifty feet. This projectile explodes on impact and inflicts splash damage over an area six feet in radius, inflicting damage by way of heat and shock-wave. However due to lacking a solid casing, the projectile requires a short distance to prime, causing it to lose this explosive quality except at ranges of less than ten.
Sol can deliberately dial back the power of his projectiles to manage heat build up and allow for three shots before over heating instead of the usual one. Such shots do not explode at any distance, and have a maximum range of fifty feet.
Stream mode ejects a narrow two foot wide cone that can extend up to fifteen feet, and Sol typically employs this mode when a target closes into the dead zone of his projectile mode.
Jet mode has little if any applications for direct damage and instead provides propulsion for enhancement of Sol's mobility. By focusing tightly concentrated jets through the vents in the arm, Sol can propel himself in a direction, or alter a current trajectory, not unlike a rocket engine burning liquid and solid fuel to generate propulsion. Via the manipulation of the vents and apertures therein, Sol can achieve some precision in this regard, even so far as to reverse the direction of his sword mid swing. Apart from Projectile mode, this mode is the most typical application of Roar's weapon systems.
The only major consideration need to be taken into account is heat buildup, and ammunition availability, though the weapon houses enough dust to discharge fifteen high caliber projectiles or sustain roughly five minutes of continuous burn before needing to be reloaded, the weapon requires thirty seconds to vent heat following each discharge of the main gun or sixty seconds of continuous stream.
Whisper:
This officer's weapon formerly belonged to the swordsman who severed Sol's right arm. This sword possess a slightly curved, four foot long single edged blade of a non-ferrous dust treated titanium alloy, a disc guard, and a two handed hilt with a minimal pointed pommel. Blue and red accents decorate both the hilt and the guard, and overlapping red scales reinforce the weapon's spine. This sword has been modified to interface with Sol's artificial arm. Openings arranged along the spine of the sword allow it to vent dust in much the same way as the joints of his arm, while a second system feeds an internal matrix within the weapon, allowing for the use of two types of dust at once, one internally and one externally. When infused, glyphs can be seen climbing the blade in intricate designs that resemble simple circuitry, and Sol can control the flow of dust by twisting or "revving" a throttle in the hilt just below the guard using his left hand.
The scabbard of this weapon has been modified to resemble Sol's artificial arm, and is made up of overlapping red scales over a blue core. Additionally a system has been added to the mouth of the scabbard to allow the weapon to be drawn at highs speeds, either by using a trigger on the back of the sheath to activate an internal dust charge, or by utilizing the sword's dust venting system to explosively eject the blade from it's housing. Furthermore the sheath has been modified to fasten magnetically to either a place on Sol's left hip, or a brace that he wears on his left arm, allowing him better control for how to aim and launch the sword.
Additionally, the sheath itself can be used as a sidearm by discharging the dust charge in the hilt up to an effective range of roughly six feet by ejecting a short cone of fire from the sheath's mouth. This is particularly effective when the sheath is mounted on Sol's left wrist.
The multi use cartridge houses enough dust for five discharges.
MISC.
Armor and Equipment:
Sol wears a bracer on his left wrist that houses twelve individual dust crystals for use with his semblance. The bracer can eject single or multiple crystals tough use of instructions from Sols aura. This bracer also features a magnetic clasp by which Whisper's sheath may be affixed to it.
Sol's Armor consists of three distinct garments.
Sol's waistcoat is treated with red and blue dust to increase it's heat tolerance and protect Sol from extreme temperatures by regulating his body heat.
Sol's banded mail breastplate is composed of an alloy consisting of non-ferrous steel, titanium, and red and blue dust, and provides excellent protection against piercing and slashing strikes as well as extreme temperatures.
Finally Sol's boots and greaves are likewise equipped with dust treated alloys to increase their heat tolerance, as well as metal shanks in the soles to provide a conductor by which his arm can be grounded in the case of an electrical shock.
Sol typically carries up to two extra clips for Whisper's sheath, and sometimes a backup supply of dust to recharge his arm.
Sol might also choose to use a mixture of red and white dust instead of the usual fuel for his arm. Said mixture is heavier and more volatile, and burns hotter as it clings to surfaces like napalm, at the cost of reducing the range of Roar's weapon modes by half. Sol employs this mixture of dust when facing foes he expects to leap through the streams of his flamethrower.
Sol is endlessly updating his arsenal as he gains new experience on the battle field, and will likely innovate new modifications in the future to serve his evolving needs.
Sol's aura resembles a flowing field of flame and smoke that encases his body. The colors of the respective elements of the field are a deep midnight blue and a shocking and bloody red, though whether these colors correspond to the smoke or flame part of the aura is subject to change with Sol's mood. The air around him takes on a slight tinge of saffron and brimstone. His aura seems to take a more proactive role in defense and can be seen swatting small low velocity projectiles out of the air with lashes of it's blazing tongues. The sight of Sol's aura is usually accompanied by an uncanny and immediate sense of dread and grim anticipation, as if one is watching a lit stick of dynamite. Eerily, this aura produces little light, but blazes opaquely enough to hide Sol entirely within it's depths, save for the ever visible gold of his eye.
Sol can utilize his aura both offensively and defensively, either to enhance his own physical abilities, by increasing his strength and endurance and the volatility of his attacks, or to dampen incoming damage. It is worth mentioning that using his aura to enhance damage came naturally once he had unlocked his semblance.
Volatile Ignition
At his core, as the heir and then CEO of a Private Military Contractor, in the direct employ of one of the world's four kingdoms, with access to both capital, and military hardware, and the training to make the best use of them, Sol's entire life can be defined by having more power than he can be expected to safely wield. This fact, as well as Sol's violent streak and legendary temper, both of which only controlled by constant exhausting restraint, is reflected by his semblance. It is somewhat fitting in this way that his semblance has the potential to be just as much of a threat to him as everyone around him.
Sol can generate explosions of power equivalent to military ordinance from his extremities. The blasts are generated by suddenly increasing the energy present in an area within an inch and a half of his mouth or hand. This process manifests as a sudden super-heating of the material, followed by a shock-wave as the material rapidly expands, which in turn generates more heat and thus briefly sustains the reaction, until the shock-wave reaches critical mass and collapses inward. Careful consideration of the material in question, as well as energy applied, must be made to prevent triggering a brief albeit incredibly destructive chain reaction.
Sol achieves this by, at the point of ignition, using his aura to shape the blast pattern. To understand exactly how this is achieved it helps to imagine a Sol holding an entire cannon in his hand, or between his teeth.
The "barrel" of the cannon is a short funnel composed of Sol's hardened aura, which he manifests consciously prior to the point of ignition while the "gunpowder" is the excited matter upon which he is using his semblance. Sol' must carefully balance how much power he utilizes, because if he uses too little, then the "gunpowder" fails to react, and is wasted, but if he uses too much then the "barrel" shatters and detonates like a bomb. In the latter case, this causes a brief chain reaction that magnifies the resultant blast by a factor of two, including range and damage.
These generated blasts have a maximum range of ten feet.
These blasts can inflict broken bones and lethal deep tissue damage upon targets that lack a protective aura, and can dent a quarter inch of sheet steel, shatter glass to powder, and splinter wood. The damage grows more severe as the target gets closer to the point of ignition, and less as distance is increase, with point blank range representing certain death for a human being, and max range meaning being tossed from one's feet and experiencing permanent hearing loss.
Against targets with a protective aura, these blasts can still throw opponents bodily from their feet if they have no means of securing themselves to the ground, and could potentially inflict damage to soft tissues depending on how much damage the target chooses to adsorb with their aura, not to mention inflict damage by slamming them against hard surfaces. (A common tactic is for Sol to assume an elevated position and use his semblance to slam his target against the ground) Consecutive blasts can deplete a targets aura extremely quickly. As a rule, Sol's blasts inflict much more of a toll on an opponent's aura than it costs for him to activate his semblance.
Because the use of his semblance relies upon his aura for not just energy but safe deployment, Sol's semblance depletes five (5) points of his aura every time he uses it, plus an additional ten (10) points to direct the blast for a total of fifteen (15) points. If he is unable to, or simply chooses not to pay this second toll to direct the blast, he loses control of the explosion, and is caught in a blast that is twice as powerful as usual. He can still use his aura to absorb damage, but if his stores are depleted then survival is unlikely without the immediate aid of a medical professional.
Sol can use dust to augment the affects of his semblance. Dust crystals caught in the discharges of Sol's semblance will alter the nature of the explosion delivered.
Fire dust causes the explosion to have a much more incendiary quality and boosts the maximum range by 100%, while leaving the close range unaltered. Kinetic forces of this discharge are minimal and lack the power to drive an average opponent away from the ignition point, while setting fire to combustibles and soft targets, and immediately incinerating delicate materials.
Ice dust causes the blast to be endothermic in nature, sucking available heat and energy out of the immediate area, but also halves both the close and maximum range of the blast. Depending on the material of the target, there might be as little as a sheet of frost over the affected surface or a layer of solid ice.
Energy dust causes the blast to become electrically and magnetically charged, and can disrupt electronics, and stun biological beings, and though the magnetic forces are not significant enough to attract metal objects, they are enough to scramble unshielded circuitry.
Orange dust boosts the all effective ranges by 200%. However all thermal and kinetic properties of the blast become relatively harmless in favor of light and sound, making the use of this dust ideal for deafening and blinding foes, but not much else.
Kinetic dust is used to create a brief barrier instead of a blast.
